I was giving yours (and Darthe's) theories some headway, but they don't make sense on further consideration.

If Tommy Bused Key, then you and I would have had our abilities target HIM instead of KEY, which means I would have Tommy's alignment, and someone else put in the NK. But this doesn't fly, because I AM SCUM until end of day. Tommy was town. Which means MY action went through, and so did yours (unless someone ELSE has a BD in this cluster of shit that is a game) and is keeping quiet about it. But only Scum would keep quiet - If an unkown SCUM bused KEY, then MY alignment switch would target them, BUT THE BD COULDN'T HAVE SUBMITTED THE NK, EITHER. If an UNKOWN TOWN Bused KEY, THEN I WOULD BE TOWN, and then there COULD be another scum, leaving Key's alignment up for question.
