One year ago today...

One year ago today, our friend Robert Jordan passed away.   One year ago today, Wilson, the "fourth brother of three", left us devestated with the announcement.   One year ago today, the media realized just how big of an announcement that was.   One year ago today, fans across the world, both casual and dedicated, dusted off their old copies of The Eye of the World and started reading again.   One year ago today, new fans heard the news, and were inspired to try out the series.   On

1994 Interview with Robert Jordan published for the first time

The LORD OF CHAOS. In the interview, RJ gives many of his trademark responses (like how he's known the end of the series since before he wrote the first book). But nonetheless, the interview is insightful, well conducted, and more than a little heart-breaking when you think of Jim's all too early passing.   You can listen to the interview at the Reality Break podcast website.

Call for web designers

Although this isn't directly related to The Wheel of Time, I wanted this call to go out as many people as possible to take advantage of the wide diversity of fan skill sets out there.   About Dragonmount.com is currently in the early stages of a major site overhaul. For nearly 12 years we have existed by using our own homebrewed HTML and design. While the site has never been unpleasant to visit (I hope!), it could use the touch of a professional designer with experience in crafting dynamic w

The Gathering Storm is #1 on the New York Times

The Gathering Storm, the twelfth book in the Wheel of Time series, debuted at the number one spot on the prestigious New York Times bestseller list. This is the fifth WoT novel to hold the spot, and the first time that author Brandon Sanderson has been there. Gathering Storm's appearance on the list ended a six or seven week reign that Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol had been holding onto.   Congratulations to Brandon Sanderson and "Team Jordan" for this outstanding effort and accomplishment. Red Eagle responds to fan feedback

After receiving a mixed response to the two news articles we posted recently (article #2), Red Eagle Entertainment took the time to directly address some of the issues that fans have brought up. Red Eagle executive Larry Mondragon actually replied in the comments section of those news articles, but we're putting them here in order for more fans to directly see them. If they seem a little out of context, it's simply because we're copy / pasting them here.   I would like to respond to the th

Knife of Dreams Now Available for Pre-Order

Knife of Dreams, book eleven of the Wheel of Time series has finally been added to Amazon's website. As always, Amazon's release date and page count are just their best guess. We're not sure yet if this is an actual description of the book, or just more guess work on Amazon's part. We're working to get confirmation and we'll update this article once we have more information

Here are some highlights:   Book 12 will be the end. He will finish the story in one more book even if it takes 1500 pages hardcover.   The full editorial review of Knife of Dreams resulted in the addition of exactly one sentence.   Q: Will we be able to tell which one?   A: No. I’m good!   Any upd

For the last five years I have had the honor of serving as the Director of Wheel of Time programming at this convention. Sweet, Teresa Patterson, co-author of the Guide, and Les and Ernst Dabel, producers of the New Spring gra
