.....you came to the same conclusion as me but articulated it better. I agree with your point on Thane/Turin. Either Thane's post was TMI or Turin is teammates with Dice and was trying to paint it as TMI. Also, they could both be v/v, but never w/w (Turin and Thane).

I think Turin has equity as wolf with Dice, I don't think that Thane has the same /amount/ of equity besides taking little to no stance on Dice until it was almost over and then it was like "well y'all make good points" with no lead up to the conclusion or any explanations.

Other than that I can't easily see in any world where someone takes Zander's first few posts coloring people blue for funsies as serious unless they were afraid of the outcome because it's true.

Shad I like your point on #293 as well

First part of Turin's ISO on me:

I don't see any misrepping here at all, frankly. It just reads as someone interpreting data in a consistent and utterly foreign manner from how I do and being unable or unwilling to consider it from other POVs. Everything that he says happened really happened as he says, his conclusions just only make sense in a world where everyone agrees that Zander was dead serious about locking Cory town via a soul read.

Laine: i did reply to Turins questions. You'll find that in my iso, I'm pretty certain

well, i'll try to have a good nights sleep and will see you all in the morrow.

Current feeling: gonna stick with the reads i had, we seem to be having a solid town core at this point.

one last thing: Keep it civilized, in-game and fun, people.... didn't really like reading through the past couple of pages.

Seriously, this is "I can't wait for a flip so I can start making reads" Thane we're talking about.

umm... nope. I am quite confident in the people i have townread and there's actually very little that could make me change that. The main focus should still be the grey/orange people i had pointed out. For once, I am happy with a D1 because we did manage a solid towncore and we will wreck some wolves this game. As for my reads not evolving.... how can they evolve if they don't change?

Everything was lighthearted fun and sussing until page 5 it seems. I don't see a serious post in the bunch until Sooh comes back in and asks why Zander is town reading Cory and Zander responds basically with "you don't think I was serious do you?" which legit should have been enough of an explanation to show that all that talk was a joke and nothing more. I've reread the beginning 5 pages like 3-4 times and I'm not getting any srs bsns from any of the players that participated in "backslapping" as Turin calls it. Which puts me at a loss to understand his POV. Which makes me sad.

Right now what are your snap reads of everyone? Just say who.you legit think is town or mafia. Feel free to leave out the nulls. I'm curious.

Right now I will say I am suspicious of all the people that say things like "hopefully we will read each other right" or things like that.

Hallia, Shad, Thane jumping into the 4 v's.

I actually lean town on Sooh for the controversial post. I just don't see her making that post as mafia. Too likely to draw negative attention.

I think rest null. But only on phone so might have missed something.

I think Sooh drew negative attention by accident and the 'controversial' post came later, so I'm intensely null on it.  I have some silly gut thoughts that certain people are town, and they really aren't worth sharing atp.

Why not share your "silly thoughts"?

You seem to be locked in about the one post questioning too early town reading/buddying/"backslapping". I still don't see why Sooh questioning the early interaction is so troubling. Explain please?

Because I (and Zander) felt she should have known better.  If she's town, then hey, she didn't and I can pocket that information for future games.

But like, when was the last game Zander as either alignment did not call Cory or Laine lock town or Lenlo lock scum within the first 5 minutes?

I expect Sooh to recognize that, to a degree that I'm wary she might have been faking but not prepared to call her scum for it.  I don't necessarily expect you to.  But why were you so concerned with me yet seemingly pretty comfortable with Zander when he was the one you thought had been dead serious about soul reading Cory lock town?

Why do you think Calder is scum right now?

I saw it Thane, thanks. I had to actually ISO you to find it because even though Turin literally posted it THREE times, he never came back to it after you responded, he just kinda threw it away.

Dice. Ignore the frustration with bromance or whatever. This post:

*raises an eyebrow*

So this means Thane has cleared Cory already?

And it looked like Zander had done the same.

Why?

Does it strike you as odd or not? Why?

My answer is NO. I think I have already explained.

Answering on Dice's behalf is ~weird but I don't know what to make of it.

Shad has a bit of an "eager puppy" vibe going on right now, and he hasn't to my knowledge taken any stances on anyone. This makes me suspicious of him.

Why?

Mafia want to hide amongst the town. If it can be accomplished early and for little to no game related reason it is easier.

Mafia also like to not have to take stances because then they need to make up reasons to change them if it is needed.

Well, he's not just answering for Dice.

(If you're town I'm sorry for rocking your socks here a bit mate.  I feel bad that you've been getting mislynched lately but I'm not seeing what other people are seeing that makes you obvious villa.)

Hey, that's cool. Some pressure is always good, right? I'll do what i can to help you.

Why do you think Calder is scum right now?

Calder is in the bottom due to my other townreads... Looking through his posts, I'm just not able to clear him. Can't tell if he's joking or trolling at times...

I did notice that too. Like, if I ever asked something, I'd at least acknowledge having read the reply...

Turin just shows a general disinterest in in his reads and that bothers me. Letting his "dadv" get lynched and doing nothing to stop it, and not following up on apparent really important questions. And that's besides the complete mis-characterization of the start of game.

If you're seeing something there that I am not, please LMK

Ok.

I struggled to buy that Sooh really took those opening joke reads seriously. This is why her first post looked strange to me. (I thought this bothered you, too, up until you clarified just now, because of the sequence of posts).

*raises an eyebrow*

So this means Thane has cleared Cory already?

And it looked like Zander had done the same.

Why?

Why are you even questioning this?

Pootaloot are you a wolf?

Remember that while it's not your choice to be a wolf, it is your choice to be a liar

The Person A/Person B argument happens after these three posts. Before them, no one's 'excluding' Sooh from the joke-clear crew.

So either null!Sooh took the joke town reads rather seriously, didn't get why the three (apparently two) of us sussed her and assumed rather that we were, say, 'soul reading' her scum while 'soul reading' each other town, and that lead to Person A/Person B.

or else

scum!Sooh had at least some awareness that we were joking around, made a scummy post irt it, and only misinterpreted (some of) our responses to her after the first post in question.

Both result in the Person A/Person B post. I think that post is null. But I don't see a world where Sooh knew the 'lock clear' jokes were purely jokes and this same course of events unfolded.

The lean, at least in my eyes, hinges on whether you believe a town Sooh takes the "Cory obv town" posts seriously. Unless there was a layer of sarcasm to that first post that is completely eluding me.

I'm at least a little leery of the first post. Not enough to begin to draw conclusions when I have a whole phase ahead of me to figure her out, but it was enough to merit a quick comment at the time. If it didn't bother you, then we're not quite as on the same page here as I thought, I suppose.

Why is it hard to think that someone would NOT take a post like that as serious?

It was very early in the game and I don't see how anyone could be confident enough in their "soulread"s to have the difference in reaction to Sooh versus the previous people.

The last bit sounds like a subtle "nudge".

Question: Let's say that Sooh is really town. Who out of the four "backslappers" are you most suspicious of? (I guess it would be 3 since you aren't going to say yourself) Z, Cory, Thane? None of the above? Why?

Red, I'm not sure what you're asking.

Blue only makes sense if I assume that Turin thinks I agree that Zander's read on Cory was serious, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in context.

Actually, I don't understand anything about this post.

Can you elaborate on what you were thinking here?

What do you make of his actions concerning Dice?

I feel a tunnel coming on. Choo choo Turin?

I'm pretty mixed/confused on him actually.

There's just too many weird things that make no sense to me as a villager. My vote is going there tomorrow regardless, and if he flips wolf, the last could be Sooh. (Granted I haven't looked at Verbal at all, but from what I hear there isn't much)

I think Dice talks out-of-game issues as scum precisely because he does it as town. It's safe. More the lack of anything else to comment on that's concerning imo.

Dice will talk about out of game things especially if they strike him on an emotional level which I think this would. His lack of commenting on other things I can see due to his being distracted by the other thing. I would say it is null.

Defending Dice doesn't make someone scum, but I'm a little confused what this comment is intended to accomplish in Turin's case on me.

I kind of sort of wanted an explosive 300 page game in spite of always criticizing them.

But yeah, that's probably best.

I don't really like this post very much. In my experience it is generally better for the mafia to have a super long game because it makes it much harder to reread the entire thread for the town. This allows the mafia to act more in the moment and not worry as much about what they said earlier and possible inconsistent thoughts.

Don't hate this and don't hate sussing my post in question.

Posted

It doesn't seem like much leading to a vote. Thinks I might be buddying in the intro phase. I'm cool with that. Doesn't like my desire for a long game. I'm cool with that. Thinks I'm 'nudging' someone in my long post @ Cory about Sooh. I'm not even sure if he thinks I'm nudging Sooh or nudging Cory. That whole post was bewildering to me.

All the rest is just a disagreement on whether Zander had been joking or had really locked in Cory as soul read blue. Considering Zander himself made it very clear repeatedly that he was joking, I'm not sure how Turin gets to sussing me out of it--especially without sussing Zander.

I didn't detect spin.  But there's not really much substance for it.

He's voted me for more trivial matters than this as town in the past though.

ugh
