    Quote

In Character hierarchy at the White Tower

There have been various systems used over the years to determine the In Character Hierarchy at the White Tower, but this is the one that is now in use (remember that Accepted and Novices are right at the bottom wink.gif):

    Quote

    Amyrlin

    Keeper

    Head (of YOUR Ajah)

Sitters (of ALL Ajahs, ranking by age within the Hall) / Mistress of Novices (only with regards to N&A matters)

OP Strength / Temporary Position (for instance Ambassador or delegation leader)

Remember the gradations, "secret" positions, and other difficult cases:

    Gradations:

Joan Sedai of the White Ajah is the weakest in the OP in the whole Tower. She has to defer to every single other sister. However, her deductive reasoning and skill at Daes Dae'Mar is brilliant, so she is chosen to be a Sitter. Everyone in the White Tower who is NOT a Sitter (or the White Head) now defers to her. In the Hall itself, she is somewhere in the middle age-wise, which puts her somewhere in the middle in the Hierarchy there.

Pam Sedai is of middling Strength, and is put in charge of a delegation of sisters to the Seafolk. There are sisters of greater Strength than her in this delegation, but they defer to her for the duration of the delegation. She might take advice from the sisters with her, but would pay greater heed to the advice of the Stronger sisters, over that of the Weaker ones.

    Former Wilders and Salidar novices:

Former Wilders are generally regarded slightly lower than where their Strength in the OP should put them. Aes Sedai who were Salidar novices will be regarded in the same way, due to their “forcing” and speedy raising. Some (if not most) will feel that they did not learn all they should have.

    Secret Positions:

The Ajah Heads are only known to the members of their own Ajahs. For instance, a White would not defer to the Brown Ajah Head, because she wouldn't know her as such.

All members within an Ajah would defer to their Head, though, even Sitters ... except for voting in the Hall.

Even there, some Heads have more control than others. The Red Head traditionally has absolute control (even regarded as equal in position to the Amyrlin by her own members), but there can be a fine tussle between Sitters and Heads where it comes to voting in the Hall.

    The Keeper:

She is technically just a glorified secretary, with no more power than the Amyrlin chooses to give her. BUT! She has the ear of the Amyrlin, and everyone has to go through her to get to the Amy. In such a case, when in doubt, being polite is politic

    The Mistress of Novices:

She only has charge over the Novices and Accepted. Technically. But any sister who has contact with said N/A, will be watched by her like a hawk. Any sister can also be sent to her for Mortification of the Flesh, which again means it's only politic not to pee her off too much

How to describe the weaves of the One Power:

This information is no listed on the Website that I can see, but can prove helpful when RPing:

    Robert Jordan said:

To the channeler, the flows seem to originate in his or her very immediate vicinity, not to emanate from themselves, although to another channeler, those flows do seem to be emanating from the channeler. The latter is the actual case, as the One Power is passing through the channeler, one of the reasons for individual limits on how much of the Power a particular person can handle. (And you have seen characters react as if to a blow from having a flow snapped or cut.)

A channeler sees the flows as colored very faintly, according to which of the Five Powers is involved (red = Fire, Blue = Water, green = Earth, yellow = Air, white = Spirit), although the "feel" of the flows are also different to a channeler, so that a channeler can tell one from another without actually seeing them. (That is how someone can tell that somebody else has channeled, say, Fire and Earth, in their vicinity without seeing the flows.) It isn't a physical feel; you might almost as well say that they have different flavors. They appear to be smooth and nearly tra

I have not had an easy life. Some may think that I might be exaggerating

but in truth I doubt they thought far enough into it to understand the reality of it all. A sad

tragedy that held poems of epic proportions, because to them it only could be just a story.

When I was younger I wish I could believe that it was a story, but in the end I was only running

from the one thing that made me who I was. Me.

Originally trained as a Ren'Shai Grandmaster, Cairma practices neither Path nor Philosophy (Void or Spring) but still teaches any who ask. She is a hard unmerciful taskmaster yet fair in all her dealings.

    Brief History:

    Before the Yards

There was a hanted look to her eyes as she breathed in slowly. Cairma never liked telling this story, and had only told it once. "Born 968 NE in Kings Crossing, NorthWest of Andor to Karin Vishnu & Lord Jard al’Anubi of the Noble Line (Low Ranking - Andor). I was unplanned and an unwanted child, grew up with 5 older brothers and a mother who ran The Royal and whored for easy money. Although I did not play with my brothers, nor did they have any love for me, they were still protective enough of of me to keep me relatively safe from everyone else. Even if that meant hiding me away in a secluded part of the woods when I was not doing chores around the house. By age eight I started to learn how to use a sword from Jain. It wasn’t intricate learning, like that of warders, but basic survival techniques so that I would be able to defend myself from wild animals or bad men that travelled through.

"I told you that I left on a caravan of a peddler about 5 days out of Kings Crossing. I had to barter my traveling expenses. Too young to for the mans particular tastes, and of the wrong gender, he allowed me to stay as long as I stayed out of his way, kept his horses kept and used traps to catch food on nights when he was too occupied to do so. The days of traveling were long and tiring, but my own silence kept him talking. He enjoyed talking especially about his sales and better deals that he cheated one person or another. After a while I started to ask him questions about what he carried. I had no reason not to learn or any idea what to do if i ever left that Caravan, as long as I wasn't in King Crossing. At first he taught me how to barter and play dice. I had very poor luck at it." Cairma chuckled softly at fond memories in the Common Room. "Still do. I then started to help him keep track of what he kept in his Cart, and discovered a variety of dried herbs. Some spices for cooking. But most were poisons."

"I had learned at a far too young age not to trust anyone and that anything can be used as leverage. I took to climbing trees to escape my brothers. I took to helping the neighbors to escape my mother. I kept a knife under my pillow that was always sharpened to keep out shadows. I was too young to understand why I did it, but even as I traveled with that Peddler, I didn't feel safe." Her pause for collection brought a few memories, a few nights of being hungry. Of the way the man watched her. Her hair was jaggedly cut and of odd colouring and she barely had the development of a feminine body for one her age. Once in a while when he didn't know she was watching him, she could see the look. The same look from home, from her mother, brothers.. "So I listened well when he told me a little of them. I did not take any, it would have been too easy for him to notice, but i moved them farther from the foods and spices claiming that I would hate to mistake a spice for one of the other bottles, and moved it where it would make more noise to retrieve. He told me of Forkroot and a few others that he carried and I didn't want to be under some draught. I wasn't stupid." She paused as a sliver of anger rose in her voice. How many times had she been dismissed as a stupid girl. But even then she had believed she was, and only fear caused her to make the mistakes she made.

"We reached Andor. I was not planning to part ways there, but we did. Too young to bother with the Taverns, I borrowed a few poisons and a dagger that looked like it would fetch a good coin as well as a few spices and offered the spices in payment for one night in a real bed with a warm bath. Travel was hard and all I wanted was a night in a place I could feel safe if even for a moment and even with a dagger under my pillow. I had no plan, just a night away. I woke the next morning after the first sleep of actual rest I had in months. The peddler was gone. I had nothing to my name but the dagger and the poisons that I wasn't entirely sure I pocketed in the first place. It made sense at the time.

"I remember feeling utterly lost. I was not used to a city that was so big with so many people. Everyone was so cruel and turned me away. I was useless in the kitchens as I was too nervous and tripped over everything. I broke more dishes in that first few days than would pay for decent meals for a month. ...Time just became such a blur as I tried desperately to find a place to even rest. The dagger was stolen by a thief while I slept on night."

"The traveller was Calpene, after his home peninsula in Tanchico. He was both a smuggler and a poisoner, has a filthy temper on him. He’s still alive as far as I know, but that’s neither here nor there. His poisons were far more potant than what he claimed them to be. He told basics of how to mix and where to put in, but nothing more than a 'scoop of this', or a 'pinch of that'."

"Maybe if he taught me better... I'm not really sure what had started it. Maybe it had been the few run-ins with the thieves guild in Andor, or other of their kind that did not take to much liking of me. I took up space in their streets, coined from their pockets. I never knew that asking for a coins would cause a ripple in a system so cleverly placed. I got into many scraps that were unfair in numbers. I refused to play their rules any more than them allowing me into their fold. I wasn't Andoran, I didn't know the streets, and I was too old for their games, and too young to be of any standing."

"It had been a taste, and I didn't want anything to do with it, and I was getting desperate. I didn't fear death, but it never occured to me to take my own life. It was just simply not what one thought about. Or at least I didn't.”

“Instead I took one of the small pouches of poison and followed a man. I only wanted to have him sleep so I wouldn't have to harm him. Lift a few coins to barter a bit of food so I could leave Andor." Her eyes shut. "I used too much. It was horrifying to watch. He didn't scream, but the noises he made." Breathe. "I watched what I did and hated myself for it. But fear drove me enough to take what I needed. And I left Andor that night."

"It was in Four Kings that I tried again." Following the road as she left through Whitebridge, avoiding the cities as much as she could. Mostly she remembered being hungry. "It had been weeks since I had a warm meal, one that I stole from a farm house window. My traps were only so good, and I lacked too many tools to pick up anything that was larger than a squirrel, or maybe a rabbit if I was lucky. ..I wanted anything better than what I had. Anything would have done."

Cairma's voice changed then as it grew a little more in it's strength. Reliving a little of what Aran spoke of, it didn't feel that she had it so bad. She never knew any of her victims. "He had been a cheery fellow and thought that I was 'cute'. Said that I reminded him of his daughter that passed away recently. I told him that I could not stay, why I don't even remember. But he gave me that same look and I knew I could not trust him. I stayed weary of him, but yet I followed him into his home. The bath was glorious, and the food tasted like the Light itself. I don't know if the story of his daughter was true or not, but he also gave me some clothes. He told stories, many of them, at a drop of the hat as long as he had a willing audience." The man had been arrogant and talked much about himself. Praising her for her silence and how wonderful she was to being such a silent child. Memories brought with it the unease of the evening. "After one last look, he excused himself from the table to relieve himself, or so he said. I moved quickly and put the poison in his wine. I used a little less this time, after all the effect it had the first time, it was far too quick, and I didn't think that I needed to rush." Her voice grew hollow. "I could never have been so wrong."

"There is one moment in a person's life that could essentially break them, be it their minds or their hearts. You have become immune to the touch of death. It does not effect you the way it may others. Taking a life does not bother you." She paused in her little side story as her mind echoed the evening. "The meal had ended than after retiring to the Library he showed me how to play stones, also a game I was never very good at. I was playing the waiting game, a little nervous. But nothing happened. An hour passed and it had grown fairly late at this point. He offered me a room for the night. Not thinking he would be awake for much longer, I agreed. I had thought i had given him a sedative, from what my memory had served me, in hopes that once he was asleep he would not wake for a very long time."

"He brought me down the long corridor and paused in front of a door with a soft sigh. He sighed and muttered, 'not here'. I asked him why, but he only smiled. Opening the next door he lit the lamps revealing a very beautiful room. But one that struck me as too beautiful." Dark rich silks, crimsons and golds. "Too nervous of him to take too much notice of the room and all that was in it, I entered and he left me there only to return moments later in a robe." She shut her eyes for a moment as the memories of screams echoed in her head. "I don't know what happened after her placed his hands on me. I remember the robe being torn, my clothes were torn, and then him dead on the floor." He voice was merely a whisper. "I remember screaming. A lot of screaming, and then his blood on my hands. I was only 12."

    In the Yards

"It took me four years to pull myself through the Tower gates. Determined to leave my past behind me, I tried to be happy with a supportive family that would be proud of their daughter. A Tower Gaurd, Gaidin to an Aes Sedai. Back where I come from those are just silly stories that one told over a campfire while drinking down last seasons mead. So I became a Tower Trainee. Brililin, Llugh, Raekal, and Hawkin were of many of my mentors. All left for various reasons. I was ‘bounced’ around a lot until I was assigned under Daemon’s care, and flourished. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against them leaving, being there myself. But it was still tough to adjust to after everything. But I stuck it through, aspiring the Ren'Shai and eventually made it to Tower Guard by the time I was 18. For two years I faded in the Yard, practicing as I always did and decided that it was better than anywhere else and I was satisfied with it. Not happy, but satisfied.

"21, and I was assigned my first mentee. Coraman. I doubt I could ever feel more useless and completely out of my league. Clumsy I stumbled through the first parts of teaching another forms that I should have had drilled into me. Should. She survived most of it... I think.

"Then I met him. The very bane and joy of my existance. Most think it would be my future Bonded that would be the joy of my life, but if one ever met Aran ... He would change your life forever. First it started with a drink, and a game. Gambling really wasn't my thing but I later learned that I saved myself a lot of pestering by simply agreeing with him. Although the short man was almost made shorter after he decided to wake me after drinkign all night. Chased him right through the yard wearing only a soaked white shirt and a 6 foot sword." A twinkle in her eyes joined with the smile on her lips. "We kind of became inseperable after that. Of course, had I known what I got into with Aran I probably would not have gone to the tavern in the first place. Although I got to know Rosheen because of him and for that perhaps I could forgive him. Mind, I wonder if he ever forgave me."

"... But there was one thing I'll admit. Although he was unconventional in all his dealings, but he still got the job done. Aran always got the job done."

Shaking her head, Cairma paused as she took a sip of the glass of water in front of her. "I had the worst temper. I really did. I was always angry and, like Aran, he totally took advantage of it. As did many others. Pranks were common in my room and everyone knew was that so long as I didn't catch them, they were safe. I nearly killed a trainee with my temper, my sword barely missing him and not on a lack of trying on my part. Trainee was fast, Rien I think was his name. Or was it Maldrin?" She paused in thought. "I don't remember. What really changed the day was when I tried to kill myself.

"Yes.. it wasn't anything that had happened to me in the past. It was the simple idea, the possibility, that I could harm someone who was innocent was what drove me to the bridges into Tar Valon. It was fate that brought me there that night for as I stood there bemoaning my predicament an Aes Sedai contemplated sharing my fate with the river."

"We saved each others lives. Not too long after Jaydena and I bonded. We were good friends, Jaydena and I, and I do miss her. Greatly."

"Life then just became living. Aran and Rosheen made the Tower bearable, and with Lyssa and Ursana, Braxton, Jaz and Sahra it was never boring. Really... I doubt a day went by without something insane happened, some secret revealled or group prank occured. Toss in Fior, Vera Sedai, Jorality, Calen and his peacock coat. But not all of it was fun and games. There were serious times, trips that lead Daemon and I to literally slaughter men and women that followed the Shadow. Take the bad with the good, and live happy." A small smile of mirth to her lips, "but the Wheel weaves as it wills, as Maegan always said."

"When one grows older, life becomes more serious. I hated that I fell in love. A bonded warder did not fall in love, our lives are not ours but that of our Aes Sedai. Even more... One did not get pregnant. One might think it was taboo for an Aes Sedai to get 'stuffed full of baby', try being a female warder. Problem was, I knew Aran's past and to protect our son I chose to keep that lineage secret." Moments of silence passed as Cairma felt the melancholic sigh. "We were never the same after that. By the time we could be a family he was gone, dead in that last battle of revengence against those that hunted and slaughtered his family."

    After the Yards

"I was done. After Aran's death a deep part of me died with him. I didn't have the heart to stay without his laughter haunting every blessed memory in the yard. My bond to Jaydena released, I left the Yard to raise our son. I returned to Kings Crossing and chose to live under the same roof that I grew up in. Why Kings Crossing, well, I think my story is getting long enough as it is without me getting into more of my family. With one a Mayor of my hometown, one a Captain in the Band and another a Commander of the Children of the Light and me a Grandmaster of the White Tower; my family is just some White's wet dream to try and understand."

"Aran left an impressively large hole in not just my heart but my soul. Everything that I laughed at, everything that brought this life of mine some measure of worth I had found in him. Not a day goes by without me wishing that instead of being the coward, that I had proclaimed my heart and my life to him. I knew he wanted it, I really did. Family was everything to him. But family scared me, scarred me so very deep that I kept it all at arms length. I've kept our son at arms length. It pains me that my own son cannot fill what I lost in Aran."

"I jumped back in the game. Hiring myself as a mercenary for a while. I even met up with the Band -refusing to contact the one other warrior in my family. I could not, nor ever will be part of the Children of the Light. At least the Creator had some decency to re-unite me with the last of my living relatives. But even Jain, the one brother that I actually got along best with (should fighting siblings ever get along) could not even dent that pain of what I lost."

"You think that it's easy to just jump back in the saddle. To pick up everything and move to the next stage in life. But you never knew Aran. He changed everything he touched. He changed me, but now that he is gone I've come to realize that all I do have left is the Tower. The Yard, my sword, and the only life I've known ... its time to try this again. A little different this time. I may be young by many standards, but at 31, I feel much older than anyone should have the right to be. I just hope Jaydena will forgive me for not being ready to bond again." Cairma paused, setting the glass on the table in front of her. "I don't know if I could ever let anyone that close again, really. But that doesn't mean that I am not still me."

  6. Leala was the White Head and MoN, but stepped down a few years ago and we haven't had any other active Whites. My goal is to find people who become active in an ajah, invest some time into them with their own personal characters, and then if they are interested give the OOC staff roles and NSW Head/Sitters to play with if they want.

I feel like if they have the personal invenstment of their own characters in the ajah and the habit of being active it will have a better chance of sticking around for a while. I did it the other way with returning members a few times, but they didn't stick around half as long as the people who moved their own character's up and were active in the ajah before going staff.

That said, if activity suddenly increased to a point where active Staff would be needed I would be willing to look at long standing active members who aren't in that ajah to take over the position if they were interested.

  7. The yellow flinched as the shawled woman in her banded dress stumbled her way through addressing her. It really was the most awkward transition. Something years in the making. After having it beaten into you to know your place it was a very hard thing to rise above it. Harder still when you're exhausted, being ushered around in a daze and still very much the same person you were the night before, not even having a moment to look yourself in the eye in a mirror and let it sink in. For all of that, she seemed to do well to bridge the gap.

Seheria tossed her own shawl to heap on a table an arm's length away from her door and made her way to a glass cabinet and removed a vase. She filled it with water took the other woman's bouque, spending some time to arrange them in the vase. It wasn't a perfect fit, but it would hold up until the woman to find a new one or they wilted. As she did this, the Accepted filled the tea pot with water and began to heat it. Seheria could smell the bundle of leaves she had put in the pot in anticipation. The woman would be tired, she thought she would help her along.

As she sat in her own wing backed chair she studied the young Aes Sedai before her. She hides the weariness well, or perhaps it hasn't hit from the excitement yet. Either way, it will come. Light, I hope she isn't sensitive to the tea. She knew some people took a reaction to the combination in the pot, but mostly it would help restore energy almost giving a second wind that could last a few hours. With hardly any side effects. Aside from a rough crash hours later, but the girl would have that either way. If she does have a reaction she's in the best place for it. The infirmary would see far worse and she would be left to suffer on her own. The Yellow halls would be the best place to drop. Anyone would know what to do and be able able to do it with finesse.

"So, tell me, Celestine Sedai, why did you choose to be a Yellow Sister? What is you are bringing to our Ajah that we don't already have?" She asked as the Accepted brought a tea cup to her. She lifted it, absently looking past the girl who was blocking her view of the newest Sister. Silently, the Accepted moved to give a second cup to Celestine.  She would get more into the heart of their meeting, the beginnings of her mentoring, when the other girl left. She could hardly start in on telling the newest Yellow what all it meant to be a Yellow, and how hellish the next few years would be despite not having to bow down before everyone you passed in the halls.

  8. If you see my post to Jagen in 2015 just above your first post here, you'll see that I'm not a big fan on people jumping right into staff positions.

I wrote then: And as much as I am super excited to have interest, we've had a lot of disappointment with getting staff and having them disappear right away. So, I would like to see you complete all your requirements for coming back (tests and retro RPs) and then you can send in your application and we'll go from there.

I'd really like to give some time for you to get settled in with RPing here again before making the leap to staff. Get familiar with how we do things and let us get familiar with you (even though its changing, there are some pretty standard things we have in place structure wise that we are trying to salvage as we work in changes).

Also, we already have an IC Head NSW character for the Blue ajah and no active members in that ajah (unless you count that I can be active with two NSW for the blues). So there isn't really a need for more OOC staff right now, there would literally be nothing for you to do as staff that are aren't already doing as a member.

As for joining the ajah, you can absolutely have your character go Blue and once you RP through the requirements (as they are determined) and have a little more time settling in we can certainly think about adding staff roles later.

Realistically, the boards are going through a major overhaul right now - as you are aware - so I'm pretty reluctant to add new staff when things are being pared down so much. I would be a lot more comfortable getting a base set before adding new things.

  9. So I read through your raising ceremony thread and it looks like you made it back to the Ajah and said Hi to everyone. You had some info, like the head and sitters, and some glossed over stuff. It looks like stuff was touched on, so I thought instead of redoing all that we would just carry on from there.

    New thread is started here

We can fudge some timeline stuff with my character who is training you..I'm not sure ages in main timeline so I'm not sure if they would coincide retro. Because it is retro, my character will not be black. She only goes black in the main timeline. She's just selfish and bitchy, but she'll try to be nice cause you're new and will reflect on her training skills.

My basic plan is to hit these 4 main things

    1. Chat - Your Goals/Direction/expectations/ Minor Traditions to be discussed.

    2. Your Rooms - react to the decor of the last three sisters, including tapestry.

    3. Trip to the Infirmaries and get your Keys and life sentences of duty scheduling.

    4. Eyes and Ears Info/signals.

    5. Secret Weaves.

You can feel free to work these things in if you want to or wait for me to. How ever it seems more natural. I'm going through and stricking out what we've already done. Or if you want to do something different let me know. I'm flexible (despite how this set of lists looks lol).

    1. Yellow sisters present at a Raising embrace their new sister and give her a kiss on her left cheek (this was included in Amadine's Raising)
    2. Will receive a bouquet of Yellow flowers/herbs
    3. To ensure the Yellow Quarters remain the most flamboyant in the White Tower, all new sisters will have their rooms decorated by the last three Sisters to join the Ajah - being done while we talk over tea at the start of the RP - can continue on for days if you'd like to have people in and out of your rooms moving things around.
    4. Each new sister will receive a tapestry/ornament for her room
    5. Will be given the keys to the 3 Infirmaries (Infirmary of the Body, Infirmary of the Mind and Infirmary of the Young)
    6. Will be required to work in any of the Infirmaries at least 3 days a week for her first year in the Ajah as an intern
    7. May borrow up to three books from the Ajah library of Medical Journals
    8. Will be required to plant a herb bush of choice that does not already exist in the WT garden, she will be required to provide supplies of this herb to the Infirmaries. She will also be required to explain its uses and dangers to the Yellow Ajah as part of her self introduction to the Ajah
    9. Yellow Sisters have to make at least 3 contacts within their first year with non-channeling Healers as their contribution to the Ajah Eyes and Ears
    10. All Yellow Sisters have to attend an annual meeting where drinking is involved(YAY!), as well as a general exchange of new Healing knowledge, either in the form of new herbs, new weaves or new patient care methods. Failure to do so will result in Infirmary duty.

    Weaves to learn:

    1. Weave to throw your voice as a whisper to a particular person in a distance. He/she maybe in a crowd, but only he/she can hear the voice and noone else can.
    2. Ability to unHeal. A dangerous weave which causes wounds to open and fester immediately
    3. Ability to make a person happy. In the Books, the Blue have a weave to induce fear, but inducing happiness maybe useful to Healers and I thought it might be good for a Healing Ajah to have this.
    4. Ability to cause someone to fall into a deep sleep. Again, useful for Healers when they want a patient to rest.
    5. Ability to make hair and nails grow on an animal or a person. Totally use

    I was going

  10. Seheria watched the bustle in the ajah halls erupt shortly after the end of the ceremony was announced. Word spread to the Ajah when the last of the Sisters from other ajahs emerged from the Chamber where the newest Sister was raising. The Yellows had long since been preparing for the addition of the newest, Celestine,  but one never truly knew which direction a newly raised sister would take until the words were spoken. At the exit of the representatives of the six other ajahs it was known and spread back to the chosen ajah to start the preparations.

Seheria scanned her closest looking for the most appropriate welcoming outfit. The Sisters always seemed to treat this day as an extra special one. Any excuse to have a little extra fun, she supposed. Her regular outfit wouldn't do, she would seem cold and disengaged. Perhaps bitter that she is getting further from being the new one. Too extravagant and she would be ridiculed for trying to steal the show. It was days like this she wished she had joined the Bowns.

No one would care what I was wearing if I were Brown; no one would look up from their books long enough to notice if I was in a queen's crown or stark bare, and if I was either they would all assume it was research of some kind and pay no mind. The Yellows weren't so. They would judge in silence and keep a tally. At least, she knew she did that and she was Yellow.

The child would be coming soon. Woman. The Woman would be coming. Sister, she corrected herself again.  Light but it is hard to make the switch. I'll need to school this tongue and fast. The last thing I need is to insult the girl -woman- sister on her first day.

She chose a light caramel coloured dress with a hem at the mid calf. The neckline rose tight to her jaw, sheer sleeves fell to her wrists ruffling out gently as they came to her hands. She accented with simple gold  earrings and wore her dirty blonde hair in a simple updo. Enough to look like she put in an effort, but not like she was planning for days. She tended to wear accents of other colours, but it wouldn't do to welcome home a new yellow in the colours of another Ajah. The Yellow donned her own shawl and swelled with pride. It still hit her every time. How much she had worked to get where she was. What this simple piece of cloth represented. She worked for it and she earned it. She supposed the new yellow would be feeling all of this in full force.

She joined the others in the hall, lining up to greet Celestine home. The Head and Sitters came through and they had the newest one beside them making their way through the halls. She stopped to introduce herself to each of the sisters and Seheria greeted her warmly when it was her turn.

She was last to be introduced and while that would normally never be something the stubborn Yellow would settle for, she knew it was a place of honour so she held her head high and all but made a show of it. There were seven ajahs and seven places of honour when welcoming a new sister. The Head of course, and the two Sitters who went to the ceremony, the three newest Sisters to the Ajah would decorate the living quarters of the new arrival, and the last to greet her on her welcome home would be the one who will mentor her, help her ease her way in to really being a Sister of the Yellow ajah.

Celestine can wear the Shawl, but that doesn't mean she is truly one of them. There are things all Yellows know and this girl did not know them yet. It would be Seheria's job to ensure the new Sister did not make a fool of the Ajah while wearing their colours before she knew any better.

They exchanged pleasantries in the hall and the Head and Sitters said their goodbyes, retiring to their rooms. The others left in turn, some offering invitations to have the new sister join them for tea or walks. Seheria took a deep steadying breath, silently, and only let a slight flinch show as she leaned in to the kiss the woman's left cheek. Some traditions should be done away with, she thought,  this should be the first!

"Welcome, Sister." Seheria addressed her and let a pause fall to give the woman time to react to being called that again. It would take time for it to sink in. "I am sure you have had a trying day and could use a rest. I would show you to your own rooms, but I'm afraid they are not quite ready for you yet. Please, come join me for some tea, some talk, and a bit of a rest. Your day has been long and unlike any other since your arrival here, but I assure you, your journey is just as fresh now as it was when you first walked through the Tower doors. A new journey, mind, and one you are largely in control of...or will be, but a new beginning to a new way of life is starting before sundown."

They entered Seheria's private sitting room and she ushered the woman to sit in a winged back chair. An Accepted who had come to work off some punishment time in the Yellow's quarters dropped into a curtsy when she saw the two Sisters come into the room. "If you'd like some tea, Sister, I'm sure the Child would happily steep it before she returns to her classes." It was a test of the newest sister. To see her resolve, her personality, and her ability to make the leap from just hours before having the same banded dress as the girl before them to now wearing the same shawl as the Aes Sedai.

  11. I think I replied to that already. But yes I am the only currently active one. As far as I know the only people in the Whitetower for active right now are me you Chase and Arie. I am absolutely open to our peeing anything. I have been dying to RP but we’ve been so in active I have no one to play with.

That said I’m not too familiar with the traditional ways of introducing people to the agile and getting started. So I would need some guidance on that but totally willing to do it

  12. Yeah friend!

I’m totally up for rping this . But my only concern is that You actually more experience here than I do.

When I made my yellow character I never really went through the traditional welcoming.

My yellow was a second Aes Sedai and it was actually a black.  So I’m not really sure the traditions to introduce you to.

I can look into it and see what I can do. Or you can kind of lead your way through it.

I just don’t know that I could out of character give you the experience  you want in character.

I would so be up for it and so be happy to do it but I would probably need some guidance from you on what you would want.

  13. I like this for the most part.

Just be careful not to share the leaves that are specific as a secret that we teach our newly raised greens. You can look back through our peas of other people who have been raised to the green. For instants Kathleen. I believe I thought one leala’s  characters but I can’t remember who . That will show you the ones that are secret and only known by the greens.

@U4ea  If you’re here I would really appreciate your input on this. Being the head I think it would be really important to have your input.

  14. I want to differ to Lor mess because she is the green as your head and she has the most familiarity with all of this. However I haven’t heard from her in a very long time.

I am willing to say I don’t know what that is. And in the spirit of moving forward and condensing things and making things easier for people I’m willing to let you go ahead and do what you wanna do.

So I guess if working come in and explain what it is and give reasoning why we shouldn’t allow you to go forward with your plans, then go ahead.

Again bored please do feel free to stop this in its tracks if you think that is the thing that should be done. I know I am the RGL,  but you are the head Of the Sasha and if you know more about this than I would really benefit from learning it from you.

  15. I think that should be fine shape. I haven’t heard from lore in a very long time. It would be on her to make one and/or approve it. But if you want to make one and she’s not around to approve it then I will review it on her behalf.

As the current staff, if you guys want to take on the project of writing up outlines for the other ajahs I would be fine with that.

The downside of that though is that I know a lot of out of character things are written in the boards so it would make sense that if you had access to those boards you could see things like the traditions and be able to base it off of it. That’s why I wanted the heads to do it they would be more familiar with the actual things that would be important in their groups.

  16. I’ve never paid much attention to the main timeline. For one it’s been under construction for several years, for another there hasn’t been activity to really do anything major justice, and more so because I’ve personally never really cared too much for it.

I  tend to focus more on character development and then world development. I’ve never been a huge fan of wealth building. I’ve always been more character and plot driven.

That said I do like that the RP is set in the time that it is. I’ve seen a lot of other sites where it’s so far removed from the books  that personally I feel it loses something.

I would be completely fine with stopping it forward to after the last battle of the books end, and going forward on how do we rebuild the world.

We could in character decide What to do.

I think it would be cool to stick as close look at the books as we could in the sense that we pick up where they left off. Where we go from there could be completely our own.

Perhaps the way tower and black toe are doing together, or perhaps they start to separate towers. The sheanchan could stay this side  and it could be something between the greys and them and the nobles to figure out where the new borders are going to be. Perhaps they go back where they came from.

When it comes to world building it’s really not my strength so I would be more likely to just keep doing plots that may characters would enjoy. And stay out of the bigger things Going on in the world am I someone else suggested.

All of that said I really do like the idea of non-PC characters in all major positions. I think it is the smartest plan because people do leave and come back or leave and don’t come back. It is a lot up in the air i going on in the world am I someone else suggested.

All of that said I really do like the idea of non-PC characters in all major positions. I think it is the smartest plan because people do leave and come back or leave and don’t come back. It is a lot up in the air If people just abandon their post.  Plus people can’t get to power-hungry with their own characters if the top positions are NSW.

I would be up for trying out what everyone says, but I think that keeping things closer to the box and not jumping ahead and time I will keep us unique.

I suppose my vote is for going from the last battle on if we want to Clean Slate Tattoo we can grab a line. Or jumping back in time to before the last battle as if were still working up to it, but that gets messy we want to keep any semblance of what has been done and what hasn’t been done.

I will support anything decided Though. Activity in a different direction is better than no activity with the status quo.

  17.  I am in the process of copying stuff from that archived website back over to our board. I hadn’t gotten to the OP scores yet but they are on my to do list of things to get. And

I’m not entirely sure where I’m going to store them here but so far I’m just moving everything to the Staff board and then saw figure out where to actually how’s it later.

I don’t think I will be moving everything that was on that website because it was quite expensive. But I’m trying to get the Most helpful things. Like the table of leaves and known objects etc.
