Love the story about the soup calculations. How sad and yet so fascinating too. I also find that friends and family who have served, particularly in war zones, are never keen to discuss the details. My fiance's Dad was Royal Air Force and his younger brother was Army and both refused to talk about it. Much of the information I have on my 3 Grandfathers, (my step-grandfather also served in the Army in WWII, and was a prisoner of war in Italy, but thankfully survived to return home), came from discussions with other older family members and through my own family tree research.
Given what's going on around the world these days, it just seems more vital than ever to me that we keep the lessons of the past, and what these men and women fought for, very clearly front and centre.

@Caldazar al'Aemon you're good to go. Time to decide on your character's first RP. You can discuss details in the private Freelanders Club, or ask other members if they'd like to be writing partners on the Dragon Reborn OOC board in this Club.

Warder applicants should be aged 16-21. Bio guidelines can be found HERE.
If you plan to actually join and RP as a mercenary then you'd be applying as a Freelander in the first instance. Changing RP Groups later would require discussion with the WT Leader and Warders Head on how that would be handled.

Too funny. I didn't even notice that he narrated it when I was comparing the two films. The reason I asked the question was to differentiate between that and 'Of Mice and Men' which was directed by, and also starred, Gary Sinise. As soon as you said you were ambivalent, I went back and checked the other one and found the narration credit. So funnily enough, if you'd said yes, I'd have chosen the wrong one.

Yes it sure is, well done.

I had 2 options and the other one isn't remotely ambivalent so... is it A River Runs Through It?
(Edited to Add: and I posted this prior to seeing your later edit)

Like I said, I didn't read it all properly. I was just answering the specific question on Talent.

Is the director an actor who also acts in the film?

Is it based on a book?

Is it an American made film?

Me too, Elgee. World War I in particular was horrific and even trying to imagine what those men went through in the trenches makes my blood run cold.

Is it science fiction?

I was assigned a Blue for a mentor (Polara, or something like that). She wasn't very active, and I was, so I asked my sister Minuet all my questions.
Poledra. Named after David Eddings' character from The Belgariad series. Pol was lovely but sadly, as you say, pretty inactive after about 2009 time. Her mentor was Dwynwen (White) so if you click the link Liitha shared, you'll find Dwyn's info/tree in the first post of that linked thread.
@Liitha Salome was a Yellow.

I have quite a lot of family in Canada, mainly New Brunswick, and quite a few still serving military too. It's the one country I'd really like to visit above all others.

Ohh which reminds me, the 2008 TV adaptation for Sky One of The Colour of Magic, based on the first two Discworld novels. Casting David Jason as Rincewind was inspired, not to mention the rest of the stellar cast comprising Tim Curry, Jeremy Irons, Sean Astin, James Cosmo, Brian Cox, and Christopher Lee as Death! Icing on the cake was a small cameo role by TP himself.

Is it a children's film?
