Scummy, opportunistic trying to hard to avoid conflict.

 

Initial post of the game, initial vote of the game.  This was about 100 posts in and, presumably, about Rand voting Mynd based on what happened in the Cthulu game.  I'm aware that Robert didn't play that game, but I think most people can figure out that Rand's early vote didn't carry much more significance than any of the other early D1 nonsense posts.  If it was just a game-starter vote, I'd probably have overlooked it but actually attempting to justify based on what looked like (mostly) joking by Rand seems more opportunistic than what Rand did.

 

 

 

I just spent 6 hours arguing with idiots on another site.

 

So if we can avoid arguing like idiots in this game, I'd appreciate that.

 

This isn't to anyone specific, just saying. Down with idiots.

Avenue of Productive Discussion.

 

Day One will almost always result in the lynching of a townie simply because of odds (we all know this). My focus thus far has not been so much on the discussion between Clov, Vos, and RandA. I've been more watching those lurking.

 

Scum will participate early on just enough and let town lynch town. I have a tendency/prefer to lynch lurkers.

 

This is DM. We tend to lynch scum on D1 around here.

 

So what do you think of those who didn't participate much so far?

 

I'm rereading at the moment.

 

But I will place my vote on either Lenlo or Darthe.

 

 

If you could advance the case against Darthe and say...get him to L-1...I'd hammer.

 

 

I've tried coming up with an explanation where this post comes from a townie mindsight.  Can't do it.  He believes the case against Darthe is worthwhile enough to vote for, but he's unwilling to put in the work OR lead it? 

 

 

 

I liked the tone of Rand's commentary in blue, it has a sharpness to it.

I don't see this as scummy but rather a product of site meta.  IIRC you should be aware of how emotionality is generally treated here.  

 

Also, what do you think about salami iff NB is scum?

Not sure what you're talking about wrt site meta. I opened with a pact of non-emotionality, so I'm well aware people here can get... butthurt. You talking about Vos or TG?

 

I see Salami as generically scummy for the same reason you posed -- the wolfy pop-ins that don't lead anywhere, as if he's not really interested in a response -- but to memory that's true for him in general. Disjointed. It's been a while since we've made it through a whole D1 together and I'm 20% afraid if I push him he might quit (and I wish I was joking) so my hope is to read BFG instead of him, but she ain't here yet.

 

Is there some link between Salami and NB that I'm not seeing? NB has almost zero content, the greatest contribution proffered thus far is him offering to hammer you and calling me scum for voting him.

This is what I think fake scumhunting looks like.  He calls Tom out with literally no explanation, pats somebody on the back for voting for Tom, and then reinforces it by saying he's spinning...something.  I have no idea what he's accusing Tom of spinning.  He wasn't wrong when he said that the largest contribution at that point was offering to hammer Darthe, and I don't see how asking about a link between Salami/NB from Darthe - which Tom explicitly states he does not see - is "spinning" something.

Oh shit. 2 hours til' deadline. Never seen such a spread out VC on day 1 2 hours before deadline. I guess it's one of the things with the hybrid hammer set-up.

 

Not really stoked about letting random.org decide who dies, but I'm not really sold on neither Lenlo nor NotBob. 

 

Pretty comfortable leaving my vote where it is for now, especially since BFG is still MIA and Csarmi seems to be doing damage control more than scum hunting.

I don't like this post at all.  I would expect this post from Lenlo but not Vos. He starts out with how shocked and panic'd he is about having only 2 hours until deadline.  He stresses how he doesn't want the lynch to go to random; however, he refuses to unvote BeefArmi because one is missing and the other "seems" to be doing damage control.   So basically, he doesn't wanna change his vote to keep the lynch going random because Lenlo and NotBob "might" be town, but Beef Armi "might" be scum. 

 

How can you be that sold on one player being scum enough to risk the random lynch? I don't like this and it stinks.

 

Actually, I wouldn't mind so much if random.org decided who went today based on how hard everyone has been to read in this game; however, we need the vote count info to go forward.

TG: 1 - Mynd - TG has done some stuff that really pings, and some things that read as town. I still think TG vs. Mynd is town-town
RandA lThor: 1 - Lenlo - Had my vote here for a while. Would not oppose this I guess, but very unsure. 
Lenlo: 2 - Drunk Tank, RandA lThor - Null read, bothered by that I don't like the two people voting here
Tommy: 1 NotBob - Could go here. Lynch the popcorn! but seriously stood up well to pressure and I liked his long explanation-post. Would prefer not to
Clov: 1 - NynLia - Not that much to go on here. Would prefer not to. If he dies we got little to go on and it's a shot in the dark
