I think he is... i am curious to see how Graendal's compulsion plays into the story

If he is Farstrider, Ishamael was responsible for the Compulsion - referred to it in EotW, I think.

The old man in Graendal's Palace may or may not be Noal.

he has to be because when he is talking about how Jain left behind a good wife and family to go adventuring you can tell that he is really talking about himself, and not to mention the fact that Noal , apparantly, has been pretty much everywhere
