Ok do the archers have come to get to know everyone in dm and i heard that the kin were the type that loved music so i have come to discuss various types of music. for example what would you perfer to listen to, classic rock or alternative? both have the same type of style (i think at least) but different kind of format so lets discuss music.

So what kinds of music do the members of the kin listen to and how much hours or minuets of songs do they listen to per day/week?

For me I listen to mostly alternative like, All Time Low, The Summer Set, The Ready Set (not sure if hes alt) but MikePosner. Mind you those are only some of the bands i like some of my not so faveorites would be Blink 182, Blue October, and Angels and Airwaves.

Welcome to the Kin!

My favorite music is instrumental. The uneducated would call it classical, while some purist musicians scoff at it for being an impure genre, but I shamelessly don't care and still listen to my movie music. I like good soundtracks from epics (the GOOD fantasy/sci fi like LotR, Stardust, Star Trek, Star Wars, etc, as opposed to the latest Sy Fy Original).

Hmm sweet a instrumental listener. i have a question one time my teacher was listening to an awesome song or artist by the name Dynami B (i dont think i spelled it right) and i was wondering if you heard it. i also like the instrumental from the halo games pretty good stuff.

Hey there! :D

I am eclectic in my music tastes... I like everything at some point. It really depends on my mood. I have 78 songs on my phone/mp3 player and, while most of them are hard rock, quite a bit comes from everywhere else!

And Frenchie... have you listened to Bear McReary's stuff from the first season of BattleStar Gallactica? Heavy on the horns, with a touch of trance... seriously, I think you'd love it. Not the other guy who did the 2nd disk, you have to find the right dude. McReary is the guy who wrote the theme music, which just makes you tear up it's so beautiful.

Or maybe I'm just a geek like that. *laughs* It's good writing tunes, either way! ;)

*Snuggletackles Lor.* Hey!! How are you and the little one doing?

Music? I like instrumentals in soundtracks. *nods.* Otherwise my tastes range all over the place. I'm not one for remembering names though...

Oooooh... Battlestar Galactica. Finished watching that recently. It was definitely interesting.

Lor, I have both the US and UK versions on my iPod... because you gave them to me. :) I believe you introduced me to it (which then got me super into the show) when I was writing out the SG-1 Theme song in a concert band arrangement by listening for a few seconds, writing down what I heard, and rewinding several times.... good times. :)

*grins* Hello, Loran! *hugs tight* We're all good! Peanut is acting 3 (which roughly translates to "making me crazy") and Tadpole is exhausting me, but I'm still upright and can't seem to get to sleep before 11 the last week or so. lol fun stuff.

*winks at Frenchie* See? I knew it was a good idea. ;) Great freakin' music!

And Deadly... really? How did you manage to be around folks here and not get addicted to SG1 or BSG? I'll be happy nudge you towards Netflix... *nudges*

*Chuckles.* Awwww... they sound adorable.

Hehe... sounds like peanut is well on his way to being a charming little mischief-maker.

*Grins.* Sounds like Tadpole is getting plenty of attention from Mommy.

*Snuggles.* You'll look back and wonder how time flew by sooo fast.

I'm glad you're all doing well. *Smiles.*

Hmmmm... I've only watched a few eps of SG1. I've seen SG Universe and Atlantis already though.

Got distracted by Bun Notice and White Collar.

*gets nudged to netflix* alright might as well check it out lol

*winks* I've done my part for World Peace... it's called "Spread the love of StarGates and Fear the Cylons." Pay a lot of attention to the description of the Death Gates in WoT and then watch the StarGate operate. I swear RJ was an SG1 fan... *grins*

SG Universe was awful and Atlantis was trying too hard. I didn't like either of them. Once you love the original, the rest is just crap. *laughs* Same goes for Caprica and BSG, too. Sad, but true.

And Peanut is a SHE, dearest. Tadpole won't be here raising hell until August, but based on the nudging and kicking, (i hope it's a) he knows exactly how to get my attention. LOL

Which reminds me, I have a thread to start about babies... *laughs*

So, anyone else have a song stuck in their heads they can't get out? Thanks to Disney's promoting their movie "PROM" for the last few weeks, Katy Perry's "Firework" is stuck in mine. I guess it's a good thing it's a positive message and not a horrible song, right? *sighs*
