Zander could be town, sure. I could be as well. If you need to lynch me to move the game along for town, go for it. But I don't know if lynching me does that. Hell, I don't know if lynching Zander does either, and I'm voting Lenlo currently, so there's that.

I'm curious about the case syntax as well there. And for me, I have no idea what my meta would be now - it's been too long. I think I used to be better at being scum/3p, and barely average at being town. I'd venture that I'm probably average now as scum, and pretty crap at being town now, heh.

Don't let yourself fall into the trap of thinking the second style doesn't work, or isn't well-informed. I did that at first, and players like Cory and Clov showed me it can be done well (just like the older style). Maybe things improve with time, who knows. Maybe my method is outdated and I need to adopt a different style. I know guys like Shad and AJ then came and kicked some @$$ with that second style and won plenty of games. So it works.

Regardless of your alignment this game, what you see is a fundamental difference in how the game is played. You and I come from a time when wagonomics and analysis (obv useless D1) was the primary driving force on scumhunting. You can see this method work wonders in the first few seasons of the mafia championship. Then a newer crowd came in and played differently. I'm not saying it's better or worse, just different. That's where the "lock clear" and "D1 pass" and "tone" come from. For a player like me, it's impossible to align with that type of alternative style, and it always rubs me the wrong way. All that said, that's a me problem, and maybe doesn't apply to you. Part of the reason I'm playing again is I'm trying to better understand and work with this other style that I admittedly hate so much. I'm too stubborn and I'm trying to fix that.

What does me being nitpicky on verbiage have to do with being scum? The post with the ??? was because I know there are 3 scum and I only listed 2 potentials....so the 3rd is a complete unknown and therefore reflected with a ???

The acronym means what I said it means - DM has just tweaked it a little to mean "playstyle", but it's really more "playstyle that works for that person"...aka most effective tactic. Tomato, tomahto, right?

Ah, ok. I think we just use the term meta differently. So you're saying you're a "gut player" and not an "analytical player". Meta is what works, aka the "most effective tactics available", or what playstyle is working best at the time. So, your meta is to use your gut to read players. Cool beans, I can get down with that.
