Peter Jackson to Direct Halo Movie!!!!!

This may be old news to some of you but i just found out and i'm totally Pysched!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

 

In case you didn't know Peter Jackson is the dude who filmed and directed the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Movie King Kong... both critically acclaimed movies with lots of awards...

 

so what that means is that Universal got the best guy for the job possible (George Lucas may have been just as good but he wasn't an avid fan of Halo like Peter Jackson)

Yeah, I've known that he was executive producing it for like 3 years now. :oops: Though I wasn't sure if he was also attached as director.

Peter Jackson is only producing. The director will be Neill Blomkamp.

Yep. Jackson is directing The Lovely Bones (currently filming), producing Halo and a remake of The Dambusters, and is producing an adaption of Naomi Novik's Temeraire Trilogy. He hasn't decided about directing it. MGM have asked him to direct The Hobbit, but apparently they are still in conflict with New Line about the project, so that's on the back burner for now.

They are. They haven't confirmed it yet, but things are apparently happening behind closed doors, according to Red Eagle Entertainment.

Normally I don't care much for Peter Jackson. I hated the hack job he did on the Lord of the Rings and King Kong didn't compare to the original. However I will say that if he has the budget for it, he would be a great choice to do Halo. As much as I hated the changes he made to the story of LotR, the imagery and special effects were more than enough to make the movie enjoyable to watch. Though the special effects needs to be better than for King Kong. I know people are thinking "What is this guy talking about? King Kong had great special effects." And that is true as long as there were no real actors interacting with the creatures. All in all I think Jackson could do a great job on this film.

i know i know, i used to think that they should make it a movie, but then i had one thought...

 

 

Merchandise...

 

the movie it self may be cool, but could you imagine a Rand Al'Thor Action figure!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?! OR A lanfear one?!?!?!

 

or a cartoon?

 

AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

 

i liked the LoTR movies, but i hated the merchandise, it made me hate it all, i never wanted to see anything with Legolas or Gimmli or Gandolf on AGAIN!!!!

 

I am too much of a fan of WoT to allow this or like it...
