@NotBob : Serious question.  Consider how we should view you as it comes to end game and think about this question, because I think your answering it could be helpful.  What have you contributed so far that has advanced the game?

Fair enough TG,

I do not expect to make it to end game...and if I do...I'd look at who I'm left standing with...

My play on D1...antagonize Tommy because he came across as..."play my way or your scum"...hate that shtick...why I classified it as controlling the narrative.

I made a small calling out scum routine that more bluster than serious...wanted to see who had the balls to reply...Lenlo did...also wanted to see who/if anyone would try to make more out of it than it really was...thought I might catch lazy scum looking for low-hanging fruit.  meh...it was D1...plus I was bored...wanted to force some action.

My play on D2...left Tommy alone as Clov noticed...voted Darthe cause he was slow-playing but also listed Salami and Nyn as others I could vote...I'll wait for those who would suggest I was distancing from Nyn...but...I'd argue that Nyn got zero heat the previous day and she needed the prod just to get her to post more.  All this before Darthe claims a result on Nyn.  When he does I played follow the Cop and voted Nyn and kept it there even when Rand was trying to get me and others to consider Nyn's response.

My play on D3...more follow the cop...Darthe voted DT and I followed...Clov and Tommy with that ridiculous hammer...lol.

FWIW...I play how I play...if I'm muddying the waters by all means vote to secure my lynch...but very few people have asked serious questions of my play without categorizing it as scum...so yeah...I'm a little defensive when others try to shape the narrative toward my demise.

NotBob reminds me of Red if Red was shook scum that refused to post instead of actively enjoying it.

Recent posts between NB and Clov look really w/w in that "over explaining so nobody thinks we're linked" sort of way.

More of the same...could easily just say I'm not buying what Bob is selling...instead Tommy's game is to catalog it with a reference to another player as scum.

It's overselling and is a classic case of trying to control the narrative...

...and just to add...when I flip...he'll blame me...cause I didn't play as he would have expected.

So each time I've asked you to contribute to the game and you refuse, that's me controlling the narrative instead of you deciding to call me scum for the tenth time and do nothing about it? Why should we have to force your hand to get you to post?

You don't provide specific in-thread evidence or arguments to refute the points of others to make your own. You've used buzzwords in lieu of interaction, vague dismissals in place of casing. I can't recall ever seeing town play that way. I've definitely seen scum play that way though. It's a low accountability approach to the game and it's a sad testament to it's efficacy that you've made it this far by being a pest instead of a player.

There won't be anyone else to blame if you flip town and didn't do anything to stop it apart from shame us for not being able to read you correctly. It's not a word I use often because of the severity, but I would describe your play as active sabotage if you are a townie. You've trolled me and done little else. You dodge when questioned and act like you're too good to play, then blame us when you come under suspicion. The problem isn't us -- it's you.

So I'm hoping you're just scum and your play at least makes sense from a laziness perspective.

Again, you're blaming everyone but you. I offered you repeat opportunities to make yourself useful, open invitations to post and share your thoughts. Each time you snarled and refused, bolting from the thread to return later with some snark about how I'm outed scum, all the while showing little to no interest in the going-ons of the thread or at least trying to prove why you think *I* am scum. All in all, a bit much to swallow as "this is how I play and it's your fault for not reading me as town."

I'm not the high-volume poster you may have expected.  I'd like to think I've contributed and dare I say more than you...but you don't want to see that...whatevs...not sure what good this banter is having during night phase anyway...

What specific evidence do you require on D1, or since we've been playing follow the cop?

My take...you've tried to characterize my play as scummy...cool...convince the town...vote my happy ass and lynch me...just another townie you'll have voted...where were you when we lynched scum...oh yeah...conveniently unavailable.

That's pretty specious.  Do you really think a player like Tommy would have avoided the thread in order to not have to vote a cop-outed teammate?

This is exactly the kind of crap I'm talking about.

I'm actively angry now, and it's impeding my work, so I'm going to step away.

Yes.

Interesting.  I disagree.  I view Tommy as a player who, as scum, would sell out any and all of his teammates in order to advance toward a possible scum win.

I also very strongly believe that players would never make up IRL stuff in order to lie in-game.  That would be against the spirit of the game.  So if any player says that they were away for a bit b/c of IRL stuff then I am inclined to believe them and not tinfoil about it.

As an aside: I also don't give an ish about Tommy's mention of other games as a reason to be away from this one.  Does absolutely less than nothing for me.  So much less than nothing I view it as an negative.

Fine.  I do not know him and have never played with him before.  His claimed that I bolted the thread rubbed me wrong.  If he had RL issues than my apologies.  Expect the same courtesies as well.  In my mind, I did not "bolt the thread".

Really tired of pounding sand.  Not getting anywhere especially at night.

Town wants to lynch me...I'll swing...nothing more to add.

Can you give me your reads on Rand, Mynd, and Clov?

Again, another reason why this has been such a hard read game......I can't tell if Tommy is playing reserved and calculated because he's a townie trying to not let emotions blur his logic or if he's a scum really trying to look as townie as possible without seeming like too much of a scum threat so that we don't question why the scum haven't killed him yet.  I get his whole reasoning of trying to play differently without the "play better" type remarks; however, is this just a planned scam to pull wool over our eyes and cover himself in sheep's clothing?

I like playing with this kind of Tommy better because I don't knee-jerk a scum read on him as much.

But I gotta wonder, why hasn't he been Nk'd yet?

Dovetail that mess with this.......TG reeks of scum to me.  As many of you who have played with me in the old days, I like to throw anything I can at someone no matter if it makes sense or not just to see their reaction.  Beating the grass to startle the snakes is an actual Sun Tzu strategy and it has worked more often than not in these mafia games.  My case on him was full of holes, yet his reaction was way over the top on the scummeter.  He struck me as an enraged scummy who was scared to death that people might actually believe my crap.

We've all been there, when a lynch is lead upon us with the weakest of reasons yet it sticks because the sheep follow.  Nothing is more frustrating to be mafia and have a great game going when suddenly, some moron shouts "scum slip" and suddenly you are a D1 lynch.  That fear of people believing the moron is what drives scum to overreact like TG did.

Having said this, considering that there are maybe at most 2 scum left in this game, I am finding a couple players a bit more scummy than TG.  His overreaction could be all of the above yet coming from a townie instead.

This has been a hard game to read.  I'm even starting to doubt Darthe now.  Well, part of my hydra is.

I have thoughts on this that I'll save for daytime; pretty sure I know why Salami was killed last night.

If you're bored and want to compare and contrast my wolf game I can link you to that game I mentioned that just ended.

Called it way back on D1.

Not sure what the point of this post was, you said "TG reeks of scum" and concluded with "but he's not the scummiest."

Adding to discussion of night killaments, me not dying N1 made me feel about 20% better that the TG fight was town/town and it behooved scum for it to continue into later days.

I saw earlier that you said "we should see why these players died" but then never talked about it again. What's your interpretation?

This has been a hard game to read.  I'm even starting to doubt Darthe now.  Well, part of my hydra is.

I find I couple points very interesting.

First is that you highlight our names.  It seems a subtle manipulation to draw people's eyes and make sure that our names stay in the forefront of their brains.

The second is your obs of Tommy.  I'm glad to see his play is finally drawing your head out of your tunnel to the point of questioning these things.  One thing I find incredibly curious is your lack of mention about his terribad hammer.  Seems like something you would comment on as it is a rather large event in the course of the game.

The third is that I disagree entirely with your "firing the brush" as I mentioned earlier.  As I stated before, the reactions you seem to expect are rather different from the reactions that town/scum would have.  Scum want cases on them to go away while simultaneously wanting to not put themselves in the spotlight.  Thus, if there is a case that is full of bad logic and misrepresentations scum will often find ways to manipulate that don't involve the honest reaction of how ish the case is.  Town on the other hand should have a strong and visceral reaction to bad logic and misreps being thrown about in the thread, especially when it is directed toward them.  Town know they are being honest, don't need to hide, shouldn't mind the spotlight being on them, and are actually scumhunting so a "bad case" situation should rile them far more than it would scum.

In short, I agree with that firing the brush is a method to get reactions.  I think your interpretation of those reactions is bass ackwards in every meaningful way.

The fourth interesting point is this (and I hate this one); you seem genuinely confused.  I associate that with a town tell rather than a scum tell as scum are never confused in the same way that town are (e.g. teammates).
