This mini-casing from you serves two purposes for me. 1) It gives me a much better idea of where your head is at and 2) will help me get a fresh perspective on those four players. Thank you in advance.

Red - I'm leaning town on her.

 

Despo - He is very scummy, and is the next most likely to be scum after RTE and Tommy.

 

Darthe - He's more town than anyone else in the game.

 

Vos - I'm not sure. Null for the moment.

@Dawn - Why are you feeling like Darthe is more town than anyone else in the game?

I don't need to solve the entire game on D1, I just need to find the best lynch. I REALLY think it's Dap.

I don't think anyone except Darthe and Despo believes Dap is likely town. Many of us have him pretty high on our scum lists; however, I'm starting to believe your push for his lynch has more to do with going after an inactive who isn't around to defend himself.

 

As a serious question; do you think him not being here makes him more likely to be a townie?

 

He is, to my eye, the scummiest player in the thread, and it's not close. How much time do I give him? A day? A week? What's reasonable? He even promised he would be here since he has so much time off now.

 

 

For me, the scummiest thing he has done was try to be sneaky about unvoting RTE.  I can understand that your perspective might be skewed because you are on the block, but its kinda hard to be the scummiest player in the thread when you aren't saying anything.  His inactivity doesn't clear him, but right now we need to go with the lynch that gives us the most info.

In the context of his post, I felt that he was calling RTE out on the same stuff I saw.  I was agreeing with him but that post that both you and I highlighted seemed to be a smoke-bomb in text form to remove his vote from RTE.  He leaves no explanation for why he did this. 

 

You and I have both been scum and we know that appearing to NOT be on the same team is part of the game.  My take is that Dap was trying to call out RTE's slips before anyone else did and put it in his own words, then casually backtrack and guide us elsewhere.  Womby asked me about this earlier, and that's what I was trying to imply.

First of all, I wanna puke at Tommy attacking anyone for not beliving when he SAYS he is town. Everyone will say they are town, it doesn't mean shit. So your frustration that people doesn't just take your word for it is either super-strange or scummy.

Not a fan of Tommys play. This is just one example post. He is way more involved in not getting lynched than catching scum. Coupled with his reads-list that cleared everyone who was pressuring it's pretty clear Tommys win con is staying alive until his team have voting majority, not catching all scum.

 

 

This is probably one of the worst mafia games that I have knowledge of in a long time on this site. And this has nothing at all to do with the game setup or the mod. So many whiney cry baby players.

I have finally accepted that DM players are not accommodating at all to new players and most mafia games, if read by someone wanting to try a mafia game out, would not look attractive to them at all. Once I thought that we had a different philosophy but this is what it is now I guess. So if you can't deal, then just watch. Mod shouldn't have to modkill and replace because of theatrics ON DAY 1 OF THE GAME. And this from veteran players...

But he openly said that he wasn't caught up when he gave his reasoning for going after Cory. That he and Cory have some kind of juju where he can read him early on. Or so he claims. In any case, scumTommy would have fabricated something believable instead of openly saying "I'm voting Cory without even reading the thread, lulz". I know for a fact that Tommy is better than that as scum. He had me completely fooled in RW. This would be a huge underplay from his part if he's scum in this game. Now, I don't necessarily agree with his reads, but I see genuine effort from his part to catch up and solve the game. His frustration seems legit. Does he think highly of himself? Yeah. But that's really a null tell alignment wise. He's a pompous a$$ and he knows it.

I for one have no real problem with RTE's opening post. I've played with RTE before and I know he comes off scummy more often than not, so that's why I looked into him with care. With that said, I don't recall him ever being on the offensive... as he's coming across in this game so far. Aside from maybe Vos, He seems to have gone hard against people who FOSed/Voted him to the point of unnecessary mockery. Not to say I don't appreciate a bit of sarcasm, but his agitation and prickliness seems rather misplaced most of the time. It almost seems like him trying to fake townie frustration. It doesn't suit him at all, though. He's not one to get rattled so this is really sticking out to me. I'm also not liking him defending Dawn, then attacking her, then attacking someone who is criticizing him over attacking her lol Every time someone brings up his OP he jumps at their throat. Every time someone suggest he's lurking, he jumps at their throat. It's not so much that he's choosing to respond to these things, which is legitimate. But more so the tone of his posts. I would have expected him to be cool and laid back, not jumpy, nervous and agitated.

I agree.  Dap is like #3 or #4 in my Scum Salad, but an RTE or a Tommy lynch would give us more info.  I'd like to see how these two competing trains resolve.

This has to be one of the stupidest reasons I've seen you vote for me. And there's been many of them.

Then he reveals for no apparent reason. Says he's got a lot more info, though considering he's claiming to be VT and it's D1, not sure what he could be referring to. He also gets a bit defensive, IMO.

 

1 post arguing what's wrong about his reveal. I kinda agree, though, that it's a null tell. Yates revealed with zero pressure on RW and turned out being a VT. So it doesn't translate to a scum tell, necessarily. Plus he's tied down to that claim now.

 

1 post pointing out that the attention should be shifted to people who aren't around. Not loving this, personally.

Des - Off his game. Again. But this time it's scummy. He's jumpy with his votes. Uncharacteristically so. He's building castles out of sand with his arguments and they keep crumbling. Trying too hard. People have made several solid arguments against him and I agree with them wholeheartedly. This isn't town Des.

 

Mynd - Never played with Mynd but don't feel there's much sustenance to his posts. He's stirring the pot without adding much to it. There's a lot of "I'm here, look at this" but not much more. Have a scum vibe on him.

Bold - I've seen Des do these things as town as well. Null tell IMO.

He then tells Red that Dawn doesn't need defending, which is funny considering he soft defended her at the beginning against Tsuki. I for one have no real problem with RTE's opening post. I've played with RTE before and I know he comes off scummy more often than not, so that's why I looked into him with care. With that said, I don't recall him ever being on the offensive... as he's coming across in this game so far. Aside from maybe Vos, He seems to have gone hard against people who FOSed/Voted him to the point of unnecessary mockery. Not to say I don't appreciate a bit of sarcasm, but his agitation and prickliness seems rather misplaced most of the time. It almost seems like him trying to fake townie frustration. It doesn't suit him at all, though. He's not one to get rattled so this is really sticking out to me. I'm also not liking him defending Dawn, then attacking her, then attacking someone who is criticizing him over attacking her lol Every time someone brings up his OP he jumps at their throat. Every time someone suggest he's lurking, he jumps at their throat. It's not so much that he's choosing to respond to these things, which is legitimate. But more so the tone of his posts. I would have expected him to be cool and laid back, not jumpy, nervous and agitated.

I expect to be read as town when I am town. I am used to playing with a higher caliber of player that can actually tone read and not lock in a scum read from Post #1 and never ever change it. Even during heated arguments with people I think are scum, if I see them say something that strikes me as town-like, I will 180 on a dime and try to reconcile and focus elsewhere because I don't need to be push a lynch through to prove my might, I push the lynch I think is most likely to lynch scum.

 

Vos, you've disappointed me today. I thought we were almost at an understanding last night. If you can accept that this is me and this is how I play, then you'll have a better view of the game and how to solve it.

The fallacy of this argument from beginning to end is incredible. You expect to be read as town when you are town? Nothing inherently entitles you to a town read and pretending that we all should automatically treat you that way inherently makes you look more like scum. You're pretending to be town in the hopes that if you do it with enough conviction we will eventually just call you it. You have three players in this game chosen from all over the internet to represent the most advanced players around and all three are calling you scum so the second point about "higher caliber" players is elitist and false, not to mention that some here have been playing almost half as long as the game has been around online. You haven't 180'd positively on anyone who you disagreed with so that's a front. You have less incentive to call Dap scum than you could find of most players if you read the past 51 pages unless your reads are so flimsy that you can't find more than one post on anyone else to vote them over?

 

Completely a failure on your part to cope with the fact that you are done for in this game Tom. I just refuted the above point by point and your final statement, that throw away attempt at guilting Vos into following you, seals the deal.

Vos jumped into my pure town list because he was already almost there until Red went after him.  Like you, when one of my hot scummies goes gangbusters after one of my almost total townies, that only further enhances the towniness of said townie. 

 

I think a lot of this contest of urination is more to do with egos being busted rather than actual scum-hunting.  Part of effective hunting involves reading posts from both town and scum perspectives.  Both Tommy and RTE have made posts that assumed others were town when they had no reason to.  To me, that's a pretty hot scum read. 

 

None of us can be 100% sure who is town and who is scum except the Mod and the Scum.

My lock list is my 95%ers.  I build them quick and I keep things fluid.  Yeah, it apparently does mean something different if you think it actually is LOCKED.  I'm saying that I would have to see a TON of stuff pop up to convince me Dap was scum at this point since, as you said, none of us can really be 100% sure.  Having a truly Locked list would be bad town play, this is just so sure that I will not be lynching them today an not in the future without something actively affecting my position.
