Welcome to DM!

Like Barm said, do post your questions here and someone will be very kind and answer it for you. :)

Prepare to be bombarded by DMers selling you their ORGs and Divs, and Fiddlesticks, but I'll be nice and hold off for now with the Band of the Red Hand ORG so you can find your feet.

But whatever you end up doing here at DM, have fun! :)

Ignore Coki's selling comment. It is more like informing. *grin*

In response to barm's request that I share something about myself..

I started reading WOT around 1995 or 1996 because my best friend in high school was reading it. This was in the Philippines. Read the first 3 books at that time. Upon graduating HS in '97, my best friend and his family migrated to Canada and so I wasn't able to continue reading the series.

I wanted to get my own copy of the books but I wanted to get the first book first and work my way down. Every now and then I'd come across some of the latter books but never TEOTW. Needless to say I nevergot started in my own WOT collection.

Things changed with the release of the boxed set in 2005(?). I was able to get the three sets of three books plus the 10th book, COT. I thought to myself this is it, I get to finish reading this epic. So I started reading my way down the books and at around book 8 or 9, I wondered with all the loose ends  at that point, how will this grand tale wrap itself up by book ten? Yes, I thought COT was the last book because a) 10 is a nice round number, b) they released a boxed set and c) Its been 8 years since I read this series, it has to be over!

This nagging feeling led me to searching about WOT in the Internet and from there I realized my mistake and also led me to this site and all the other fansites/communities.

There you go, a short tale bout myself (finally I get to share it to people who could appreciate it fully). Thank you for the warm welcome..

And for my question.. not really about the series per ce.

I always read WOT when i'm in a train or a bus going to work or somewhere and sometimes people would ask me what the series is about. I have always believed that WOT is so broad and deep that I have a difficult time answering that question. Any answer I could give would certainly gloss over some important facet of the series. So my question is.. "How do you share/tell/explain to people what WOT is about?" I don't know if there has been a discussion on this already as I have not been able to exhaustively check all the posts. Thanks in advance to everyone!
