There is so much "drama" in my life, and I find peace in reading. I am hoping that I can regain my muse (it has been sadly absent for a while now), and can resume writing. I miss it.

I am finding bits of wisdom as I read, and so I am trying to use that for encouragement in my own life. I do not have many friends, as I tend to be a quiet, private individual, but those I do claim as friends, I am extremely loyal to. One of my girlfriends is my sister, we are sisters by choice, not by blood, but we have been there for each other through a great deal in our lives.

My hope is to venture out a bit more, among those with similar appreciations, and try to learn more about myself.

No offense taken. The name I chose for here was as close a rendering I could of my own name with some historical context and play on abbreviations, and such, to make it sound a bit more appropriate.

I like nicknames. I am sure I will earn one soon enough.

The site is lovely. (Came across the site by looking around for more information on The Wheel of Time. Wandered in, looked around, and was like, yup, I need to join.)Just trying to learn my way around. And am waiting for certain aspects to become available to me so that I can begin my "classes". Eager to learn.

I read the books ages ago. I'm currently going through some major changes in my life, and am emotionally drained, and so returned to reading. I picked up The Wheel of Time and was immediately drawn in. It's interesting how you can revisit something and find things that somehow eluded you before. I am so happy I began reading this series again. So far, I am up to book three.

My favorite character? I can only pick one? I'm drawn to different characters for different reasons. But at the moment, I am drawn to Lan. He is strong, and holds a great deal inside. Loyal. Dedicated. Quiet most of the time, but intelligent. And tragic. Mind you, this is what I have gathered from the first two books. But I see a reflection of myself in him a great deal of the time.

Yes, I am new to Dragonmount. So very glad I found my way here.

(Looks at name. Sighs) I was trying to find one that was a good representation of myself here, in this world, but I guess it's a bit long. A nickname would probably be good.

I still like tea. And there are certain blends I use at certain times to achieve certain goals. Teas can do wanders for sore throats, stomach aches, and other ailments. But it can also be simply enjoyed.

Oh, I seldom drink coffee black. I need sugar, at least, though usually creamer as well. And I still consider it coffee. Yum!

Everything sounds so wonderful. I am certainly getting hungry now. (Sips coffee)

My favorite picnic beverage is lemonade, as it is tart, sweet, and refreshing. I also like to use lemon juice on my salads instead of dressing. A little lemon juice and a sprinkle of salt does nicely.

As to dessert, I enjoy pie. My favorite is pecan, though a close second is coconut cream.

Oh, and I am definitely getting hungry now.

Hello, everyone. Obviously I am new here, so don't mind me. Just trying to get used to faces and names.

(Slowly steps back to watch and learn.)

As I have recently begun to reread the series, I am relearning about the Ajah. At this particular moment, I would have to say I would most likely be Brown Ajah.

I am fascinated by gaining knowledge and learning. As a child I often sat on the floor reading from the encyclopedia, just random entries because something caught my interest. I worked at a museum for ten years and gained my BA in History, followed my a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies (emphasis in history). Even now, it is not uncommon for some random comment or news tidbit to begin me on a hunt for more knowledge on the topic.

I am sure as I continue to read, and learn more about the other Ajah, I may learn that a different one would be more suited for me. I am so glad that I have rediscovered this world, and that it called to me, and led me here.

I used to drink a great deal more tea. Then a few years ago, I discovered coffee. And I liked it. And perhaps now I drink a bit too much of it at my current job, but they offer it free, and it does help me to get through the day. However, on the weekends, I get to take time and truly enjoy my coffee.

Oh, and thank you for seeing to my application. I know an adventure lays before me, and I am ready to see where the road leads.

I have done a little wandering and have submitted my application for The White Tower and Warders. I suppose one question would be, can I join more than one community within the Social Groups? I would gather yes, but figure there is no harm in asking.

I am slowly getting used to the lay of the land, and look forward to meeting other members of the community.

The artwork in the signatures, and scattered among the posts, amazes me. Talents folks have developed never fail to amaze me.

And so, while I wait for my coffee to finish brewing, I shall wander some more.

I am so glad I found this site. I read the series years ago. And now that I am a bit older, and hopefully wiser, I am rereading it, and discovering a world that I had not managed to see the first time though (I had seen it, but know I see it more vividly, and am so glad that I returned). I have completed the first two books, and have begun the third, and am eager to continue the journey. I am learning. And so I decided, I might as well join a group such as this as I proceed along my journey. I hope you do not mind me joining you all.

And so, this is my first post. (Looks about, trying to decide where to venture next.)

Not sure what all to reveal about myself, but I will say that I am an avid fantasy fan, and have been most of my life. I enjoy reading (obviously), and writing (though my muse has been lacking as of late). Whenever I am able, I am walking, though I prefer hiking in the woods. There are a great many things I would like the opportunity to do, and perhaps this is the start of venturing more out into the world.
