my strange behavior? Loki...1)after the black stone was played switched from not supporting the admiral to supporting him

2) You opted for us to lynch Danya our *finder* whom Wes said is keeping her role (he said it straight out with no tricks, the finder and healer will be keeping their roles)

Then you precede to vote for me on the fact that I'm looking suspicious because at first I thought "Loki is being Loki" and changed my mind too "Loki is the murderer"?

fact is i whole heartedly believe you are the murderer and as soon as we solve this puzzle we lynch you.

And explain me this; if I'm the murderer, why would i try to prevent the curse from continuing and delay lynching you and moving on too night?

the best way to delay is to 'help', and that way you look most innocent..and if you didnt take the danya thing as a very obvious joke, then its really very pointless you trying to deduce the solution to the curse anyway, also not only have you started a lynch on the admiral who, has been more or less virtually confirmed innocent, and for which i couldnt see the point, im finding that either your fault logic 'we must lynch the admiral, loki is evil' is dangerous to other innocents or you have and ulterior motive to trying to look like you good and not fade in to the backround ie your evil, so either way i see it it would be win win for the innocents.

I'm sorry Loki, but what precisely is wrong with delaying the lynch till the curse is broken? What? Am I keeping you from your wonderful night kill?

And of course I'm trying to figure out this curse! Why shouldn't we be hmm?

And yes your right, my logic *WAS* faulty with the idea to lynch the admiral. But Wes said that the winner could influence the out come of the game in some way. Which i took to mean a positive influence and still think it is going to be a positive influence.

Part of negotiations (which the admiral and minister should begin with) is deciding who was at fault. and when we decide who was at fault then that person would be the loser (as in war the losing nation is often found to be the nation at fault for the war. Read a history text if you don't believe me).

And the "winner" will still be able to influence the game in a positive fashion.

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon when the trail dips into a valley. You can see from the roofs of many structures that you have made the village. The smells of cooking fires, roasting meats, stews and freshly baked bread waft onto the breeze along with something else; the clean scents of sandalwood and cedar. All in all, it is a welcoming feeling that comes over you and after no sleep for over thirty-six hours; anything welcoming is all right with you.  You have been irritated by the long march, and squabbles have broken out between you. But as you make the edge of the village, all of that is forgotten. The Houses here are each two, three, or four stories tall. All of the structures are built from a multi shaded wood giving off that clean, pleasing scent.

“It keeps the insects away. An it is naturally resistant to mold and decay.” A pirate has walked up next to you. “Everyone always asks.” He smiles and walks away. Everyone?

You are led down a road in between the structures and above you there are walkways in between almost all of the buildings, connecting almost every level. You also notice that all of the walls are louvered.  Perfectly designed to catch the faintest breeze and the scent of the wood repels insects. It’s primitive in a way. Definitely utilitarian. But perfect, and immensely comfortable. You are shown to a wide house, and up to the second floor. The first floor is taken up by the hot springs that you learn the valley is famous for. Your belongings are placed on a bed, where fresh linens have already been placed. You grab the towels and make your way back downstairs to the springs. Gingerly wading in, you realize that the water is hot! But you acclimate quickly and soon you feel better than you have in almost a month.  Food is delivered to the far end of the room and you climb out. Towel off and dress to join the others at the table. There are hot teas, hot soups, cold soups, fresh fruit and roasted vegetables. Fresh grilled meat and fish. It’s amazing and you dig in, hungrier than you can ever remember being.  You kick back in your chair and let the magic of the hot springs and the feast work their magic over you. The minister walks in, limping on one leg.

“Good evening to all of you, and let me express my gratitude once again for the roles you have played over the past couple of days. It has not been easy, I know.” He reaches out to the back of a chair and leans on it. ‘I wanted you to know that the Admiral and I at engaged in a truce. You need not worry about that situation for today. Instead, please take advantage of our hospitality. Bathe, eat, and sleep. If your clothing or weapons require mending or sharpening, please ask Motu to see to it.” He indicates the smaller, friendly looking man to his left.  And if you need anything else, please ask Barm. We have decided to spend more time here than we had at first planned for because we all need a rest. That should give you ample opportunity to solve the curse of the blackstone. Again, thank you and Barm will keep you apprised of our plans. Be well.”

oh dear...

the calm before the storm? Or finally is all at peace?

Wes, have we broken the curse of the black bonestone?

Witches, are there any hints you can give us about breaking the curse?

Posted

The curse has not been "broken", and it can't be "broken". The witches are nowhere to be found. There is currently no time limit on the day's lynch.

Posted

"THE HEALER AND SEER ROLES ARE THE SAME. THEIR FUNCTION IS THE SAME. IF YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET PAST THE CURSE OF THE BLACK BONESTONE, THEN YOU ARE FACING ONE ASSASSIN."

So there is obviously a hint in the wording then if the curse of the black bonestone's curse can't be *broken* but we have to *get past* it.

Any ideas?

Interestingly, the Admiral has solved one of the puzzles of surviving the game. By proposing a truce with the Minister. Admiral, you may propose a truce, potentially preserving.

ok so heres what Wes said about "the puzzle of surviving the game" which I'm going to assume means *get past* the black bonestone's affects.

I still think the admiral and minister should open negotiations with each other during the truce. It can't hurt at least.

Any other ideas of what we might do to get past the curse?

I'm starting to wonder if it might be connected to the fact that since the admiral wanted the minister dead and thus hired the assassins if maybe he calls off the assassins during the truce or maybe they both agree to treaty that they will never have the other killed then maybe the assassins will stop coming when another dies?

Wes, Have we gotten past the affects of the black bonestone? if not are there any hints you can give us? or can you tell us how many actions are remaining?

Posted

I've just had a delightful 18 yr, old singe malt...as pirates are want to do.....which is why i'll humor the questions....once:

1.) You can't get past the effects of the black bonestone - what's done is done.

2.) There are no more hints I can give you. Seriously, Barm was the guide, but now he is mortal. You are left to your own devices. Trust in you instincts...

3.) ??? Have you no sense of adventure? Can I tell you how many actions are remaining? Well, I could, I guess. Potentially? 9

You wonder about a connection and a truce. You should wonder about other things.

Posted
Minister, why does th truce have to end? we have clear evidence that if both of you fight you'll both die.

If you haven't figured out why, you haven't thought far enough ahead. I may need to fight later. We can't be certain that things will be quite so docile for us for the whole game. We can't be sure we won't need it. Having the ability to end the truce is like having your back up knife in a brawl. You know, plan A, Plan B??

what precisely is wrong with delaying the lynch till the curse is broken?

Games that last a month suck. They may be fun, but they suck. Fast games are better because we don't have to see so much dithering. I hate dithering.

DPR, I keep character slipping! *dies of embarassment*

the way a look at it, is the quicker we lynch the less chance of having the game actions sprung on us and randomers getting killed, and the fact that the curse is fun, its i nice test of our mafia deduction skills :D

if i were evil then kivam would still be alive cloud, seeing as i would have attempted to kill someone other than kivam, ie aim for the healer, which for some reason the current assasin hasn't..hmm with the  all of the players to choose from, excepting danya  for obvious reasons, why go for kivam...were they afraid of him maybe?

A little later, Barm comes around to check on everyone. He returns the mended clothes and sharpened weapons to their rightful owners, making sure that each of you has everything that they need. You notice that he is a little quiet. You decide to inquire. "Barm, is everything alright? I mean all things considered, of course."

He smiles. "Yes, everything is alright. The Minister and Admiral are holding their truce and planning is already under way to take back the The Hall." He frowns while he says this.

"But, that's a good thing. Yes?"

"Oh yes," he nods and smiles again. "That's definitely a good thing." he pauses, then speaks. "Here is what has me confused. I have just met with the witches and they plan to gather as soon as night falls. They intend to use a very rare stone called the Soul Stone.” He frowns again. “This piece of bonestone is used to conjure up the spirits of the dead, and bring them back as apparitions, or shades. If the shade is strong enough, it can communicate with the witches and tell them things that no living being could know.”

“Like the answer to the curse!” Everyone visibly perks up at this.

“Well, yes, that could be one thing that they may seek. But I don’t think that’s the real reason.” He frowns even more “The price for using the stone is too high.”

“Because of the risk of Xoc coming?”

“Actually, no. The Soul Stone only uses a very small bit of power, nothing powerful enough to draw Xoc’s attention. But it is enough to draw the attention of a shade. So if the shade is strong enough it will appear. And being strong enough has mostly to do with how recently that person has died. And how close the stone is to the spot where that person died. That’s one of the things that troubles me. No one whose shade that would be of any use to us has ever died here.”

It does not take you long to put that puzzle together. But you reason it out, and you are going to lynch someone. All the better if their shade can help the group afterwards.

    “So one of us then.”

He looks up. “Yes. One of us. And if we don’t choose someone of our own accord in 30 hours, someone will be randomly killed.”

“So our rest would seem to be over.”

“Well, we still have a number of hours to choose.”

“Wait, you said ‘one of the things’ that was bothering you. What is the other?”

His eyes take on a look of true concern. “I can’t figure out why they are doing this. You see, if that stone is used, the witch that sings to it is drawing death towards herself. You can’t do that without taking some of death that into yourself. The witch that uses the stone will die within six months, slowly wasting away until she becomes a living corpse herself, until there is nothing left. They must be after something far more important than an answer to the curse. Even protecting the Minister is not worth this to them. Something else has happened.”

Everyone is quiet. He looks back up. “At any rate, there is still an assassin that needs finding and lynching, so get to it.” He nods towards Loki “And you are right about acting sooner than later.”

Barm leaves and you have an eerie feeling about all of this.

*YOU NOW HAVE 30 HOURS TO CHOOOSE THE NEXT LYNCH, OR A RANDOM PLAYER WILL BE CHOSEN. *

*stifles the urge to look very smug and say i told you so*

and vemy if its any consolation, i didnt think you were evil before the black bonestone :)

Well you can't blame me from holding off the lynch until we got past the curse, but since I have no idea how that would happen then it looks like we are going to have to vote now.

You've had this a long time coming [glow=red,2,300]Loki[/glow] :p

Current Game Vote Count:

Loki(1)- Vemy

Vemy(2)- Loki, Danya

With 8 players, it takes 5 to lynch.

unless i get findered, which i would wholeheartedly suggest to danya, seeing as this evil likes killing roleless innocents..hehe you really want me to post after you dont you
