For those who went to the Wakes

I would love to hear any reports you guys have about the Wakes.  What did you guys do?  Who was there?  Did you enjoy it?  I would also love to see any pictures, if there are any.  :)

I have pictures from the Atlanta Wake. I'll get them up soon.  Not very many people, but still a good evening.

I'm interested to see them too, as I didn't attend any wake.

Yeah, I had very few international volunteers for this.  I'm debating doing it again next year, but as a birthday party/remembrance.  After I see all the reports and feedback, I'll decide.

Well, I ended up having THREE out of the 12 who said they were coming actually show up. And that is three including myself.

 

BUT we had a lovely time, I even convinced one of them to join DM. So I feel I've done my part. Completely forgot to take pictures though.

 

Seriously, though.. three people doth a lovely wake make.

I could have done one by myself I suppose, but it would've felt a bit...lonely *g*

maybe it was a bit short notice? Though if 12 said they'd come, then it's a bit of a shame they didn't in the end. still, glad you had a good evening. It's important I think that we keep the spirit of RJ alive and what he stood for. Especially the way he faced the difficulties life can put on our path and how to cope with them. Manny could benefit from that example and draw strength from it for their own struggles.

 

However little the amount of people that showed up, I'm sure for each of them it meant a great deal, so thanks for organising that.

 

And Kath, I think a rememberence/celebration each year would be a lovely idea.

Yeah, I think the shortish notice affected things.  We were trying to hit Jim's birthday though. Oh well.

and a yearly thing is a great idea, I agree. I will be in that! Even if I take pics of myself doing my own little tribute. :)
