Thanks for the suggestion. I thought there is a specific site to order books :)

I actually just switched from Amazon to Barnes and Noble on my last order.

Amazon wanted to charge $31 and change for a paperback trilogy.  Was just about ready to check out when I saw they were selling the books singly for $7.99 each.  So I could buy them for $23.97 with a few extra clicks, or buy them as a bundle for $8 more.  No way!!!  Plus they don't accept PayPal which is what I was wanting to use.

Barnes and Noble - next day delivery, $23.97, and accepts PayPal.  I might have my new bookstore...

Amazon and ebay are specific sites - they just sell more than books.

Just google what books you want to buy and you will get specific results.

I lent my books 3-7 to a friend. Contacted her to ask her o return them on another forum (we live reasonably close to each other) but unfortunately she is going through chemo so I told her not to worry about it.

So I have been buying them from Waterstones, I just wanted to say how horribly ugly the Waterstones books are.... even have a stupid sticker "as seen on Amazon" on the books.

Honestly the old covers are so much nicer.

I usually read books online to save money. I also like to play online games on the gambling website and believe me, it is quite lucrative.

I stopped buying a lot of stuff from amazon because of shady pricing issues like this. They think people will assume (most probably do) that because it's a bundled item they will save, but often the single item cost is lower than the bundle prices.

I'm really not into playing games like that so I take my money elsewhere. IIRC thriftbooks is where I picked up the last several novels (used) in order to finish the series.

(Hope the above doesn't run afoul of the advertising forum rules, if so mods please delete!)

Depends on the bundle I guess?

Sometimes you get something like the "LotR 3 book bundle" which includes that big sleeve for all 3 books, and that's a different print then buying the books individually.

Honestly, Thrift Store are probably your best and last hope at finding Hard Covers at a decent price!

And if you're looking for WoT books and don't want that atrocious "Amazon Prime" sticker printed on your cover, you're going to have to steer clear of places like Barnes and Nobles for awhile!

Nah, I think you're good. Linking to a specific place to buy books isn't break the rules.

Posting about it in 30 different topics unsolicited, is.

My wife is starting to switch over to electronic books.  Don't think I ever will though.  I look at a screen enough for work.

I’m with you. Not necessarily for the same reason, I just have a thing about preferring to read the book…not sure exactly how to explain or articulate why, but I get the most enjoyment out of turning real pages in an actual book. I’m sure at least some of it comes from preexisting screen saturation though, as you said. I can’t do audiobooks either though 🤷‍♀️

One thing I would suggest is to give the audio books a try I am really enjoying them. It's like having someone read you a bedtime story and they are amazing at doing all of the voices. Sometimes they miss with some of the voices but I kind of like that as well. They are great for going to bed and I just rewind to the last part I remember or long car rides or doing dishes or things like that.

You're right. I stopped buying stuff there too, as their prices are often overpriced.

The price for the book might be higher, but when you factor in the 'free' shipping maybe not.  It's a package deal...

I would check out your local used book stores.  The series has been out for a while so I am sure they will have some if not all of the books.  The price will be reasonable and ultimately I think if we can support small businesses we should. I have watched a couple local used book stores close 😞
