  1. No. Those weaves came from Adeleas (she's the one who tells Moiraine and Lan to cover their ears). Plenty of people believe the 'Moiraine is shielded' theory, but, again, the story is being told as if she's been Stilled, so to state with 100% certainty that she's been shielded and that the characters only think she's been Stilled is, IMO, a mistake that fails to consider the very real possibility that she has in fact been Stilled despite the VFX used to depict what happened to her being similar, if not identical, to the VFX that were used to depict the shielding of Logain in Episode 1x04 and Liandrin shielding Nynaeve in Episode 2x01.
  2. This is a 'neither here nor there' thing, but I can't help but wonder if Show!Adeleas has the same surname (Mathwin) as Verin or if her surname is still what it was in the books (Namelle).
  3. Verin specifically says "my sister" to Moiraine in reference to Adeleas during the episode. If she were referring to Adeleas with the Aes Sedai honorific of Sister, she would've used the adjective "our", not "my".
  4. And they genuinely could have been. The fact that Rand did end up being the Dragon Reborn doesn't invalidate or negate the choice that was made to genuinely create a scenario in which he potentially wasn't.
  5. I think that automatically assuming misdirection is a mistake based on what we're being shown. Could misdirection be in play? Yes. Is it equally possible that there's no misdirection involved and she really is Stilled? Yes. Which is why I say that the VFX don't matter at this point.
  6. The writers' intent here isn't foreshadowing, though. It might end up being misdirection, but as of now, the writers' clear intent is to communicate that what happened to Moiraine was a Stilling and not a shielding, regardless of what the VFX for it looked like.
  7. Not to everyone. Because the writers have very clearly approached Moiraine's Season 2 story as if she's been Stilled, the visuals used don't really matter right now. If we later learn that the writers treating Moiraine's situation as a Stilling was an intentional misdirection, then we can go back and analyze the visuals, but until/unless that happens, comparing the visual depiction of Liandrin shielding Nynaeve to what the "Dark One" did to Moiraine Kind of misses the point of the narrative being presented.
  8. Choosing to kill off Uno doesn't guarantee that more major characters are in danger of death in the show when they survived in the novels any more than changing the lore regarding reincarnation and the gendering of souls guaranteed that Rand wasn't going to be the Dragon.
  9. They weren't dead, but the show did skip over their being found and healed.
  10. Just because the show isn't showing us more than a handful of Aes Sedai so far this season doesn't mean that they're not there.
  11. Did you miss Sheriam Sedai's statement that the Aes Sedai's number is dwindling? The Tower being emptier than one might expect is a deliberate choice on the part of the writers.
  12. All of the scenes in the Ways were shot before the COVID shutdown (thanks go to WoTTuber LezbiNerdy for figuring this out), and that fact alone is enough to cast doubt on the certainty of the prevailing point of view that Mat not entering the Ways was a 'patch' to cover for Barney not coming back, at least for me.
  13. @Agitel I've said this a couple of times recently in various different threads, but I don't think we can say with 100% certainty that the end of The Flame of Tar Valon and the first bit of The Dark Along the Ways were affected by Barney's decision not to return after the COVID shutdown was lifted, so while there were undoubtedly story changes made, I think there's a distinct possibility that said changes were built on ideas that were actually planned but that would've been resolved differently if Barney hadn't left.
  14. Following this logic, you must think that West Side Story, 10 Things I Hate About You, Kiss Me Kate, Ex Machina, and The Lion King, all of which are films that wildly and diversely diverge from the William Shakespeare plays from which they were adapted, are also fanfiction, right?
  15. According to you. I can think of several die-hard book fans who would dispute that assertion.
  16. The writers are crafting Moiraine's story as if she's been Stilled; whether or not that ends up being the truth is something audiences will have to watch in order to find out, but for now, the characters are treating it as truth because they believe it to be truth.
  17. I may not personally be a fan of the novels, but there are a number of others who are fans (die-hard fans at that) who recognize and have accepted the TV series for the retelling that it is, and there's absolutely nothing disingenuous about that.
  18. They're not 'doing' anything to the 'canon'; this adaptation has zero effect whatsoever on the existence of the novels, the way the story is told in them, or one's access to or ability to enjoy them. If you don't like the television series and the way it's retelling the story, don't watch it.
  19. If you're in Arizona, I'm pretty sure the premiere time is 5 pm since, as you mentioned, DST isn't a thing there (and shouldn't be a thing anywhere else).
  20. I'd forgotten about that. The times themselves are accurate, but instead of being Standard Time, they're Daylight Time.
  21. The release time is 12 am GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), which means that if you're in the UK, you're a bit under 6 hours away from the drop. For the US, the release times are as follows: 8 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) 7 pm CST (Central Standard Time) 6 pm MST (Mountain Standard Time) 5 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time)
  22. To quote LezbiNerdy, "the evidence is there, it's in Perrin's hair", referencing the fact that Perrin has dreads in his hair in all of the scenes set in the Ways in Episode 7 but doesn't have dreads in his hair in any of the scenes in Episode 7 that are set in Fal Dara or in any of his brief scenes from Episode 8. It's entirely possible that Mat was indeed with them when the Ways scenes were shot, but it's no longer a guaranteed certainty in my mind.
  23. WoTTuber LezbiNerdy figured out that, at the very least, all of the scenes in the Ways were shot prior to the COVID shutdown and Barney's departure, which calls into question whether or not anything from those scenes was in fact reshot and whether or not Mat actually ever entered the Ways at all in the original scripts for Episodes 6 and 7.
  24. I no longer think we can say with 100% certainty that either of those things had as much of an effect on Episode 7 as we thought they did.
  25. I'm 99% certain that Hopper is the lead wolf that Perrin interacted with in Season 1.
