He was pretty loud D1. Would a wolf target a loud townie if they're putting a wagon on a known town?

D1 lynch is hardest to get right (imo) and it's too often you see players get serious pressure for having a wrong read on d1. Darthe also stop pushing dice and pushed the Hallia wagon instead which was (and still is, but probably less) not 'known town'. But even if it was, I don't think it'd matter too much.

Basically - its an uninformed majority vs informed minority game, so the biggest problem for the mafia team is if the villagers start recognizing each other as villagers and build wagons together. If the village is mostly fractured, the fact that the mafia have multiple co-ordinated votes is a much bigger advantage than if the villagers are all voting together and you have no control who they are voting for.

Did you believe there' was a good chance a wolf would actually attempt to NK him? Or was it just an insurance policy and you thought they might NK someone else?

Honestly I'm used to wolves on DM focus mostly on killing loud townies who are capable of rallying others, as these are really your biggest threats outside of the more important PRs. I didn't strongly feel the wolves were going to attempt on Darthe so insurance is the more direct answer. But if I had a strong feeling the wolves would target someone else I would have gone with that instead.

On D1 when I claimed Verb could be a PR, and ya'll got mad at me for saying PR's out loud, Why'd you protect Darthe instead of Verb?

I never considered it all tbh. I don't see the wolves shooting Verb there over some PR spec when Verb is within the poe and there's lots of vocal villagers about. Mostly I just wanted to get Darthe to D2. whoops

  4. A lot of this will rest on Verb's claim/role. Couple ways we could go back to an odd number and potentially earn another lynch. The claim overall I think was +EV for town regardless of whether or not it's true or false

Do you think there's a high chance of at least two wolves in clov/hally/verb/sinister?

yeah actually, i would guess ~2 in that group

if you expanded it to leelou i think that's probably a gamewinning poe.

This is what I had for notes last night anti-teams.  These are entirely independent of any reads I had on anyone and based entirely on interactions with each other:

    voodoo/SD

    AJ/hallia

    hallia/leelou????

    hallia/darthe

    AJ/leelou??

    darthe/voodoo

    SD/Verb
    SD/Chris?????

    SD/leelou

    cory/hallia??

    Chris/leelou

    voodoo/hallia???

    dead anti-teams:

    dice/SD
    dice/hallia
    zander/verb
    zander/SD

I'm not going to explain all of them, but I'm going to explain the question mark ones and if anyone has any questions or disagrees with the others, lmk and we can talk through it.

I was most unsure about SD/Chris because I hate making anti-pairs on anything Chris says.  I absolutely think he could have made that post defending SD as either alignment, and probably would make that post as either alignment.  I still don't think he would let his newbie teammate be that clueless about how the game of mafia works.

voodoo/hallia is another one I had trouble with because I could see in a world where hallia thinks she's going to get yeeted, she tells newbie voodoo to vote there for town cred, and if she doesn't get yeeted, they look a lot less like teammates.  I do not think voodoo would probably vote there without hallia specifically telling him and I have no idea how hallia feels about bussing/being bussed.  So if someone could enlighten me on that, that'd be great.

hallia/leelou was odd to me because everyone thought they were teamed, but leelou dropped their first actual read on hallia as a light town read.  the number of times i've seen a teammate town read their teammate out of the gate, even a light town read, is not a ton.

AJ/leelou I took Chris's read to heart on AJ here where he thought it was super unlikely that AJ just throws out a townread on a teammate super early the way he did.

Cory/hallia was largely vote based.  Cory had no reason to move his vote to hallia, especially when a couple of people still need to place votes, and then let zander to decide where to vote.  It just seems unnecessarily risky when you have a perfectly viable misyeet in dice.

Yeah, I think most of this shakes out @TrippedOnReality

I’m similarly apprehensive about anti-teams involving Chris because he’s pretty conscious as a wolf about interacting with teammates in ways designed to fool townies. I do think a wolf flip would look good for Leelou but wouldn’t move my needle personally for Verb or SD.

Aj/Hallia are definitely not teamed. One nice thing about the d1 wagons is that Hallia has fewer and fewer mafia teams she could be in that make sense.

Don’t have any pairings to add atm

What I don't like is that no one else jumped in the wagon and started rolling with it.  Do you have the same sorta gamesense I do right now?

at a very birds eye view i don't think wolves have a lot of control over the thread but villagers have been mostly suspecting villagers.

  8. Darthe is pretty charismatic and can get people to do things. As someone who's also very accomplished at accidentally driving games off of cliffs following a hunch I don't think Darthe will take offense to me saying he can do it with the best of em.

Our v/v games are almost always a mess. We managed to get through d1 this time though which is pretty good for us

(tbh I was mildly sketched out by yesterday's Cory wrt me because I felt like I was being super towny this game and it's like WHY AREN'T YOU SEEING IT)

we usually get there, its not always instant 😛

I still need to know why Cory would out as PR doc. Mad or not for real, that seems like an astoundingly odd play.

The threat of being speed lynched. Its was probably compulsive of me but what's done is done

My reaction might have been hypervigilant but its kind of the last thing you want to see as a PR ("lets vote this guy out without letting him talk")

Cory on your reread can you find out of clov is a wolf?  Assuming you’re not, two of him, AJ, and voodoo basically have to be.

Im claiming the right to one more snippy passive-aggressive comment (but this will be the last one)

"Oh, you want me to do the thing I literally said I was about to do before you distracted me?"

Second, if you are villa, wouldn't this be really spiteful? Bad info for wolves to know either way.

It is bad info for the wolves, but I can't really gauge how serious Darthe is, and I've seen people get majjed very quick when there is a very obvious villager calling for votes

Town PRs getting killed is bad / town PRs getting lynched is worse since it robs town the chance to catch a wolf
