First of all, I don't think it makes any sense for Jax to have made the decision he did.

That aside though I loved the season finale and omg that death at the end. That was brutal.

I also really like that Nero is gonna be the big bad of next season.

It make perfect sense for man who is tired of his life and wants more than anything to get his family away from it.

Spoiler alert

Though now with Tara dead I don't think he's going to go through with turning himself in and I think that Gemma is dead next season.

And is it just me or did fx totally rip of the aftershow format of talking bad and talking dead... I mean even down to the host's first name.

That's just the thing though, Jax finally directly admitted at the beginning of the episode that he thrives in the outlaw life. He craves it.

This is the same moment Walter White had in the finale of Breaking Bad when he's talking to his wife.

The thrill of being so good at being bad is what drives these men.

Jax may not necessarily want that life for his sons but it is the life he's chosen for himself and there is no leaving it altogether.

Besides all that though Jax is not the type of guy to back down from a threat to himself or his club which Tara was.

She was going to send Jax to jail, take his sons, and utterly destroy his club. So in order to stop her he puts someone else less capable in charge of the club, agrees to go to jail for a minimum of over a decade, and let's Tara just skip off into the sunset with his children. Tell me again how that's really any different from Jax's POV than if she made the deal with the DA? No, taking the rap for the KG9's is not a practical solution to this problem and I don't think it's a decision Jax would have made if Sutter didn't force him to.

But now I'm walking into that dangerous no man's land of disagreeing with how a content creator chose to create their content.

There is no real winning that discussion because canon is canon whether anyone likes it or not so I'll drop it here.
