Alright, let's give it a try. I gave a long and detailed reasoning on why I think claiming trueness would help town.

If one of us is scum, let MAFFIA worry about how to remove us and when - cause they would have to do that eventually and you know that very well.

Yes if we keep staying alive, the case has to be reconsidered, possibly daily. But this is surely the worst time to clear that up.

Now, Csarmi: Quit it with all the AtE. I do get being frustrated by mafia games. But posting a hundred times and being super emotional doesn't help the game. So many doesn't understand that... The only thing to do is to STEP BACK, breathe, and come back when you're calmer. It does NOT help town the way you're acting this evening and yesterday. In fact, it seems more like you're out to ruin the game for everyone else since you're sick of it. That's probably not the case, but that's what it comes across as. I've had games where the game was a horrible chore, but I do my best to suck it up to make the game as pleasant as possible for everyone else. Remember that basic mafia recently where I was mafia and I think you were the doc? I was ready to lie down and give up the second I replaced in, I was angry and frustarted everytime I had to enter the thread, but I didn't let it show because it would have ruined the game fore veryone else. I'm not perfect and I've had times where I've let my bad moods seriously slip, but not to this extent. Get a grip.

 

Now onto the gameplay... I'm also opposed to the mass claim idea, mainly because we don't need it to win. It's a mechanic, yes, but not a puzzle we have to solve to win the game. I'd much rather look at actual play, than focus solely on the claims and true claims or whatever. It's a distraction, and you've provided more than enough distraction already. Guess that makes me scum too, we're starting to become quite a list.

And yes, distraction. Bringing up the mass claim is a big distraction from actually finding mafia. With you, it's basically a null tell since you always do that, focus way too much on the game mechanics instead of just playing the game. But we're such a small game I don't think we can afford that time right now.

 

And for the record, I don't let meta override my instincts.

I actually really don't like meta. I'll use it as a judge if I see someone acting scummy in a game, but I don't make my game plays based off meta. 

 

And I agree Mish, the talk of using the mechanics is really very distracting from playing this game. It's a basic game with given role claims, not some complicated puzzle game.

@Leelou - the roleclaim mechanics (just as any mechanics in the game) are there to be utilized fully.

 

TBH, I don't really care whether you're a misguided townie wanting to penalize your own team, or scum acting in your interest. I really do believe you should consider reading what I wrote (I'm quite sure you didn't) and act on it.

 

And no, it is NOT distracting from the game. And yes, the first time you'll have to evaluate a claims trueness cause the game might hang on it, you'll realize how badly you played... too late.

It would have been in towns interest if you actually considered what's been going on in the game and make an informed decision. Instead, you jumped in, made up some BS and made the play that hurt town the most.

 

Hammering me at this point was as scummy and bad as it gets. Not just because Thorum won't be back before the deadline anyway, but also because it's a horrible lynch (and because half of the players didn't even comment on it).

No I don't spend much time worrying about mechanics at all. I just ensure we know the exact mechanics and utilize them to the fullest benefit of town.

 

Which is elementary for any town play. It's like learning the ABC before starting to form words.

 

Not having the mechanics pinned down is a trivially wrong play, and trivially anti-town play. It's something that you should never, ever do.

I just don't have the language mastery to explain it better. Or the right metaphores.
