OMG TMW you look up and you're still effing 18 friggin 20 ppp away from being caught up. What is this site even?

Also, is this a week long day phase? Headdesk, I guess there's a first time for trying everything.

3rd thing, I should be like Zander and post as I catch up, I get ready or make a note of addressing something and then someone 15 pages later says the exact thing I was planning to address.  (Hint - It's usually Clov, and once by a guy that surprised me).

I guess I'll try and have a bigger more thought out thing of a thing once I get caught up.

And great, this place has linki's

Linz and spades are right. I'm not running at full right now. I forgot to have a break between games and am a little burned out. There are a lot of people in this game I'm either not familiar with or am bad at reading. And not much has been jumping out at me to comment about.

I'll get there, just give me some time.

I'm not voting for Darthe today. I'm enjoying him way too much.

Is he mafia? tbd.

Lol I was gonna say basically this when I was done catching up. This works too.

Mental health comes before games like this, take care of yourself and I hope to see some good reads soon.

Clov we havent talked much really. I dont quite know what to talk to you about but id love to be in your head more.

Sup.

@Chris: Wanna explain how to use that particular morsel of jargon please?

When somebody says "Player X townspewed themselves", it pretty much always indicates they revealed possessing some sort of concrete information that mafia just wouldn't reasonably have OR doesn't have information that mafia DOES have. Put another way, they said something that (essentially) makes it impossible for them to be scum .

My 2c on the matter.

The term "spewed" is commonly used about the interactions of a flipped scum.

Player x spewed player y town because of that.

Zander connecting your using the word spewed with suspicion makes sense.

It doesn't make sense in context for scum to say spew about their own read, so I don't think the suspicion is justified. Never heard of someone using it the way Cory is describing so /shrug

K, tone read. That helps. Not all that descriptive, but it's something.

again, it's the way you go about stuff

and given how late it is i might be making this up

but i still agree with Cuth From 30 Hours Ago so i feel a bit better about it

i like this post the most out of cuth's catchup posts. Mostly because it seems like he had an early read and couldn't remember why but still agrees with the feeling the read gave him and is trusting his gut. I get that sort of thing and dig it.

as for why im voting fleeing coward, didn't think his 2 entry posts were that hot. and other than fredwood there is a little something from everyone else that i've dug and fredwood is attempting to catch up.

#latenightwithbop

I kinda hope fredwood comes out super villagy and tomorrow fleeing coward comes back villagy because it would make me have to really re-evaluaste my middling reads and im kind of getting an odd bit of excitement from the possibility of having to do so

MOD ANNOUNCEMENT:

Fleeing Coward is replacing Aquilla

Fredwood is replacing Ted Bundy

Do not discuss subs

Ohhhh. Ok. Bop's vote on current page makes so much more sense. I thought someone left the game and he was being coy

I'll quote it all for you and I think everything I said was pretty clear

"Well, it just doesn't look good for Cuth, imo.

I am going to try to be patient with him since he just popped back in, but I'm not a big fan of voting without real conviction. His reasoning doesn't seem to have much backbone, or at least he doesn't seem to want to give much detail atm.

The other hand I don't really see a wolf sweeping in after an absence and pointing a finger at someone drawing attention when they are already under suspicion for their lack of interest in the game."

Obviously it was about Cuth. My thought process is there. He came back in with an extremely nonchalant attitude which pinged me a bit because he didn't seem even slightly interested in explaining his vote. This is the same reason Scruffy is on my radar. I'm not accusing them of being a wolf, but I am trying to figure out why someone who claimed have been reading the thread, yet saw nothing of interest to comment on, comes in, votes and leaves very little explanation as to why. He did say he would try to elaborate tomorrow, so I look forward to hearing their perspective.

I'm also not the only one to find the three who were inactive to raise red flags. I'm very eager to hear from them because I don't think I'm making any progress in figuring anyone else out. The thread felt like it was stagnating.

I've never played with Cuth, so I'm trying to figure out is this is alignment telling or not. Iron says no, you say no. I'm asking questions so I can wrap my head around it all.

It was clear you were saying it looks bad for Cuth.  It wasn't clear whose inactivity you were referring to - the person who was pointing the finger, or who it was being pointed at.  Cuth has been inactive, but so has the person he was pushing.  It's entire possible you were saying, "He showed up and immediate went for the inactive, who had already been called out for inactivity", to essentially accuse him of jumping on an easy lynch.

I don't very much care what somebody's reads are.  I care how they got there.  If you want to accuse Cuth of potentially being mafia for sheeping easy bandwagons, that's fine.  If you want to say he could be mafia based on him doing an empty vote, that's fine.  If you want to say he's probably TOWN for it, that's fine too.  I just don't want to think your read is X for reasons Y when it's really because of reason Z.

Ok caught up, first to the good.

Sooh and Eldrick, unless there's a mechanical reason to doubt them, I'm not voting for them during this game.

Sooh: Oddly enough for her interaction with my slot.  Zara dumb, and did dumb thing.  I think Clov did a decent job of analyzing this when he weighed in on it.  And since I'm town, I  know the Zara post was a joke, and that I am in fact not that claim.  I'd like to add to the Clov post, I can quote it if need be but essentially he breaks down the 3 possibilities.  I think it being a Mafia safe claim isn't likely, because as what has been inferred by people more familiar with the source material, and just my educated guesses from the style of the nomenclature, that it being a safe claim for Mafia to me is unlikely.  For all these reasons, it's a half derp I like Sooh.  There is a minor concern, but it's more of a meta of her meta reads based on 1 game of experience.  Her tone is all over the place, but consistent with the players she's interacting with.

Eldrick...exclusively for his pushing on both sides of Scruffy.  I know one can be OMGUS, but he also challenged Darthe when he was challenging someone for their vote on Scruffy. The interaction felt very townie for me...(Again Clov pointed this out before I had to chance to bring it up...fking catch up)  I don't know, I just really like that interaction and his other content has been good for me, not necessarily from a solving standpoint but from a townie standpoint.  He's pressuring (Examples when he voted Iron and pulled on Darthe) and pulled back when they responded to him, and pressured and maintained it (ex: Scruff) when they didn't.

If I knew how to iso and easily find the post I was looking for, I'll give another specific example though.

Sooh was being questioned by Spades for taking a neutral to friendly tone with Scruff and trying to get him to respond to questions instead of hard pressuring him for his vote on Eldrick. After some discussion Eldrick pointed out how he felt his questioning was neutral of Scruffy as well, and how Scruffy's response seemed unnecessarily gruff. I felt his questioning of Scruffy's vote was indeed fair and neutral (perhaps not as sweet as Sooh), and it was a fair criticism and genuinely felt like frustration at being blown off. Dunno, that's just a strong read. If either of you are scum good on ya.

I'll also throw Clov (and I guess Cory cus they hydra but specifically Chris is getting the credit) up here, but as what you would call a light green. I don't think I'll vote for them this game either.  I hate to really go into too much detail cus pocketing, and there is no way to prove that I didn't have these same thoughts before I read where he expressed the same thoughts.

I'll stop here and catch up and post more thoughts and stuff...obviously Mrs Clovx goes up here as well.

Fredwood clearly a scummy sub. Should lynch him while we can.

Hello, I am here ready to fight the Moonmen or w/e they fight in the show.

Definitely like Fred's op over coward's. Trying to decide if it's tongue and cheek for both subbing at the same time or something else.

Either way, not a good start imo

1) Is there anybody you WOULD like to vote at this point?

2) If you think that I'm easily susceptible to people stroking my ego, you are sadly correct.

i have been

seriously underwhelmed by scruff's posts

haven't read them in a while

but the first one was alright excusable whatever not as bad as people made it out to be

the follow up was

kinda less impressive?

don't really want to lynch him d1 on a new site, but wouldn't be starkly opposed to it from what i've read

Yeah. He's got my vote because of the lackluster followup

Not what I said but ok.

I've played 2 games previous to this one. How much experience should I have picked up from only 2 games?

I try really hard to keep up when I play this game. I try really hard to understand why people do what they do. Now if I had played multiple games and have both a wolf and a village game to reference maybe I would be able to use the "meta" for these players more accurately. I only have one game for each of them. You're pressing me to what? Be confident about reads day one? All I can give you is the gut feelings and observations I try to make. Everyone here has so much more experience with this game than I do, it's really overwhelming but I try my best. And I'm not trying to use my experience as an excuse, but honestly I think relying on meta is garbage for me personally. I can try to cross-reference but I still have so much doubt. Call it an inconsistency or read what I write more carefully.

If you don't like my answers, you don't like them. I'm not changing them for you. I will try to explain myself to help you understand why I stand where I do. But literally everything I say is bad to you, it's never enough. I don't care if you think I'm a wolf, but your reasoning for picking me out of the crowd doesn't seem productive. I know my alignment and watching you waste your time on me is more frustrating than your questions themselves (Or all the !!!!!! :P).

You really stress me out, you're so intense with me and I don't understand why. I really do think you're a villager stuck, and I don't know how to help you move on so we can find the wolves.

Help me help you.

Skipping this cuz wooooords making my eyes glaze over. Quoting it so I can may be remember to read later.

I did specifically call him out for being a hypocrite, but with additional information it helped it feel less like he was trying to find an easy target and more like he has real thought process behind it. I generally like to ask questions before I mark someone down as scum. I want to give Cuth a chance before I make a read but notate things that ping me.

I'm currently trying to figure out if you're just trying to understand my thought process or pressuring me to come to a conclusion, which I clearly didn't have.

Ted claimed Sailor Venus. That's inherently null - we know mafia have fake claims, so character claims mean literally nothing this game.

Sooh reacts in a way that expresses doubt/concern? Why? Well, probably because she's Sailor Venus. That was my initial take, and I was even more confident when Sooh essentially told me "Think about it!" when I asked her why she was bringing it up.

Okay, that means Ted lied. So what? Yeah, it's not pro-town, but is it scummy when we know mafia have safe claims? He's not going to forego a legitimate safe claim to make a legitimate attempt at character claiming. Ted might be town. He might be mafia. But his post meant nothing, and my expectation is that Sooh would have known that.

So I ask her WHY she's questioning it. Like, what's the point? She says "think about it"...which implies she believes it's significant. If she's mafia and has Sailor Venus as a fake claim, nobody else is going to know Ted is lying so bringing it up does nothing. If she's mafia and doesn't have it as a fake claim, she's not going to know whether he's telling the truth. If she's Sailor Venus (a character that almost certainly would be town), she's going to have a genuine reaction.

TL;DR - I think her reaction to his claim, though pointless in terms of HER ability to solve the game, is incredibly genuinely. And given it's predicated on her being town, that means she almost certainly is.

I know next to nothing about Sailor Moon, but there is another specific reason why I dislike this claim. I read a little bit about Sailor Moon yesterday after the claim happened, and found out that my character is sort of a main character? So I was thinking PR hunting.

So youre a PR. Noted.
