Introduction

Hello. New user to these forums. There are a lot of informational threads to read, but the first piece said to post here, so I am posting here.

 

A friend told me to check out these forums. Even though she doesn't use them, she loves the books and is trying to get me into the series. I am in the middle of the Eye of the World right now, and I am enjoying it so far. So hopefully I can enjoy the books while discussing them with you all. I'm quite sure I will lurk about and read instead of posting a lot, mainly because I don't know anyone. Hopefully I will become a bit more confident in the future.

 

About me. I am a longtime sci-fi/fantasy reader and fan. I am male, live in the U.S., currently a PhD candidate in British literature. I am also very interested in Celtic mythology and lore. I am attempting to learn Irish Gaelic. I know a good deal of French. Some Spanish. Some Portuguese.

Welcome angryelf, glad to have you.  There are plenty of things to do around here apart from book discussion, so feel free to check out the social groups also. 

 

As for the book threads, there is a lot to read and some really interesting stuff, just be careful not to jump ahead and spoil things for yourself!
