DRAGONMOUNT

A WHEEL OF TIME COMMUNITY

I have read these books multiple times over the last 20 years or so, they are amongst my favourites (up there with Game of Thrones, Sword of Truth, Druss the Legend and many more).

I have visited these forums many times too, though I have never registered to post anything I find myself wanting to now, hence registering. Although I have not ever seen a requirement for people to post here first to introduce themselves I have seen people berated for not doing so in previous forum visits/reads. So, hi!

I have been enjoying the TV show, moving between sadness for the things they've had to change or drop and happiness for the fact that the show is improving and encompassing more of the story as it goes on. There are a small list of scenes I personally like and hope to see, as I am sure every fan has their small list too, so we'll see how that goes.

Hi JayceDa. Welcome to DM 🙂 We do have discussions about the TV show. They are split into the episodes, although I think there are some general Threads too.

We do also have the book discussion area.

As well as discussions we have our Games Board, which had Mafia and other various games. If you've not played Mafia we can teach you. And you're always welcome to join in the adventure game.

And you could also join one of our Orgs, which let you immerse a bit into the world of WoT.

I hope to see you around.

Welcome, JayceDa 😄

Always nice to make acquaintance with a fellow fan of the Wheel of Time. And especially the shout out to Druss the Legend. The man himself gets too little recognition, IMHO.

It's not necessary to introduce yourself, but it is good forum etiquette and I think it is more where people come on and make angry or very negative posts without any thought to the rules or wellbeing of the forum.

It is always nice to see the people behind the username, it helps add to the feeling of community here.

Look forward to seeing your thoughts in the forum and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Hello JayceDa. Welcome to DM. Always nice to see another fan. I've been reading and rereading the books since the before times (1990's), lol. I am very happy to.see the story come.to.the screen. I think we all have our niggles and certainly our bucket list of must see scenes. I have gotten a few of them this season already. As well as some things that I didn't expect but enjoyed immensely.

I've just come back to DM after a long pause, Ithillian brought me back, cause she's awesome.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy spending time with all us book and show fans.

Welcome @JayceDa, class move with the intro thread.  I similarly lingered on the edges of DM for years before finally "officially" signing up.  Looking forward to learning what you "must have scenes are".  I enjoyed the Matt v Galad / Gawyn scene in the TV show; but I thought the book version was better - because it had an audience, instead of a private encounter.  That being said, I am really enjoying the show.  And TV Moggy is WAY CREEPIER than Book Moggy.

There's a game ongoing at the moment. You'll only have 70 odd pages to read through.

I can put you in the Dead Thread if you just want to read and play along.

There's also a general chit chat Thread, on the Games Board. Where you can just hang out.

I love the book scene for that Matt vs G&G fight, precisely because it is public, a large audience, the betting on the fight, the old trainer putting up for Matt if he was to lose and the lesson to G&G about how the best swordsman ever was defeated by a farmer with a staff. None of which was in the show, sadly.

I really wanted to see the scene where Rand fall's into the palace gardens in Caemlyn.

I'll put the rest in spoiler tags, just in case:

So many more!

Welcome! And I have some good news for you! There is a confirmed cast member for an Finn role. I'm not even sure if it's an Aelfinn or Elfinn.  I don't know any more details about it than that, but we will get to see them!

Nice! Thanks for the info, @Brycc alThyran 🤗

I hope we see Nyneave send Lan to Saldea forcing him to walk all through the borderlands on his way to Tarwin's gap so that she makes sure he has a small army at his back.
