  1. Rhya found herself suddenly nose to nose with an older man and had to crush the urge to take several steps back. His eyes were kindly though and Owen had said he was a friend. She smiled warily as he gently ushered her through the door to the building's interior.

That wariness lasted all of two seconds until Niall said the magic word... tea!! Rhya almost groaned in ecstasy. A proper mug of hot tea... sitting down and out of the snow. She'd have given her first born child for that tantalising promise right then. Moving forward more eagerly, she found herself being propelled towards a comfortable looking chair in front of a very large fire. Gratefully dropping her pack and shucking off her cloak, she collapsed into the chair and closed her eyes as Niall spoke to Owen. She ignored the murmur of their voices, letting the heat seep slowly back into her bones.

Note to self. Don't ever pester Owen to take me anywhere again, she thought, slightly surprised that she could still find humour in the situation. The past two nights had been rough, far rougher than she'd been prepared for. Owen had badgered her that first night, not allowing her to sleep, forcing her to stay conscious lest she fall pray to the freezing temperature. She'd found the will power from somewhere to heed his words and now, she silently thanked her own stubborness and the persistence both he and Shadow had shown. How they had survived the following days, she knew not. Her mind had all but shut down from sheer tiredness. Even Owen showed signs of flagging and that worried her more than anything else. The sight of the inn had been welcome in more ways than one.

Opening her eyes again, she wiggled her toes at the fire, eventually kicking off her boots to gain greater benefit as she thought over Owen's story. He seemed to spend a deal of time helping other people for all his general tendency to be solitary. And who helps him? The question popped into her mind with a concern that had her sitting up straight and shaking her head. What business is that of yours? she asked herself silently, her gaze flying to the other two figures in the room. That of a friend. It's natural. He gave me a home and a welcome when none other would. Nodding briefly in satisfaction at the answer she'd come up with, she relaxed back into the chair once more, ignoring the slight sense that she was somehow deceiving herself and unwilling to follow the thought any further.

She looked round the room wearily, admiring the solid craftsmanship in all the wooden furniture and the small homely touches that had been added here and there, until the two men returned to the fire. Niall held out a decent sized mug to her and Rhya lifted it to her mouth, blowing a little on the hot liquid and savouring the taste as it slid down her throat, warming her insides.

"My deepest thanks. You have no idea just how much I needed that," she told him, smiling a genuine smile for the first time.

  2. Human interest and emotional for me, not necessarily dramatic or majorly important. The development of my char and how she interacts with the world and people around her are really at the core of my writing as well as keeping it as true to the Books as possible. My wolfkin pretty much writes herself and she reacts in ways I don't expect. My novice is too new to tell so far. The two Aes Sedai (Amyrlin and Green Sitter) that I play on another site are total opposites and again, they seem to just flow.

Like Jade I love battle scenes or combat. So my next bio is a Band one lol. ;D

  3. Sounds fine on the sisters... makes sense. Yep I'll let you know on the Herbs Lesson.  :)

Sub divisions are the Rangers, Sages and Watchers. (Trackers are chosen by the wolves after being part of one of the other 3)

As to the Dream lesson, I'm thinking that since it was so long ago and the others have gone, we'll leave it as is and when you do your next lot of Dream training, we can just have the teacher add that final bit in for you since it'd likely only be one or two posts. That ok with you?  :)

  4. That all looks fine Jade. Had a read through it. From what I can tell, the last part of your Dream lesson wasn't completed, judging by James' last post on that thread, but your weapon and senses training was all covered. Otherwise it's just your Herb Lesson.

Kara's about to arrive at the Stedding and Erik's picking Jehaine up so we'll get a joint lesson sorted for the 3 of you with Andular.  :)

Had you thought about how to handle where your sisters are? I get the impression Cleo's not going to be RPing and Andrea's obviously left, so I just wondered.  :) Also, any thoughts on what sub division Katrina's going to join?

  5. Edited top post. Think my arrival thread is pretty much finished. Not sure how the post count works here. Do I have to do 8 posts myself? Or is what I've posted enough?  :)

Edit: Ok checked with Elgee and she said it had to be 8 so I'm continuing my extra posts on her and Kara's arrival threads to make up the last 2 posts with meeting my roomies.  :)

  6. Character Name: Seth Roses

    DM Handle: Tigara

    Email address: tigara[at]look[dot]ca

Physical Description: Seth is a slim youth. He has shaggy brown locks that often cover his eyes. His eyes have not yet turned gold, but his bright blue eyes do seem to shine in the moonlight. His skin is of an average tan. He is about 5’11” and about 120 pounds. His taste in clothes leans heavily to green, red, and orange.

    Age: 18

    Gender: Male

Place of Birth/Raising: In the Hills north of Andor, close to the Tower of Ghenjei.

    Character History:

Seth was born a Tinker. His mother gave birth to him while they were north of Andor. His father told him that when he was born, they could see a gray tower shining in the distance.  They were on their way east, to Cairhein.

He lived an average, peaceful Tinker life, singing, and playing instruments, but his favorite was dancing. His feet were light and his figure was slim. Many said that he looked like the wind itself dancing for them. He danced to fast beats, and to slower ones. Dancing was all he wanted to do, and that’s what he did for 15 years.

His caravan was heading west after touring around the Spine of the World. He started to notice that the instruments were sounding sharper and clearer. He kept asking whether the players had made new instruments, but they assured him, they were the same ones they had been using for years. It bothered him, but not as much as being able to see things in the distance that no one else seemed to be able to see. His parents thought he might be sick, so they gave him different herbal concoctions, but they didn’t affect him at all.

Things kept getting worse. He started to crave meat. He had never eaten much meat before, just what the dogs brought back occasionally. It wasn’t his favorite food. He much preferred fresh fruit. But he felt strong impulses to just grab an animal and bite into it. He was becoming afraid of himself.

It was on a cool night with a full moon, that it all fell apart. He was sleeping, and he was beside a tall metal Tower. It was huge! He walked around and saw no entrance. “Leaf Dancer” he heard. He turned around, and saw a big she wolf, with white fur mingled with gray. “Leaf dancer” he heard again, and another wolf was with her. He was going to run away, but they just sat down, and it looked like they were smiling. “Go” he heard. Were the wolves talking to him? Images filled his head. Images of stars. He didn’t really know how, but he thought that the images told him to go west. To some kind of mountains. Probably the Mountains of Mist. “Go, Leaf Dancer” the wolves nodded and then vanished.

Seth woke up in a cold sweat. The wolves were talking to him, and they wanted him to go west. He looked over, and another young man he had grown up with was staring at him. “Seth, your eyes are glowing.” Seth grabbed a mirror and stared at the blue eyes that were staring at him. He nearly screamed. “Umm, it must be a side affect from an herb. It should be gone in the morning.” He told his friend nervously. He pretended to go back to sleep, and waited for his friend to drift back to sleep as well. He got up quietly and sneaked off, running west.

He ran for days. Days and days. He approached the Mountains of Mist after about three weeks, and began to climb. It was a hard climb, and he was tired. He was resting with his back to a stone, when he heard footsteps. Human footsteps. Who could it be?

  7. Great, thanks sweetie, will check them over later and we'll sort out something for your Herb training.  :) We're going to change to group lessons and Kara and Jehaine will need to do Herbs too once their pick ups are finished.

The 1 and 2 is just the first 2 Dream Lessons that are required to make wolf cub, they're usually combined in one single thread. More like a part 1 and part 2 really rather than 2 seperate lessons. May change the wording about that actually as it confused me a bit too lol.

  8. Kiyi breathed again as her newly assigned mentor left the room.

Infirmary!! Bless the Light but that's the last place I want to be, she thought, her mind flying back down the years to the fire and the months she'd spent in just such a place, unable to move for lack of breath through her damaged throat. Not that I have any choice.

Coming back to the present and putting the old memories aside, Kiyi ran through the many strictures presented to her by Nynaeve Sedai, found nothing in them to trouble her and then looked around the office. A small but orderly room that had the same clinical smell about it as the corridor outside. It didn't take her long to spot some paper which she drew towards her before searching for a quill and ink. Having acquired what she needed, she stared at the sheet in front of her for several minutes. She only had one expectation. No other bolt of inspiration struck her so she decided to take the Yellow at her word. Dipping the quill in the ink and tapping off the excess, she neatly wrote one sentence.

I expect to learn as much as it is possible for one person to learn.

Tilting her head consideringly, she finally nodded in satisfaction. That neatly summed up her whole reason for being here. There was information in the White Tower that she would never find elsewhere... more than even her parents had access to. More than the Palace in Cairhien held most likely. Kiyi felt her fingers itch in anticipation. She could not wait to see the Library, to touch the books. What wonders would it hold?

Then there was the city of Tar Valon itself. So many people from so many lands. What opportunities for watching and learning. A smile curved her lips. So many secrets to be discovered. Even Novices got Free Days. Surely there would be a chance to explore?
