Why does morning have to come so early? Can't we push it back to some sensible hour, like noon? I've spent the last 6 years or so working midnights, and yesterday I started a new 9-5 job. The pay and benefits are great... only problem is that I'm not used to falling asleep at night. Was up at 6am yesterday, and I couldn't fall asleep until 3am last night. Was up at 6 again today on 3 hours of sleep. I wonder how long this is going to go on before I pass out right after work and sleep clear through morning.

 

How do you handle such schedule changes?

vigorous activity, cool down then do something massively relaxing. aka wear your body out then relax it.

 

i have also heard that concentrating on flexing your muscle groups one by one from head to toes works too. something like a set of three five count flexes.

Wait till 65 (or other relevant age), then retire. Then, you usually don't have to get up till you're ready. Worked for me.

i feel your pain, i have to get up at 7 am EVERY DAY, and somtimes cant get to bed till 1 am. sucks, wish there were more hoers to the day.... no i dont if there were then my boss would just stay open longer and i would be even more tierd  :(

Up at 5:00am, down at 12:00/12:30am. I find it helps to exercise before bed, do 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups and pump some weights and you'll sleep like a baby. ;)
