I also found it amazingly bad how Ben came at me starting off this phase even after I had claimed. I think he thought I would be the easiest of mislynches.

I really need a nap.

Until you commit suicide, it is only a claim in a game largely based upon  lying. Go take your nap, since you won't answer any questions anyway.

I mean this cat is stubborn as a rock but he's certainly consistent in his approach to the game and it's not exactly an atypical perspective for a headstrong new player.

How often is scum!him going to get combative here when he could just say he didn't understand the mechanical implication or something and make a clean exit from an unwinnable argument?

How does this jive with your earlier points that one of scum!ben's strengths is to take an unconventional post and sell it (?i can't remember exactly what you said)

And he might have been a hasty wolf when it came to moving forward with plans, but he was a plotter by nature.  He didn't just yolo into the thread and do whatever and hope it sticks.

I liked this last night, it's a little awkward sounding but the thought process seems quite convoluted if mafia

That was one of Ben's strong points as Mafia last game--his ability to give an unorthodox reaponse and stick to it under inquery. Not sure the extent to which that applies here sans coffee and a shower but my thought in the moment was it was NAI.

Good question.  Does it jive?

It was his method of recovering from f ups.  It's what he did when Liz caught him in a slip (though he honestly didn't know he slipped, I think it was a subconsciously legit one) and if he's scum it's probably what he did when his argument with me started to become untenable due to the amount of stuff he was blatantly taking out of context.

He also took an out when he could with Liz (some cheeseball line about "I didn't know that this was her meta" that everyone bought lol) and he didn't really need to with me because I town read him in the moment.

I guess my thinking here is he'll stand his ground on what he says but still try to get out of uncomfortable situations; maybe the consistency of stance isn't as important as the little punch he tacked on at the end.  He's inviting Turin to fire back here.

@Shad my read on you from day 2/3 onwards was pretty much based entirely on postcount and the fact that there are only a few players who can 'lead' that way. The fact that wolf!you can post double the next player is now part of your meta which means you no longer get an easy pass for range. That said nothing you've said has particularly bothered me (except the early you/ben thing which still reads awkwardly) so you get to be an uneasy townread until/unless I get some real time to sit down and read through

Fair but unfortunate I guess.

I still think I have some fairly obvious tells that have nothing directly to do with my post count and I kind of shipped them straight at you earlier in this game.

Posted

@Shad how much does it help if I tell you I feel exactly the same about me, yet you're still uneasy reading me?

In-game or out-of-game?

I kind of feel like our back and forth tonight is what I've been waiting for for most of the game in order to feel good about you tbh.

I guess that it's a matter of I had a general idea of what I was looking for irt you and it doesn't seem like you do irt me, but it's becoming a moot point.

Posted

you're uneasy reading me out of game </3

More like </3 that you don't know my game as thoroughly as I thought you did and maybe that's mutual

Do I need to be worried about Chris?

Like, I'm not going to lie. I'm not worried about Chris.

I've been trying to keep it honest with him to some extent and you two not jiving makes me worry about both of you independently of anything he actually says but

He posts and I just see a villager trying to solve the game.

Do I need to be worried about Chris?

Newsflash:  Tiink is town

More at 11.

Ben is also still town.

So am I.

Turin probably town.

The emphasis is obviously intentional so there's that but

Really?

If Turin flips scum lover you're his partner ~always.

I just don't get how an experienced player is more cautious about Turin than about Tiink and Ben in this situation.

It's not because the possibility does not exist that Turin is a wolf. It does exist.

I just can't wrap my head around even caring.

This is twice that Ben has used AtE in this day phase.  AtE in itself is not really alignment indicative, but again.....the way people are using techniques is what gives me the read.

The way Tiink uses wagonomics, the way Ben uses AtE.  I've made reads my whole mafia "career" on these types of posts, and while I've been wrong plenty.....I've been right more often on them, so I'll stick with it.

I'll take your Ben argument with zero dispute. The wagonomics thing is weird to me because it's fairly objective (I asked you another question related to this a bit ago). What's special about the way he uses it?
