Discuss Lan/Defense of the Blight Border

Another possibility: maybe the timelines are messed up. Lan charging is days after the Fields of Merrilor scenes, so there's the possibility that help arrives with plenty of time to spare.

Thought I read somewhere that all the timelines were caught up for AMoL. Anyone able to confirm that?

If "caught up" means no longer months apart, then I suppose so. However, I think there's a few days between Lan's charge, Tuon's decision to invade Tar Valon, and the big meeting at Fields of Merrilor. Mat's storyline is also in limbo. However, everybody else is at the fields of merrilor at the same time, except the Band, who appear to be camped outside of Camelyn waiting for Mat.

Force size comparison:

Based on their power (armies they command, number of channelers) and influence on people and nations (ta'avern, leadership ablities etc)

Rand >> Tuon >> White Tower > Black Tower > Windfinders

Channeler army size:

Channeler numbers Rand armies: Black Tower, assume 2/3 will follow him = approx 600 men. We saw over 100 in Taim's camp, but at most he would have 300.

Wise Ones who can channel, 500 for Shadio, assume a conservative 200 per clan = 200*11=2200

Total = 2800, probably armies numbering over 1 million (Aiel, each clan probably has over 50,000, Borelanders, armies of various nations, Perrin, Dragonsworn).

Tuon:

The number of damane are more difficult to estimate, however the Seanchan were very surprised at the large number of channelers in this side of the Ocean. According to Tylee, 400 damane in each side and 1/2 Ever Victorious Army was dead...

Seanchan army has lost well over 100 damane so far (mostly to Rand using Callandor, almost all the rest to Iturlade), but has gained 500 Wise Ones, probably recruited another 500 or so since they came. Assuming they had around 1000 damane from Seanchan brought over...

Tuon has about 2000 damane at her command, probably close to 1 million. The Seanchan have probably lost around 200,000 men in various battles (100,000 against Iturlade, over 30,000 against Mat), but probably gained as many followers.

White Tower: 800 AS left + 500 others who could be useful in an attack.

Total: 1300, with about 50,000 men army.

Windfinders: numbers unknown, but unlikely to be large or adept at fighting

Here is a pretty good military round up. It also claims Rand's Aiel have a couple thousand channelers and around 400,000 spears...

As for the WT 50,000 is the number for the Tower Guard, does anyone know if the rebel army integrated with them? That would put their number at 100,000.
