With permission....I am asking for donations. Please read the following.

I am honored to be selected to join the Hope Without Borders May 2018 mission trip to Kenya and Tanzania as part of the Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) Nurse Practitioner Program.

Hope Without Borders-International is a non-profit volunteer humanitarian, non-governmental organization based in the Midwest USA with a focus on global, regional, and local community relief, as well as development, impact, and outreach. They are committed to bringing HOPE to communities in need by providing medical care, education, and clean water. Their mission is to empower and work together with individuals and communities to improve quality of life and to alleviate poverty, suffering, and injustice.

The current needs in Kenya and Tanzania stem from a lack of access to medical care, clean water, and sanitation. We will be serving in the slums of Kenya and in the rural areas of Tanzania. Our mission is focused on improving the health of communities and families throughout these two countries. We will provide desperately needed health care such as immunizations, sick child care, and treatment of many chronic diseases. We will continue the CUW clean water projects by bringing water purification systems to schools and villages. And we will help advance the Red Elephant project, which distributes sanitary pad kits to girls who would otherwise drop out of school to avoid the embarrassment this brings to them. Hope Without Borders has been able to distribute more than 800 "hygiene" packs to women and school girls in Kenya, Tanzania, and Nepal in 2014/2015. In May 2017, the volunteering students from CUW were able to bring 200 of those packs to Kenya for distribution. My class of 2018 hopes to distribute even more!

My time and service can do wonders for these communities, however, this is a costly trip and not covered by my tuition. It is my goal to raise the $4,400 needed by September 15th, 2017 in order to enrich my learning and future practice, and to give aid to these less fortunate nations. Though this sounds like a lot of money to raise in such a short period of time, my brother has offered to match every donation I receive, dollar for dollar!

Hope Without Borders is a 501©3 charitable organization; all donations are tax deductible.

Scrolling down didn't take me to a red icon, but clicking "Donate" at the top did. I live check-to-check, primarily because I am not thrifty, but nevertheless, broke is broke, so my donation was also small, but it is heartfelt. Good luck!

Thanks Ry, the deadline is 9/8 actually. They just moved it up!
