  1. Holding her head in the tilted position, Maev frowned slightly and chewed on her lower lip as she studied the possible Trainee below. The voice that came out amidst the snide remarks was a little higher than a younger mans, but something told her she was staring at a female. Not wanting to be rude, Maev did not press that particular matter. Light, nothing but bad could come out of that conversation!

At first, the Trainee sounded alot like the man she had met in her first week of training, Aran. That had not been pleasant. The way that this person before her sounded like him, just so happened to be the tongue-in-cheek comments. It seemed that everyone at the White Tower had a strange sense of humour about them. Not that she had spoken to that many people. Maev kept to herself, and indulged only in her training.

"Well, Peace favour you, then." Maev was about to turn on her heal and leave, when she decided that she really had not gotten to know anyone in Tar Valon. She had not been willing to give anyone a chance. Was it because she was shy? No, she had never really considered herself as such, before. She had been put in situations in the camps of the Shienaran Warriors and had never felt odd. Was that because her father had been close by? Surely not.

    No, not my father. Shein.

Turning back to the Trainee, Maev breathed in deeply and spoke,"Well, how do you find time to rest when there is so much work to be done? Work and training." It never occured to her that others might rest when there was a slight break between chores and training. Another thought occured to her, and although she thought the soul before her was slightly odd, she figured she would do for them what no one had done for her when she arrived.

"You said you're new? I'm fairly new as well. Perhaps I could show you around. Atleast to the places that I'm aware of." Maev turned slightly, the sun outlining her silhouette and where the sweat she had produced that morning, made her clothes cling to her form. "By the way, I'm Maev." She held out her hand to the person before her.

  2. No, things never seemed to get worse than they were, but it alway seemed to happen anyways. A phenomenon, perhaps. Be civil? Was this his idea of some kind of joke? Her eyebrow seemed to arch again, and a hint of a sarcastic smile approached her lips. "Surely, this is some type of joke. You wish me to be civil to you? I think you must be suffering from some kind of delusion. Perhaps you have forgotten the events of the past few days." She wanted to call him 'boy', however part of her wished to refuse any acknowledgement of his existance.

Attempting to appear at peace, she stretched one hand out in her lap so she would not ball it up into a fist again. The other hand remained tightly clasped into a fist. It was most likely an odd appearance, but it was all she could do. All her years of training. Years and years of controling her emotions, hiding behind a mask of cool serenity, lost to an unfortunate and brutal bonding.

Her eyes grew even more fierce. Like a green fire lapping at rotting wood. "You bonded me against my will!" Her tone full of accusation. "I cannot just cast aside that fact and pretend as if everything is fine and beautiful. This is not a celebration. Atleast not for me." It may have been an exciting or riveting tale for one of her Sisters to tell, but not for her. Yes, she secretly studied Saidin and had been fascinated by it for quite some time. But NEVER to be bonded to one so closely linked with the Taint.

She cast aside the question of her name as if she had never heard the words come out of his mouth. She could not lie, being bound to the Three Oaths; However, she did not have to speak when spoken to, so she could lie by omission.

Suddenly, a thought came to her. Looking up into his eyes, she asked. "What will you all do with us?"

  3. Maev's legs stretched out long before her, as she ran the usual track of the Yards. Deeply she breathed in...and out. Her mind always seemed to clear the moment she sought the inner peace that came with her morning jog. Tall and lithe, the Shienaran Trainee moved quickly, smoothly and light on her feet. Her height may have made any other woman either too studious in appearance, or incredibly clumsy. For some reason, movement had always come easy to her.

Breathing in an extra deep breath, Maev longed to be able to run slightly longer than she was alotted. Soon, her thoughts would be replaced by the monotonous anger, rage and worry that she focused mainly on her parents...No, not parents....Shein Kiyosa and Delaine, the people that took her in when she was young and for lack of a better term, abandoned. The familiar cold ball of tension clasped at her heart and seemed to expand in her chest.

Shaking her head and running a tanned hand through her short white-blonde hair, she grasped a chunk of it in her fist and made as if she might pull it all out. Her mentor had warned  her about feelings, and mentioned training her mind with some silly symbolism of a Flame and a Void. Something about feeding all her emotions into it. It sounded like a bunch of drivel to her. She would be a fierce warrior one day, but it had nothing to do with her emotions.

The sun had already peaked over the horizon, spilling its glory out over the Yards and gleaming off of the columns, spires and turrets of the White Tower. Maev was not interested. Instead of being able to sit and enjoy such a glorious sight and be greatful of where she was that day, she snatched up a lathe and headed for a semi-secluded place in the yards. A copse of trees seemed to be a wonderful place to hang out and practice.

As she ran towards the cluster of trees, her feet hardly made a sound. If they had, however, they might have disturbed the only other person that had found her little get-a-way. Biting the inside of her cheek an shaking her head, Maev's silver-blue eyes scanned the resting soul. "Not again." She mumbled.

Maev had  made the mistake of attacking a Tower Guard in her first week of being at the White Tower. She had thought he was a slacking trainee. She would NOT make the same mistake twice.

Tilting her head to the side, she looked down at the person leaning up against the tree. "Um... Is there somewhere else you might rather be right now?" Gazing down at what seemed to be a male trainee, Maev towered over them and couldn't quite make out a good description. "Like, training? Or...just something?" She didn't want to be mean, but this was the only time of the day that she had to herself, and she wanted it to be just that. By herself.

  4. Reluctantly stepping out of her bath, Serena pulled her towel and dressing robes on quickly. Perhaps it was the draft that so frequently snuck between the stones of the White Tower, or maybe it was the details of her recent escape from a horrible place. She tried so suppress a shiver as she stepped into her breeches and pulled on her tight fitted coat. No, I would not wish what happened upon any Aes Sedai. Aridhol had always been a place that peaked her interest. Even as an Accepted, before she petitioned the Blue Ajah, she had spoken with two older members of the Blue that fobade her to ever enter the horrid place. Granted, they had just made her want to visit it even more. Not like this, though. Never like this.

Channeling briefly, the small Saldaean Aes Sedai warmed her tea as she took a seat on the sofa in her quarters, her reflection glaring back at her. Never had she felt so violated by a mission that she herself had helped create. How had it all gone so wrong? Reaching into an inside pocket of her coat, Serena produced a flask of cherry brandy and poured some of it into her tea. Something needed to take the edge off.

Breathing in deeply, taking sips of brandy-tea, Serena attempted to calm herself. It wasn't that she was terribly anxious, she just felt...dirty. She had merely grazed the long arm of he Shadow in her life as an Aes Sedai. Now, the Shadow had manipulated her in a way that no Aes Sedai would ever wish to have been handled. He Healed her! She wanted to spit to get rid of that awful acrid taste that seemed to linger within her. Her companions on the excursion had even allowed him to do it.

Running a small, pale hand through her short, pixie-like raven hair, Serena glared at her reflection in the mirror across from her. Tilted emerald eyes that normally held a fire behind them, seemed somewhat dulled. Biting the inside of her cheek, the Aes Sedai tried to avert her eyes from her own image, and leaned back where she sat. Pulling out her pipe and tabac, she had resolved to ponder the excursion and the circumstances around it.

That was, until she heard a knock at her door....

  5. One of his students? "Mother's milk in a..." Her voice trailed off as she let her eyes meet with his. She was suprised that she had cursed and it showed on her face. Her silver-blue eyes opened wide. Her family had raised her to be polite and act with grace, honour and dignity.

They let Mentors treat their students like this?Maybe this Tower Guard thing wasn't such a good idea after all. With her back still up against the tree, Maev's chest still rose and fell with the hard work she had put into fighting this Aran. She let her eyes flicker from him to the scenery behind him. "So, that would make you a...Tower Guard, then?" As she waited for an answer, she used all the strength she had not to wince. If this man truly turned out to be what he said he was, and he surely fought better than most of the Shienaran warriors back home, she would most likely be in an awful lot of trouble. All she could do was wait and see what kind of response she would get and deal with the consequences.

  6. Infuriated, Serena glared at the sleeping form of her new bondmate. She had no earthly idea who he was, his name or otherwise. Nor was she sure that she wanted to ever find out. Her fists shook as they tightened into tiny balls. I hate you. She yelled for the umpteenth time in her head. Not only had she been bonded and kissed by this....whatever he was, the bloody men of this place had Healed her, as well! Granted, she would have died, most likely, if they hadn't. Shaking her head, she continued to clench her teeth and attempt to bore a hole into the sleeping mans head.

"Must be nice to have a good nights rest." She mumbled.

Almost as if he heard her, or felt her, the male channeler stirred and pushed himself up into a sitting position. Tilted emerald eyes watched his every move, as if she were a hawk. He tested the bond and she shot her feelings of rage back at him. Just try to do something else, you bloody cursed man!  No, he was hardly a man! He was a boy! Biting her cheek, she could tell that although his features seemed so young still, his eyes told another story. He had seen more than she had at his age, surely. MOst likely, he had done more than she had as well.

Before her feelings of empathy for him protruded through the bond, she masked them quickly with new feelings of hatred. They sat and stared at eachother for what could have been hours. Serena was perfectly fine saying nothing, and attempting throw daggars through her eyes at him.

"I'm sorry you hate me so much, but unless you can tell me honestly that you wouldn't have killed me, I can't say I'm sorry for what I did.  I am Arath, Asha'man of the Black Tower." His voice seemed to cut through the silence like a heavy iron blade. Wanting to twitch and shiver from being uprooted from her comfortable place in silence, she merely clenched her fists tighter.

Raising an eyebrow, she became quite synical. "Oh, you must think I care, boy! I have no care of where and when you came from, or what name they call you here. I think I might rather be tied to a Trolloc's spit and burn to death, then be sitting across this tiny room from you."  Her words were like icy venom. It was all she could do to try and put herself back in control. Yes, she had to be in control.

The only thing that was keeping her from completely losing herself to the cold and lonely grasp of fear, was her anger and her Gaidar ofcourse. Thera was near by, but Serena could have wished she was closer. How could she regain control of this situation? What could she do?

"Well? I have no doubt you have some wonderful plans for us, boy. However, I am needed elsewhere." The small Aes Sedai stood to leave and headed for the door. Serena was sure she wouldn't get away with it, but there was always a sense in trying. If he makes an attempt to stop me....

  7. Serena's jaw hurt from clenching it for what could have been hours. She wanted to be furious, outraged! But was to weary to think of anything but keep one foot infront of the other. Her eyes continuously scanned their surroundings, and although she had been at odds with Thera before this chain of events, she would not let her Gaidin die for her. But how could she have let him Heal me? His tainted touch more tainted then... She shuddered as her knees hit the hard ground. The pain hardly bothered her, it was more the thought of a Dreadlord weaving his sickness into her soul. Biting her tongue, she could not imagine any other way to keep from losing any food that had been settling in her stomach from the day before.

His cold and clammy touch yanked her to her feet, and she growled from somewhere deep within. The fire in her eyes sought out Thera, I hate this! I would wish to die before...Their gaze was seperated as they both needed to return to the eternal fight that seemed to be going on around them. Serena felt as if she had been fighting forever. After the Dreadlord had forced her to link with him, she had lost practically all her power to do anything. Saidar seemed to slip between her fingers. She was tired...so tired...

A familiar touch grasped at her waste, and Serena flinched before she registered it as Thera's beautiful arm. She yearned to be in her Gaidin's arms somewhere far from here, but she couldn't let Thera die for her! Tensing her body, she did not know how to act. She had to keep moving...keep fighting. There would be time to speak with her Gaidin later, wouldn't there?

"I know where he is, he is channeling.  Lets pick up the pace."

    The Dreadlord began to run.

Seething inside, Serena pulled on the hatred she felt for the Shadow, and produced one of her blades from the sleeve of her coat. Mashadar, be damned! She pulled her skirts up and ran after the Dreadlord. If she lived through this...no.... it was no time to make promise. It was no time to make bargains with the Creator. She had to exist in this moment, not in the future, nor the past.

*hugs Lavinya* I dont know what's going on here. I leave for a few months and things seem to have gone crazy! What's going on?

Lavinya, from my experience you have done such a fantastic job in your position and always been a wonderful RPer. The same goes for the other ex-staff that is being canned. There is definately a mix of emotions going on within me right now, and sometimes I am one to make a scene...I don't know.... I just don't get it...

  9. Wow! You leave for a little while and crazy things happen! *shakes head* Thank you Sirayn for everything, and you too Halvie. I am quite astonished at all of this, but again, I haven't been around so I have no idea what happened.

Good luck Jaydena and Taea, I hope things go great! I will try and stick around to the best of my ability.

    Serena Morrigan

  10. No! This isn't real, this cannot be true! Serena's eyebrows furrowed and the crease between them seemed to burrow a permanent line in her forehead. Her fist held tight to the dagger she had continued to thrust at the male channeller. Looking down on him...I'm looking down on... With teeth baring she felt as if she could snarl and use her blade like claws of a large cat.

There was no possible way she could feel him in her mind, not like she could feel Thera. He had invaded her. He had sabotaged the one place she could keep from everyone else.

But how? ~She defended and defended. It seemed there was nothing more she could do. Screams of her Sisters seemed to erupt about her, but she could not concentrate on anything but her own battle. Her muscles were growing weary. The excessive use of the One Power was making her tired, but she had to keep going.

No longer could she hold onto the menial task of not sweating. Beads of sweat rolled down her neck to the small of her back. She wouldn't give up. EVER!

"No..." Memories of mere moments ago ravaged her skull, making her more aware of what was really going on. Still holding the dagger above the young man, she was suddenly aware of his pain. He was bleeding from his arm. Well, I must have got in one good shot.

"Just don't kill me," He seemed to wheeze out of his lungs.

"And why shouldn't I?" She brought the blade down to his throat, but she knew that if she pulled the blood stained steel across his artery, she would be in a world of pain. Shaking her head, she wanted to cry, scream and kill all at the same time. This new ball of emotions and tainted feelings felt like a spike driven into her skull. Not like the gentle, yet courageous ball that was Thera.

She knew she was straddling a handsome young man, but this was nothing to blush at. Since her first bondmate had died, she had sworn never to bond a male again. Now this one, had taken advantage of her. She pressed the blade of her dagger down on his neck, and could feel the pain in her own.

"HOw could you?" Her lungs felt weak. Pain shot up her other wrist as she tried to move it. Looking down at it in front of her, she knew it was broken. Blood trickled into her eye from a wound on her head.

"I hope you can feel the physical pain you have wrought, as well as what you have destroyed inside. I should kill you for this!!" But I can't...She tried to mask the feeling of her heart sinking into her stomach. She was too exhausted. Instead she tightened the muscles in her thighs and squeezed his chest with her knees.

She coughed as she squeezed, feeling her own pressure in her mind. "I hate you. I will make your life a living hell!"

  11. Squinting her eyes from the glare of the sliver slash of the Gateway, Serena watched as the first Aes Sedai stepped through. Gripping her reins, she glanced at Thera and nodded her head. They would be fine. It was not as if Serena had never faced these male channellers before. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered if Thera was going to remind her of their bout in Aridhol, where Serena had failed to hold a Shield on one of the madmen. They can’t all be mad! She thought silently. Certainly they all hadn’t been mad in Cairhien.

Her last thoughts were cut off by the sound of screams and blood spattering. Wiping a drop of blood from her eyes, the Blue sister frowned and narrowed her tilted emerald eyes as if to see better. As soon as the screams entered her ears, she had grasped onto Saidar. There was no way she would walk into anything without being prepared. Breathing deeply, she attempted to calm herself and keep track of what was going on. Light, one would have to know what actually WAS going on, before being able to keep track of it. Bloody ashes,

Her questions were quickly answered as she recognized the garb of the men before them. Orders were being shouted, weaves were being wielded by the Aes Sedai, and carnage ensued. Fireballs and Lightning Bolts, Earth Projectiles, Elemental Blades, Earthquakes. Only one thing reminded her of such chaos, and that was Dumai’s Wells. Only in that battle, there had been more Aes Sedai.

How could this have happened? Were they not to have been placed away from the area the male channellers were to be staying? How had they ended up in an ambush? Biting the inside of her cheek, the small Saldaean Blue fought her way through the disorder and chaos. Mud and chunks of Earth flew up at her as she lashed out with the One Power. In no time at all she was knocked out of her saddle. Hitting the hard earth with her back. Wincing, she quickly recovered, determined to focus on the pain later. To her left, she watched Estel Liones assist Lavinya Sedai, an awkward and cynical smile touched her lips as she thought of the irony of that situation; however, that was what the White Tower was supposed to be about wasn’t it? Fighting side by side even if one sister wasn’t incredibly fond of the other? Glancing at the Reds, she wondered if she could do it.

Deftly, Serena wove a Shield of Air that blocked the various objects of Earth and Fire being hurtled at her head. Acidic bile rose up in her throat as she watched a Gaidin explode. Ashes spread across her face. Burn me! Ashes of a dead man!! Before the smoke and dust could clear, she began to weave what would turn into a mudslide, before she could finish the ground beneath her began to shake. Her feet wanted to slip right out from under her. “no, this wont work.” Brushing her tiny ivory hand through her short raven black hair, Serena decided on a much personal tactic.

Searching, attempting to find the culprit that created the persistent quake, her eyes fell on a group of men standing together. One of which seemed oddly familiar, had she seen him before. One man shouted orders and seemed not to be doing much of anything else…no, make that two of them. Who could honestly tell what man was doing what, when you couldn’t see the blasted flows. A tall, dark haired Andoran stood close to the man barking orders. She lashed out at a young man right in front of them. Weaving as fast as she could. Flows of Water entered his lungs; before he could do anything about it he was spluttering and choking to death. It was sick and unsatisfying, the killing of a young man. However, these madmen had killed so many of her sisters. Lunging forward she revealed one of the five blades she hid on her, from her coat sleeve, and stabbed the drowning man in the chest. Her eyes still on the man that seemed to be in charge, and the Andoran beside him.

Locking eyes with the brown haired Andoran, her own emerald eyes alight with a fierce fire behind them, she began to weave again. The Internal Drowning weave seemed to be her best bet, hopefully, he would not know what was occurring until he, like his comrade, was spluttering on the ground, dying. Forcing her hand out, she thickened the threads and seemed to throw them onto the Andoran; if they had been solid they would have pierced his chest. Had she seen something in his eyes?

As she waited and attempted her weave, she seemed to stalk him like a lioness ready to pounce on her prey.

  12. hehe. Anyways, Iknow it was ridiculous of me to post my topic like that, but I couldn't resist. 13. The pursuit of the male channeller was on, and it had Serena wrapped up in her thoughts as they dashed after him. The plan had gone awry, and it had Serena being the only channeller among the four of them. The fact that she had been seperated from her Sisters, was disturbing. How in the bloody Light am I going to fight this man by myself?Surely she could Shield him, but that would use more than enough of her strength in the One Power. Glancing at the Tower Guards and her Gaidin, she attempted weigh the strength of each of them. Nodding to herself as the wind rushed through her hair, she was sure they were all certainly strong enough together.

Grasping onto the One Power in case anything happened, Serena's sight was intensified. Although the sun hung high in the sky, it would hardly matter in a couple of hours if they continued in the direction they were going. "I don't like the look of the direction we're heading." She knew exactly the path they were taking. Years of studying the ancient city of Aridhol as an Accepted and again as a shawled Aes Sedai, had trained her in knowing how to get there, and what to expect when they arrived within the city walls.

Sure enough, they followed his trail straight into the city of Shadar Logoth. His horse stood nervously outside of a large palace. SHaking her head, she dismounted and looked to each of the Guards and her Bondmate. Aran was already prepared. As much as she disliked the man, she would have to put much of her trust into him. Thera stood next to her, and Rosheen appeared as if she were a cat ready to pounce.

Breathing in deeply, she spoke. Her tone was steady and commanding. "Judging by the height of the sun, we have time to follow him in and do what we must before the evil of this place seeps out of the cracks and is upon us. We must be quick, but not hasty. I trust you all with my life. I will do what I can for all of you." With a flick of her wrist a dagger apeared in her hand. The sun caught the metal and made it gleam. "I will not be able to Shield us from harm once I begin to weave his Shield."

Again, Serena looked at each of them, but this time looked each Guard in the eye. "We go!" With that, she took off into the palace.

  14. Maev followed Anwashawn all over the Yards. The barracks were quite interesting and she figured she'd have a roommate to share her room with. Plopping her things down onto the bed, she put some of her things away, then turned to follow her Mentor again. The Mess Hall proved to be what she expected, she was glad that she would be eating well. She felt slightly uncomfortable, being one of the tallest Trainees among a few others.

Shaking off her embarassment as they walked into the Armoury, Maev finally felt as if she were on her way. As Shawn headed into the back, where the forge lay, Maev eyed the weapons. I will seriously learn to use them all?A pale eyebrow arched in disbelief. The metal seemed to glitter off of the weapons displayed on the wall and tables.

Putting a finger to her lips, she cast her eyes over each weapon, weighing it in her mind. At last, she came to a No Dachi. Picking it up, she held it in both hands for a moment, balancing it, feeling it against her palms. At that moment, Anwashawn appeared from the forge and asked. ""So, what'd you decide on?"

Holding up the weapon, she nodded to him. "I have always wanted to use the No Dachi. Shein used it." The name of the man that she had known to be her father tasted bitter on her lips. "I want to use it. This, and perhaps I will learn to use the bullwhip as well." She pointed to the row of whips lining a wall.

  15. Serena's face remained calm and collected, but the fire behind her tilted emerald eyes shone brightly. It took almost all she had to not remove her hands from her side and place them on her hips. The discussion taking place was not going well, and she could not understand why. The White Tower would have the Wilder!

Among the three women that stood before the King of Cairhien, Elyssa was probably the smartest and more silent, Estel would be hasty and rash, and Serena would silently scorn in her rage. Luckily, with all three of them together, and their training, they wouldn't erupt into a an explosive ball of chaos. Serena could hold her own and usually knew when to let her wrath reveal itself. As she grew older, the things to become angry with grew less.

"You realize you're not the only party asking for custody of the girl."Biting the inside of her cheek, the Saldaean Blue had to restrain herself from drawing blood. How, in the name of the Light, could the king be thinking what he was thinking? As she went to open her mouth to speak, Estel beat her two it.

"The Whitecloaks?"Estel had been positioned behind Serena and Elyssa for a reason, now she had breached her responsibility. Out of the corner of her eye, she shot daggers at the younger Blue.

As the conversation between Estel and the King progressed, Serena wished she could have channeled a gag for the Domani. The questions and statements she made were good; however, they could have been made a little differently.

"The girl does not know how to control her Power, she cannot be faulted for the accident," Nodding at the last statement Estel made, Serena silently thanked the Light that the Domani Blue hadn't erupted in anger. No doubt the woman was boiling over the edge, just as Serena was.

"Estel Sedai is merely stating the facts. If this girl is not placed into our hands, she could hurt more people along the way as well. The White Tower needs to deal with her, not the Whitecloaks. All they wish is for revenge, but what we seek for his justice. Is revenge Just? Is putting someone to death for what they do not know how to control or understand, right? I think not!"

The discussion laboured on and on. At last, the king let them see the girl. On their way down to the dungeons, Serena caught Estel's attention and nodded in approval. The Saldaean Blue was to keep the Domani on a tight string.

OOC: Guys, I"m sorry it took me so long. I lost the ability to write for Serena for a moment, but I"m back on track and will not stall you again.

  16. Blood and ashes! Could the woman not have asked me a different question? Serena bit her cheek as she thought, she would have to tell Estel the truth. Aes Sedai could not lie... maybe there was some way around it.

"Estel, I am not quite sure if it is your business to know who came to me about your...reactions, as of late." Eyeing Estel, Serena folded her hands in her lap. "Granted, Sirayn may have said a thing or two about you. That alone should say enough! That woman is to be respected at all costs! Why she would come to me about you, though..." Now there was a question she had not let herself think of on her way over. Why would Sirayn care anything about Estel, and ask Serena of all people to watch over her?

Biting her lower lip, the Saldaean BLue arched a dark eyebrow as she wondered silently. Again, she studied Estel. "You look ill. What is it that has you acting so crazy? Your behaviour cannot continue!"

Although, she did care, Serena's words were icy cold.

  17. Wind rustled the curtains that hung in her large open window, and a breeze danced across her face. Keraselle Morveine slept comfortably underneath a down blanket. Her chest rose and fell with the delightful monotony of a deep sleep.

Out of nowhere, a loud knock erupted her slumber. Dark eyes opening slowly, she shook her head to try and clear some of the fuzz from her dream. Had the knock really happened? Surely no one would even dare to think of knocking on my door at this hour. Morning is surely only a couple hours away! Smoothing her brown hair down onto her pillow, she picked at a strand of the gray and wound it around her index finger. As she began to settle back down beneath the sheets, the strong knock sounded again.

"What on earth could be happening? It better be something close to the Last Battle or I'll..." Grasping at a long sheer robe, she wrapped it around her bulky shift. No one had ever seen this much of her skin! Keraselle was a beautiful woman, even into her old age, however, she hated her beauty and loathed the fact that she had been given this curse.

"Coming!" She yelled as she approached her door. With a quick thought, Keraselle channeled brief strands of Air to pick up a couple of the books that littered her floor. Whoever was at her door, must believe their information was pretty bloody important.

Upon opening the door, she peered into the face of Cemarillin Sedai. Arching a dark eyebrow, she stood back and motioned for the other woman to enter her quarters. Light, it had been a long time since she had seen this woman. "Please, sit down, Cemarillin Sedai. I assume you carry important news for me, or you would have waited a couple more hours. Shall I warm the tea?"

Kera sat down and awaited Cema's answer

  18. Pursing her lips in thought, Maev could not help but keep her eyes locked on Anwashawns. They were so captivatingly blue. For a moment she forgot what he had asked her and continued to look into his eyes. Suddenly, noticing the silence that enveloped them, she cleared her throat and felt her cheeks flush with embarassment. "I'm sorry, I..." Her words trailed off as she silently cursed herself for being a fool. He's going to think your a bloody moron, and nothing but a foolish little girl for being so distracted!

Running a sun-dark hand through her short white-blonde hair, Maev gathered her thoughts. "I have always had a certain knack for fighting. My father helped defend the border into the Blight for all of my life. In Shienar it's what we do; however, they would never let me go with them. I trained with some of the army under my father..." Memories of Shein Kiyosa filtered into her mind, she could feel the anger and sorrow building up inside of her. She had called him 'father', and he was not. "When he entered into the last embrace of the Mother, I no longer had reason to be in Shienar. No army would take me in, no warriors would let me fight or train under them. There is much honour in defending something that you believe in. I believe in defending the world against the Shadow. What better place than to come to the White Tower of Tar Valon?"

Maev grinned for the first time in a long time. "I've been waiting for this time in my life for quite some time. I am glad to see females fighting alongside the men."
