You interpreted two things I've said as "pushes" on you that really weren't, as far as I would define the term.  I would like a better understanding of how you process these things, to determine whether the thought is honest.  You explained yourself in the first case; I would like for you to explain the second.

Okay, the two pushes are openly claiming wolf with me, and then the second push which I felt I explained pretty well in the long multiquote post that I opened with this morning. What part of that explanation needs clarifying?

Saying "I'm a wolf," which can be played off as a joke or an attempt to get a reaction and read from someone else and offering a way to evaluate one's play as either town or wolf are not the same. The latter carries the greater risk, which made it townier, but your continued push on me is making me think you're scum.

Don't like the shade here. If you were trying to get a reaction out of me other than what you received, you could just as easily have said so. Instead, you called my response "unorthodox." How is it unorthodox? You connect unorthodox responses with my mafia game, then anticipate that I will stick with my response (because why wouldn't I?)  and call that scummy too before pretending to back off with a backhanded note that without being awake yet, it looks NAI. This makes the entire exchange that you started with me feel like a set up and puts you into the scum pile for me.

 

might want to reread that one boo because I never called anything you did scummy.  BFG called something you said villagery; I said, well, not really.

 

Yes, and coupled with claiming wolf with me to start the game, it is a push. For whatever reason, you decided to come at me out of left field to start this game. My initial thought was that you did it to get a read on me, but atp, it is starting to feel like you just came out of the wolf den with the intent of taking me down right away if you could, or leaving me bleeding and set up for a mislynch later if you couldn't.

 

Taken in that context, I suppose faking an attempt to figure me out is all you really can do, since the only thing you don't know is if I have a PR or not.

Yes. We are in real time now (more or less, as I bounce between here and Castle Age), but there is a lag with everything else.

I am open minded. I have yet to tunnel on you this game, but right now, you are the only one who looks scummy, while a couple of people appear town. Show me you're a villager and maintain it, and I'll consider you a villager and maintain it.

Because I am no longer active in the other game, I have time to spend on this one, but I will not spend it engaging in your jokes about mafia chat or some "fake attempt" to figure me out. I think that's reasonable and straightforward unless it skirts rules about mentioning ongoing games, but since there is nothing substantive in my two posts about the other game (I am playing another game/ I am no longer playing another game), I feel like it is acceptable. If not, sort me out on it, or let Sooh, since she's playing here and is a mod on the other site. *shrug*

I've been open and accountable for everything I've posted. Nice try to paint me as unaccountable, though. Also, nice try to imply that my arguments are derailed.

Ben, I think what Shad is saying is that he's going to attempt to figure you out, regardless of his alignment. If he's town, it's for real. If he's scum, he has to pretend. Even if you're both scum he has to pretend to figure you out. 

 

I don't think there's any reason to be offended about him using the word fake in this context.

You keep insisting that I openly claimed that my attempt to figure you out was fake.

 

I did not say this. I rebuffed what I took to be an accusation of OMGUS by stating that I have to necessarily either be a villager attempting to figure you out or a wolf faking an attempt to figure you out.

 

Do you understand the difference?

 

Literally "I am a wolf" vs "I am either a villager or a wolf".

You hid in meta, tried to pocket people, played a mediator which made it hard to see an agenda and cast subtle aspersions on people the way you are doing with me in this game. The real attack on me is not openly claiming that we're scumbros; it's how you phrase references to my posts, using words like stubborn, derail, accountable, without coffee and a shower, I'd say it's NAI, etc. You came at me with a jokey, friendly, off-the-wall thing, and when I simply claimed town and didn't argue argue beyond that, giving you no lever to paint me as a wolf, you started trying to subtly erode what I say and am likely to say or do (like sticking to an honest position) by discrediting it with carefully-chosen adjectives. You are a wordsmith, and you are crafting your words to color the other players' perceptions of whatever I might say. This is what you did in the last game, too. That's my general takeaway on your scum game.
