One of the things that the Kin of the WoT books did was to provide help and service to the community!  During the Holidays there are many opportunities to do just that!

Leave a wreath on someone’s door!  Drop off a toy in the Toy Collection box in your area!  Give food to your local food bank!  Take homemade cookies to a neighbor!  Go caroling in the neighborhood, to shut ins..maybe at a Care Facility!

Maybe you shovel the sidewalks for someone, or take someone shopping! Send christmas cards to folks at a rest home..that may not get a card from anyone!

There are sooo many ways to Pass the Cheer around!  *grins*  Remember in the movie, It's a Wonderful Life, that we are told that everytime a bell rings..an angel get's thier wings?  Well in the Kin's Wonderful Life...everytime a Kinster spreads the cheer..a jingle will sound in thier point pouches!

Let us know how the Cheer is spreading in your Holiday season!  You may inspire someone with a new idea or the motivation to reach out!

I'll start us off!

Today my husband and I helped his parents put up thier tree and hang up the outside lights!

Well this is not quite of the "Giving" variety, I just got done disc jockeying a Christmas party for a Honda dealership...on the showroom floor.  My Uncle is the sales manager...I did play lots of inspirational festive holiday music.

Yes it is!!  *grins*  Giving takes many forms Sam!!  Not just by donations of money or things..but of sharing our time, talents and our lives!!  Well done!!  Bet it was a blast too!!

I have a little book of Christmas Joys...written by several friends who came up with 432 things to do for yourself and others to spread Christmas joy!  I'd like to share some of them with you..*grins*  you may find out you have been "giving" joy and just not realized it!!!

Be nice to sales personnel!  They're often wearier than you are..and a smile goes a long way!!

Spread peanut butter on pine cones, roll them in bird seed and hang them on a tree in your yard! Our Feathered friends will appreciate your thoughtfulness and care!

Tie jingle bells on your kid's shoes!  Make a JOYful noise!!!

Enjoy a meal by Christams tree lights!

Tip someone who doesn't expect it! or give a little more than usual!

Be a gracious reciever

and my persoanal favorite....

Wear outrageous, festive, colorful holiday SOCKS!

*grins*  anyone else have any?  Share them here..and keep ringing those bells!!!

Here's an idea!

When you are writing out your Christmas cards this year, include one for the following address:

A Recovering American Soldier

c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center

6900 Georgia Avenue, NW

Washington, D.C. 20307-5001

I gave $20 to a fund drive for a coworker who's husband was injured in motorcycle wreck and hasn't been able to return to work, and the insurance put a cap on how much expense they would cover.

another idea..random kindness..

If you are at Starbucks...buy a grande for the car behind you in the drive thru!

Or..take a hot chocolate to the Salvation army bell ringer standing in the cold...

Me and my sister delivered gifts to people in our church!

I didn't kill my mother in law after being left with her while everyone else went for food last night.

*laughs* I'm not sure if that counts as a "kindness" or not... I'm sure she'd think so. ;)

Let's see.

I....

Did the lighting at my churches live nativity.

Delivered gifts to some local people.

Have worn a bell on my pants for a couple weeks.

Made extra batches of Nuts and Bolts to give as gifts.

Am looking after some dogs and horses while some of my friends and church members are away for the Holidays.

I baked lots of goodies for some family who isn't quite family (brother's wife's sister's mother-in-law), but joined us for Christmas anyway; rather than trying to find some silly gift that she might or might not like anyway.
