  1.   If Covina's pain was eased even by a bit by biting his pain, then Ghaul did not mind if she tore a chunk of it. It might cause some discomfort later, when the adrenaline rush subsides, but he could not care less about now. Covina was pushing, and hard. From what little he knew about delivering babies, he though that this must mean that it will soon be over. His free hand went to Covina's forehead, stroking it gently. It will soon be all over. It just had to be.

He felt it more then he saw it. His eyes were concentrated on Covina, and he felted as the baby left her body. It was only when he heard the baby crying that he turned to see their child in Dian's arms. It was the same that had tired to chase Ghaul off earlier and got told to shut it. Ghaul walked towards her, eyes fixed on the baby. It was a boy, he had a son!! Without saying a word, Ghaul waited for the baby to be cleaned and wrapped in a soft towel before taking it the baby, holding it with his clean hand. It felt ... well it felt natural. Never until now has Ghaul held a child. Nor had he ever thought of being a parent. He also doubted that any of the men or women Ghaul has danced along side with ever though that the Clan Chief will become a father so soon. And yet here he was with his son in his hand who was currently crying out quite loud. Ghaul smiled - well, the boy had good strong lungs. That will come in handy for when he begging training for ...

“Shade of my Heart..” Covina said through clenched teeth. “I have toh, I must tell you…” Her voice strained from the effort to keep from pushing. “We are not having one child..we are having TWO..”

... Was today "Stun Ghaul" day in the Hold? If it was, he would appreciated if someone warned him in advance of such events. He just sat there and stared as Covina once again went into the birth pains  before a second baby cried out as it took it's first breath.

What a day!! It began with the clash of weapons and blood, with Ghaul using himself as bait to make a new battle plan work, something he made a mental note not to tell Covina, a long run back home and now the twins!!! Ghaul left his son in the care of a Wise One for a short while, as much as to do a quick emergency dressing on the cut in his hand before taking both children in his arms. He brought them to their exhausted mother. When Covina was Far Dareis Mai, he has led her in the dance many many times, but never was he more proud of her.

"Look at them, Shade of my Heart. Look at our children."

That was all Ghaul could say as his mind raced to make sense of this eventful day. One thing was for sure now - he had to make some changes in his habits. No longer did he have a duty only to the Car'a'carn and the clan. He now had a duty to the two little humans he held in his hands.

    Just became a Dad

  2.   “You!! You did this to me!! This is all your fault!!”

Well technically she was correct. It was him who got her pregnant. And it was also him who make her go through a 5 months long torment when he was thought to be dead. And to say that Ghaul was surprised by such a welcome would be an understatement. For the first time in his life, the young Clan Chief was at a lost of what to do. His beloved wife was screaming in great pain, Apprentices were rushing around and hot towels, Wise ones were all around Covina, one on her other side, telling her to keep breathing, two others were standing at her waist while one was between Covina's spread legs, obviously ready to take the baby. And there were a few other Wise Ones who were trying to shoo him out. It was the chaos of a battlefield and ... wait, that's it! This was indeed like a battlefield, though a different kind. And the Clan Chief was no stranger to battle. The moment of confusion has passed and Ghaul gave the Wise Ones trying to shoo him off an icy stare that would make Covina proud.

"My place right now, Wise One, is here by my wife, and my duty is towards her. And I would suggest that instead of trying to get me to leave, you find something useful to do, like finding something to easy the pain the Shade of my Heart is right now. Or leave!"

It was not the Wise Ones turn to be stumped. For a moment all was silent before Covina's scream made it clear that another contraction has hit her. Ghaul used this moment to wash his hands. Then he took his place at Covina's side, took out his knife and quickly made a small cut along the width of his palm. The he put his hand in Covina's mouth.

"Bite my hand, Shade of my Heart" - his free hand was on her forehead, gently stroking it. - " The more it hurts the stronger your bite, let your pain flow into me"

      Ghaul

    About to be a father

  3.   I am still around, though just vaguely.

      Character: Ghaul

Bio: No idea where that went

Guild: Aiel ( Also known as The Dead One )

      Rank/Position: Clan Chief

      WS/OP: 20

RP: One of these days I should get to posting on the RP where Covina is giving birth. She has been in labour for several months now ...

  4.   Every once and again the Shadow launch a raid into the Three Fold Land, as if only to once again make sure it really does deserve the name they've given it - the Land of Death. Most of the times those raiding bands were small enough for the septs along the border to take care of them on their own. However, they were cases when the horde proved too big for one sept to handle on it's own. In such cases warriors from the septs deeper in the Three Fold Land came to aid the fight, and on rare occasions, the horde was so great that a Clan Chief took the trip up North to lead the spears in the dance. And now was such a case. But what was unique for Ghaul this time was that he was reluctant to go - Covina was about to give birth soon. However he had his duty to attend to, so he had to go. And it was Covina who personally saw him off, with Ghaul promising that he'll try his best to be back in time for the birth.

When the warriors, among whose ranks Ghaul was, the Clan Chief requested to be told of what the current situation was. It turned out that initially the Shadow had sent in small squads, which were easily routed, but as the Aiel gave chase the a huge horde of Shadowtwisted had attacked them. The warriors were forced to withdraw and were comming this way via the Charenin hills. Ghaul knew of these hills. They were more like mountains that hills, and their northern slope being much much steaper than the souther ones. The easiest way pass them was a narrow pass that splited them unevenly. At this moment a plan began to shape in Ghaul's head. Yes, it would could work, after all, as the runner said - the group that was forced to withdraw is composed mainly of Shaen M'taal. Yes, this could very much work.

"Split into five groups. Two of the groups are to take position on the hills along the need to position. The other two are to be position along before the hills, on the flanks of the horde. The fifth group is to be composed of Shaen M'taal." - Ghaul proceeded to explain his plan. - "I will be joining the fifth group. We will reinforce the retreating forces, and will make a stand. As the horde approaches will will shoot arrows at them, and pretend to flee as they approach. At that time, the group on their left flank is to approach and pester them with arrows, get them to chase you. Again as they aproach you're to pull back and our group will once again get their attention Once they get close to us, we shall again pull back and the group on their right flank. The same things is to happen as the other group. This whole process is to repeat as we pull back towards the pass. If the Horde does not take the bait and keeps on chasing us, both groups are to rain arrows on them. As we come in range of the two groups up on the slopes around the pass they are to open fire too. Once at the pass is where the Shaen M'taal are to make a stand. This group is to bear the blunt of the Shadowtwisted as the others groups keep them under fire until the horde breaks and takes flight. Then we are to persuit and make sure they will not think of turning back. That is the battle plan. Once the groups are ready we move out. Time is of the essence"

And so he was now on his way back. The horde was beaten off, with relatively low casualties than compared to other such raids. The new tactic seemed to work. Usually Ghaul will be wondering how much longer will this tactic work, and working on ways to improve it, but right now he was in a great hurry to get back that he did not even had time to replace his cadin'sor with a new one, the dragon tattoo now reflecting the rays of the sun. As he neared Deep Shade Hold he was met by a messenger, who told Ghaul that Covina's waters have broken, and the birth have began. This spurred Ghaul further. He flew into the Hold, ignoring the curious looks of people wondering what has gotten Ghaul in such a hurry. Clan Chief he was, but he was still young, and about to become a father. Right now Ghaul could think of little else than wanting to be next to Covina and try to ease the pain. So he wasted little time. He only stopped to wipe the dust off his face, torso and arms before rushing in the roof where Covina was, already in labor. Ghaul ignored the shouts of the midwife, another Wise One, to leave, walked over to Covina and placed his hand on her shoulder.

"I am here, Shade of my Heart"

    About to be a father

P.S. Again unfinished! And this is turning out to be much longer than I expected

  5.   ooc:As it seems real life is keeping Sieve too busy, he'll have to play a bit of catch up.

Hunting lions - that was an amusing thought, and not too far from what Ghaul had suggested when Rhianna first had him plan a trip as a trainee. The matter that Rhulad raised however was indeed a very good one. Ghaul congratulated the trainee in his mind.

"There is one well between the Hold and Selin oasis. It is well hidden, but we'll be able to find it with out a problem."

Ghaul did not say anything more on the matter of water on purpose, he was curious to see if Rhulad will ask for a more dangerous activity often related with gathering water. While he waited though, there was a bit more that he had to add.

"Lions in the Three Fold Land do not have as much meat on them as you seem to think. Yes, they are not exactly skin and bone either, but their meat is extremely tough and almost impossible to chew unless boiled for a very long time. Not to mentioned that lions are active at night, so if you want to catch one you'll have to hunt it at night. And while I do not doubt the fighting capability of anyone of you" - that was the truth itself, they were Aiel after - "in the dark the lions will have an advantage over you because their better vission in the dark. As for what to hunt - think on this, what kind of animals are most often found in the Three Fold Land?"

So far Ghaul had given them something to think about however there was more on the way.

"Don't get carried away on that thought alone though. There is a lot still that needs planning - for example when do we set off, at what time of day we travel? When and where do we rest and so on."

        Ghaul

      keeping the trainees busy

  6.   ooc: Well first congratulations!! You have gotten to the point where I have managed to have a somewhat clear idea of how exactly the training will take place. So before you get bored and leave, here's the first post. Now, the idea is simple - first we'll make a trip to an oasis. Let's how well you can survive in a desert ;)

The sun would not be up for several hours, however there was already activity in the Deep Shade Hold. And one of the people who were up and about was the clan chief Ghaul. Today there was to be a training trip for three young warriors - Jelana, Braelin and Rhulad. The trainees have been warned in advanced to meet with the clan chief at this hour. They were also instructed to take with them provision for just one day. And when arriving at the meeting place, Ghaul was pleased to see that all three were present and his instructions were followed to the letter.

"I see you Jelana, I see Braelin, I see you Rhulad. The point of our journey will be Selin oasis, which is about 3 days journey."

Even if there was any surprise from the Ghaul's announcement, none of the three young warrior before him showed any. They simply nodded in acknowledgement and looked at him for furtehr instructions. Ghaul smiled.

"Well I won't be the one planning the trip itself, that is your task. This will be your first test, to see how well you can survive in the Three Fold Land. Feel free to discuss it among yourself, and when you're ready we'll set off."

       Ghaul

ooc: Well ok, as you know the Three Fold Land is an almost barren desert. But it is not just sand, it's combination of sand and rock. There is an oasis here and there around which there is some growth, but as a general rule you'll find little plant life in the Three Fold Land. They are plenty of animals though, mainly reptiles and insects, many of which are poisonous. They are also good eating though! And of course they are some big predators such wolves or lions. So plan the journey, feel free to include caravan stops if you want, and let's have some fun

  7.   So it was Cenn who asked permission to enter Rhuidean, went it and didn't return.

"Well that is a surprise" - even though he has said it with his normal even voice, Covina gave him a surprised look. - "It's surprising that he didn't return, Shade of my Heart, not that he was sent into Rhuidean. After all, he witnessed my capture, along with the others. He has also heard what the Car'a'carn said at Al'Cair Dal. I guess somewhere deep inside he though that the story of his own ancestors will be somewhat different. I am also surprised that no one else has asked permission considering I was long time gone."

Ghaul made a small pause to have a sip of water.

"Well, I believe that the best way to announce my return is for the Aiel to see me in the clan chief's chair. Plus, I imagine that in 5 months time there have been accidents that would call fora clan chief's judgement. And I would say it is high time I get some work done"

  8.   "I'd have you know, young one" - the words young were like understruck - "that I happen to like my cave. It's dark, damp, cozy and secluded. And no one can hear the trainees scream."

That last one did bring the two before him to laughter. However it was time for the act to stop

"I still am not over the hill as you noted, Cairma, and while I still do train and teach with the same dedication as before but it seems Ren'Shai simply scares most of the trainees away. The ones who stayed - well they are a few with very good promise though none quite as talented for the Ren'Shai as you were."

Leaving Cairma wondering on weather the old man has just made her a compliment or not he turned to Kynwic.

"So you've been aswering the call of duty? No wonder I haven't seen you in a while. After all, they are not that many blademasters left as of current so to not meet them all in two years even with my social habits. I do not know Loraine Sedai that well, but judging by that you look to be in perfect health, I would say she is a rather sober minded Green who does not charge first and think later, as the stereotype of the Greens goes. And I believe I haven't congratulated you yet on your promotion. I will see to redeem that once we get to the tavern."

So far Daemon has avoided Cairma's last question, however it was not in Daemon's style to dodge questions, even painful ones.

"I am holding, as you see. Though perhaps it was for the best that you were not here when that happened. I caused something of a racket around here when that happened. Now I am one of the few people in the club of three times Broken and lived to tell the tale. Which somewhat explains my social calendar and habits."

  9.   *looks behind the tree* Nope, not here either. ;)

Ok, joke aside, I have an idea for an RP involving pretty much the whole of the active Aiel, trainees included. However I need you to gives the DL blessing before I start do any real planning. So when you see me online - feel free to pounce

  10. Not quite all craftsmen. Blacksmith are given special protection because their function as weaponsmiths. If you take away the blacksmith you seriously disrupt the weapon production and repair process. Because of that blacksmiths can not be taken Gai'shan. A silversmith for example, can be take hostage, since his work is not so vital. As for women - well women with children under the age of ten can not be taken gai'shain, because at that age the child is still very much dependant on it's mother. Also, child under 15 can not be taken Gai'Shain.

Well, I believe we're all done with this one. Congratulations Lady and Gentlemen, you're now at WS of 9. I will start working on getting you ready to apply to join a society
