This is the thread dedicated to all things Oscars as we count down the days until the ceremony.

First up, the Acadmemy just posted the remaining 9 Foreign Language Films:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed that nine films out of the original sixty-six qualifiers have made it through to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 83rd Academy Awards. The nine are:

"Biutiful" - Mexico

"Confessions" - Japan

"Dogtooth" - Greece

"Hors la Loi" ("Outside the Law") - Algeria

"Incendies" - Canada

"In a Better World" - Denmark

"Life, above All" - South Africa

"Simple Simon" - Sweden

"Tambien la Lluvia" ("Even the Rain") - Spain

The Academy will now narrow the list once more to five films that will go on to compete for the Oscar. That short list will be announced along with the rest of the Oscar nominees live on Tuesday, January 25th at 8:30am EST.

Here is my final predictions for Best Picture Nominations:

Black Swan

Social Network

The Fighter

The King's Speech

Toy Story 3 (I personally would replace TS3 with The Town)

Inception

True Grit

Winter's Bone

The Kid's Are Alright

127 Hours (but The Town could sneak in here)

I have not seen The Fighter or The King's Speech yet. I do plan to see The Fighter this weekend though. I personally think True Grit should win at this point in time but I feel The Social Network will probably take it.

Krak put Winter's Bone on your to watch list. It was great!
