Q2: Was this movie made After December 31st, 1992? YES

Q3: Was this movie Released after December 31st, 1999? Yes.

Q4: is the movie a chick flick? No, it is not a "chick flick."

Q5: Is this movie's genre as listed on IMDB an Action, Drama, Or Sci-Fi Movie? Yep.

Q6: Is this movie's genre as listed on IMDB a Drama? Yes

Q7: Does the movies title have more then 3 words in its title? No

Q8: Was this movie Released After december 31st, 2003? No

Q9: did this movie win any major awards? Yes (oscers, film festivals, any awards that you would see on the box touting it.)

Q10: Sin’s list (found at bottom of page 2)

Q11: Did the film win an Oscar or Golden Globe award? Nope

Q12:  Was the film originally released in the USA? No, sorry! ^_^

Q13: Was the film originally released in Europe? YES

Q14: Was the film originally released in France, Spain, Russia or Great Britian? YES

Q15: Was the film nominated for any Academy Awards or Golden Globes? YES

Q16: Is it Amelie? No

Q17: Was it originally released in the UK? No

Q18:  Is the film Monsieur Ibrahim, Balseros or Vozvrashcheniye? No

Q19:  Is the original country's film release tied to Cannes Film Festival?  (meaning are you counting the original release in France due to Cannes) No (hint: but I just clicked on the "more" link there, and it was shown at 4 festivals in countries other than the one listed on main page that I've been answering about)

Q20-ish: Is it Memento? No

Concerning Paityr's question:  The only movies Kevin Bacon was in that was nominated for Oscar or GG was Mystic River and Hollow Man.  Neither was originally released in France, Spain or Russia.  Please disregard this question unless Paityr really wants an answer.

What we know:

It was originally released between December 31st, 1999 and december 31st, 2003.

It was originally released in France, Russia or Spain.

It was nominated for a GG or Oscar but did not win either award.  It does have at least one other 'major' win, meaning any other award win listed on IMDB.

It is NOT Amelie, Memento, Monsieur Ibrahim, Balseros or Vozvrashcheniye.

It was in 4 festivals in countries other than the original released country.

It is a drama.  This doesn't help that much because most films are a drama and possibly something else (romance, thriller, etc).

It has 3 words or fewer in the title.  Next time we ask this we should be more specific and ask if about the original title just in case.

What we can deduce:

Caddy does not define it as Chick Flick, but could be to another girl.  So it could be a romantic drama.

Hax and Caddy can both find this film in the awards section, yet Empy seems to be overlooking it, even though he has been through it numerous times.

Empy believes the original release is France as Spain and Russia produce few films.

We have one question left to get this movie.  We haven't lost before and I am stubborn.  Let's discuss the possibilities.

Empy believes the original release is France as Spain and Russia produce few films.

I think we need to be careful with this statement, though. What I gathered from Caddy's responses was that the film may have been released originally in France, Spain or Russia, but may have been produced somewhere else. It still might be an American film...

And, yes, you can disregard my Kevin Bacon question. It was a joke. But I totally think Caddy would be into picking Hollow Man since you get to see Bacon's John-Thomas, albeit in infrared. Seems like her kind of movie.   ;)

And, Empy, if you get this with the last question, I will be very, very impressed.

Notes on Vatel.

Nominated for Oscar.

Release:

France May 2000 (Cannes Film Festival)

Belgium 10 May 2000

France 10 May 2000

5 Festivals

Belgium listed on main page

Starring:

Gérard Depardieu, Uma Thurman, Tim Roth

I am guessing it is not this film due to Belgium being listed on main page.

I am still looking...
