Hello all!

I'm Rick and I've been reading the series over and over again, (like many here) since 1990, and finally decided to join Dragonmount..

I have seen for a long time that the fans here are as rabid about the series as I am.

It's getting close to the end, and to be honest, I don't want it to end. These characters and thier world are now a part of my psyche. Them and thier world must contine..

I hope I live long enough for the whole series to be brought to the screen in some manner befitting the material.

The ToM trailer is a great start. Tears went streaming down my cheeks the first time I watched it.

Anyway, you all have given me great reading on this site, and I wanted to acknowledge it..

Don't pay any attention to Scott, Rick. He doesn't have any idea what he's talking about and don't give any brownies to shadow, he has a habbit of stealing other peoples brownies *glares at shadow*

 

Anyway, welcome to DM! I am of the group of people, however small, who doesn't wish to see the WoT on any screen. I personally don't think it would translate well. Like shadow said there are quite a few social groups you could get involved with. If you want to have fun and make a few friends you should check those out. Also there's a pretty good RP section. I haven't participated, but I have read a lot of them and they're good so if you're into that go check it out.

Heh, didn't actually expect that response. Thank you, but no thank you. If you recall, I may, or may not be home in a reasonable ammount of time. Clearly I can't post the truth of that statement online as I'm sure you are aware. Even if it was a jest, thank you for the offer, that was very kind of you.

 

On another note, are you at Quantico? I had an apartment in Manassass(sp) for a while during my AIT at fort Belvoir.

About seeing the series translated to the screen... as I said, it would have to be in a manner befitting the material, that is, no shortcuts, no getting off cheap, the entire story with all 590,000 speaking characters (I think it's actually around 1700 speaking characters now? Please correct me if I'm worng)..

In answer to you soccerscott, I highly recommend that you read the series multiple times. From my perception, no matter how many times I've read it, it's awesome each time.. I hope others can enjoy it as much as I have over the years..

BTW, if anyone's interested, Egwene is my favorite character..
