The Finns Cache of Angreal and Power Wrought Items

Some thing struck me as I was reading and posting in Luckers' "Mysteries of Cyndane" thread.  There is the quote that The Finns have vast stockpiles of Angeal, Sa'angreal, and Ter'angreal. My thought was were did the Finns get this massive load of Angreal. I wonder if there cache is the accumulated angreal created and lost from previous ages. I.E. that once the pattern was done with angreal and they were lost for good that the Finns were able to collect these power wrought items.

The only other way I can see were they could collect a large quantity of Angreal is by taking them from those that they kill when the original agreement is broken. This would have to have occurred over hundreds of ages and even then I don't know if they could collect enough to have one for every scenario that walks through their doorway.

So were exactly did the this cache come from? Any thoughts.

The most logical answer is that Aes Sedai during the AOL (and some time into the 3rd Ahe) used this stuff as payment when they traded with the Finns.

I had thought of that also, but that isn't the form of payment the Finns want. For payment the Finns take or even feed off the memories and possibly emotions of the people they provide services for.

Iono..

Times change people change :D

Second the logical answer

The Finns are not people and they are very rigid in holding to the agreement that was made for there services. They strike me as creatures whom would hold to this agreement zealously and without falter and thousands of years wouldn't alter the agreement. If you break the agreement they kill you and wear your skin for clothing. Hold to the agreement and you receive payment without falter.

Wait, they like feed on human emotion? Are they like advanced zombies or something?

That quote concerns the Aelfinn. The ones we have seen having access to ter'angreal are the Eelfinn.

Now, there are some key differences here. the Aelfinn somehow feeds of sensations from the people visiting them, and the people in return gets their three questions. That is all there is to it.

The Eelfinn are quite different. People visit them in order to trade. Trade meaning that you ask for something, and as a payment you offer something. As we see when Mat interacts with them, there is not a set price, or they would not have said that it was foolish to not name a price.

And important to keep in mind here - the Aes Sedai of the OL would have been a lot more knowledgable about how to deal with the Finns than the jolly bunch having a teaparty in Mats head. If they did not want the Finns to hijack their memories, simply bring something else, and bargain from that position.

That is the only logical conclusion based on the information we actually have.

I see what your saying. Two types of Finns, two types of services rendered, two types of payment required.

Look at the Eelfinn as a marketplace before money became the standard payment...

A: Hey, I want your goat.

B: Ok, then I want your pants.

A: Well, you can not have my pants. But you can have these bottles of apple cider.

B: Fair enough, if I drink those, I will not be wearing pants anyway.

*Chop!*

A: What the hell was that for?

B: You only said you wanted the goat, you never said if you wanted it alive or dead. Or even in one piece. Here. I throw in a sack for you to carry the bits home.
