To this point, and one that has been raised previously, I agree that it was naive for Sarah to think she wasn't going to get this kind of blowback. Because the reality is this kind of entitled feedback - personal, visceral, violent and way past criticism - from fans is now common in every artform, genre and property. WoT has been moderately bad, LOTR was worse, but Star Wars was way, way, way worse - like hire bodyguards and shrinks worse. It happens to musicians all the time, as well.
Yeah, you're absolutely right. I remember the backlash Rian Johnson got for TLJ. I just didn't realize that it had gotten so bad for WoT, to the point where people were telling the showrunners to kill themselves. That's just rotten.
I wasn't happy with the way the show ultimately turned out, and I have a lot of problems with the direction Rafe went. But I'm not so entitled that I'm going to tell the dude to drink bleach or anything. That just seems completely nuts.

Anyway, bit of a diversion from the topic at hand, but to get back to my original point, my own Star Wars comparison would be The Last Jedi vs. Rise of Skywalker. I know it's very divisive but TLJ is honestly right up there in the top tier of SW movies for me, whereas ROS is wayyyy at the bottom. But how the saga ended doesn't really impact the other movies for me at all, including TLJ which is directly impacted by it in terms of completing the story for those characters.
Wow, I don't meet too many other people who speak highly of The Last Jedi. When I first watched it I put it at the top, too. Right under Empire. Unfortunately, I thought Rise of Skywalker made it a worse movie and I don't enjoy it as much knowing how things got retconned.
I caught a lot of hell on the internet for defending TLJ at the time though ?
Reminds of another divisive series..

Isn't Episode 6 called "The Flame of Tar Valon?"

What a silly wall structure... Really? They need balistraria/arrow slits so strangely oversized weakening the wall structure AND need them as low as the second floor where basically the one thing they are defending against (trollocs) can easily climb to them? It's a structure designed to be defeated by trollocs. When they mentioned they had darkfriends within Fal Dara, they must have meant all the engineers.
More like Darwin's Gap.

Yup, that was my issue with the scene, it was completely incomprehensible because there were no subtitles for me.

Non of my friends are still watching. And they certainly aren't going to read the books now, no matter how much I jump up and down screaming the books aren't so shite as the show.
I didn't even consider this. I wonder how many people Rafe is completely ruining Wheel of Time for? I have to wonder if my introduction to Jordan's world was through Rafe's lense, would that make me not want to read the books? That's an unfortunate outcome.

Seems rather pointless to tidal wave a long stretch of coast if your target is a village. Clearly it's meant to awe the viewer, but it's rather pointless to do. Which is why I thought it would have a better effect to have the people in Falme standing there watching the tidal wave come, then just a little girl alone on a beach.
What we obviously didn't see is that the Seanchan are avid surfers, and after a long journey they just wanted to catch the most righteous wave possible.

Is there A Look Inside Episode 7? I didn't see it last night after watching the episode.

So, if the show releases at 12:00am GMT and I'm in the US in MST time, I should be able to watch the next episode at 7:30 pm tonight? Is that correct?
I've been waiting until Friday nights and hadn't really looked into when the episodes are actually available. But if I can watch it a night early that would be awesome. Is that the case?

I disagree, and believe that even once the identity of the Dragon Reborn is revealed within the show and other characters also begin seeing their importance to the story increased, Rosamund Pike will continue to appear at the top of cast lists, be promoted as the Series Lead, have her name appear first in the Opening Titles of the series and see her character significantly featured in some capacity for as long as she remains a part of its cast.
I'd actually be OK with that. Pike is doing such a great job with the character, I wouldn't be mad to have her stay as the main character.
I guess we'll see what happens, if the show is successful enough to keep going after Season 2. As mentioned above, I'm hoping the series emphasizes the complexity of Rand's and Moiraine's relationship, showing how Rand comes to rely on her and thus making her disappearance that much more impactful. Maybe that's the point when Rand replaces her as the lead role?

Using specific terms like "lead" and following internal industry practices like explicitly naming her and only her in the official logline, isting Rosamund Pike as the very first person on all cast sheets, and seeking out actresses for Moiraine before looking to cast any of the other roles are pretty direct signals that the WoT TV series was developed as an adaptation with Moiraine at its center even though the story is not directly hers.
I'd say this is true for the first, and maybe even second seasons. She is top billed.
But this will change as Rand takes center stage and becomes the lead after a couple seasons.

Much like wasps and yellowjackets, I have no idea why they exist, to me they serve no purpose but the Creator made them for some reason which is beyond my understanding... and therefore they continue to remain.
The existence of wasps is proof that god does not exist.
And if he does, he f***ing hates us.

And I don't believe at all that he stole the armlet. Maybe we are meant to think so, but to me it just doesn't fit at all with the character as portrayed in the show.
I thought the show made it pretty clear, when Fain asked Mat if he could resell the bracelet in Emond's Field, that the bracelet was contraband.

So anyone not that age should not even be in the conversation.
This is exactly what I was thinking. It seemed like Moiraine ruled Nynaeve out during their conversation at the pool when she realized Nyn was 25 or 26 years old. So that would leave Perrin, Mat, Egwene, and Rand.
I don't know, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the Dragon Reborn is going to be Rand.
-
I'm glad Rafe is taking some liberties. If not, by the time we got to Crossroads of Twilight we would have an entire season on what color the women's nails are and how pretty their dresses are, and how they wear their hair when Rand comes to visit.
And then Egwene gets kidnapped at the end.

I know people have this theory. I personally don't see it yet. But, which forsaken do you think it is?
I don't know, man. Moghedien maybe because she can dreamwalk? With all the changes it could be anyone, I just instantly thought "Forsaken!" when I first saw them. It could very well be just the madness from the taint itself.
-
Loved Ep4! I think this show is really starting to find its own way. The departures from the book keeps it fresh for those of us familiar with the story while keeping it faithful to the spirit of the characters. I'm digging it.
Also, how crazy was it that the Forsaken were talking to Logain through the taint??

I thought Luke projecting himself across the galaxy as a physical manifestation was the absolute coolest use of the Force I'd ever seen. It was like he metaphorically "Skywalked" across the galaxy, and fulfilled his namesake.
