Requiem's Achievements

  1. Rand beating Turak in the book is entirely unearned. He is losing till he assumes the void and then is still losing if slower. He goes on the attack and just wins because RJ needed him too. By this point in the books he has about a month's training with Lan and some experience after travelling with Ingtar and Co. He hasn't earned a victory against a trained and experienced blade master and that fact he wins is frankly ludicrous.
  2. It isn't about design, like you said the water jug is viewed as a weapon because Egwene is thinking of beating her captor with it. Sure you can use handcuffs as a weapon, but grabbing a pair and using them to restrain someone isn't using them as a weapon. Egwene doesn't know for sure she is right about how the a'dam works, but she is in a desperate situation and has a surprise window of opportunity. This isn't a premeditated attempt to murder Renna this is someone reacting quickly.
  3. Would you consider handcuffs a weapon? Is tying someone up with rope using a weapon? The a'dam restrains someone and a restrained person is certainly vulnerable to being attacked but that doesn't make it a weapon.
  4. That's just not true, Renna unlocked and released the adam before she died, with the expectation that if she did Egwene would do the same for her and was then shocked that Egwene let her die.
  5. Ultimately in the books the Heroes of the Horn aren't very important nor is the horn of Valere which sits gathering dust in the White Tower for the next dozen books. I just reread The Great Hunt, 4 of the heroes are named when the horn is blown and this is the first time we hear about most of them. I'd much rather spend time with characters who actually matter to the plot and are acting on the world around them, than a bunch of dead heroes most of whom don't appear until the horn is blown again at the last battle.
  6. Just watched the scene again and I think you are right. The actor is listed on IMDB as in the episode as well. So it would appear that she is dead.
  7. She isn't one of Lady Suroth's damane so I would be surprised if she was on the boat. At the end of the day collaring Aes Sedai in the books was a mixed blessing, you could still break them but it was impossible to make them break the three oaths so they were no good as magic artillery. If they are being smart about it she'll have been rescued so she can advocate for Egwene later down the line.
  8. She isn't in the xray and I went back and looked at the scene, I don't think any of the damane were the same actor
  9. The episode didn't show that at all, it certainly showed that if a damane died that would make the collar fall off, but the mere fact that Renna was capable of releasing Egwene showcases that the sul'dam can command the collar to come off.
  10. Well l, that sure is an opinion. If you hate the show that much why have you carried on watching it?
  11. Uno is the only returning character in amongst the heroes of the horn. The hero that people are assuming is Lady Amalisa, is named in the xray as Amaresu, played by a totally different actor. Stepin is also not there, Peter Franzen does not appear in Seaon 2.
  12. Eamon Valda was the driving force behind the whitecloaks attacking, Bornhald sees one of his men being savaged by a wolf and rescues him, he likely doesn't recognise Perrin and carries on trying to win the battle. Valda limps off because he is in no shape to fight anyone. It all seems perfectly reasonable to me.
  13. I find you and your opinions tiresome, your politics objectionable, regressive and poorly thought out. Anyway... I really enjoyed this episode, time will tell on the rest of the season, but I'm already more confident than I was at season 1.
