There is no reason to assume anything more than that, and the reason to change it may well be just to change the silliness of Egwene's reason for joining them. 

 

Re the Dragon being potentially female, I have seen quoted elsewhere that RJ said in some turnings the "saviour" is the soul of Amaresu. See eg http://13depository.blogspot.com/2002/02/some-sort-of-balance-is-perfect-wheel.html#pattern

 

The Pattern has three graces, or self-correcting mechanisms, to make sure it does not drift off-course, and remains in balance on the whole: ta’veren, Heroes of the Horn, and finally, the ultimate Hero and ta’veren, the Dragon (in some Ages). There is a female saviour equivalent, Amaresu, who we saw among the Heroes, who is born in other Ages as required (Robert Jordan at booksignings). There may be Ages where no such saviour figure, male or female, is required.

 

If so, the change here is minimal. All it requires is that the should of the saviour can sometimes be male (saidin) and sometimes female (saidar). What changes the story about that? And conceptually RJ himself said it can be. 

Yes, the savior for the age can be either male or female. The dragon is always male. So, if you ditch the idea of the dragon reborn for this age, then yes a female could be the savior.

This was one of my favorite teasers except for the winespring clip. Loved the shield that blocked the spear, and the looks on the soldiers’ faces. Optimism continuing to rise.

I thought the clip was great. Yeah the entrance was on the cheesy side but still enjoyed it. I also think that guy playing me is going to crush it.

Many of the prophecies are significant. Most if not all dragon reborn ones. Mat for sure. Maybe expand on the dark prophecies as well. Perhaps a foretelling for Egwene.

I just had to mention that I’m still on my first read. About 2/3 way through The Gathering Storm. My plan has been to finish right before the show started. Going to be a great time! I’m getting my relatives interested in it also.

I found tbe interview with Rafe cringeworthy to be honest. and tbe waygate  isn't even close. If those are weaves tbey look pretty decent. My expectations are tempered but ressrving judgement until it airs.

But having Logain as a protagonist doesn't "botch things up" at all...

But if you've only read EotW than I can see how you'd think that. 

 

I’m on The Gathering Storm currently. I meant the “main” protagonist.

The possibility of Logain being the protagonist scares me. Surely they won’t botch it up that badly.

So based on last post she's 35-ish. I think they can make her the part/believable, more important is her acting and chemistry with me...err other Rand. I forget sometimes.

I would say don’t even THINK about cutting Min. That would be a disaster. Also I’ve heard talk of Rand not having his 3 loves...which would be another big mistake.
