Character History:  

 

Gabriel Morgan was born the 2nd son of his parents, who were well off ranchers around Aringill on the Andor side of the river. He was tutored in the running of the family business as well as how to ride, shoot and a little bit of swordplay as a young man. Being the 2nd son he had not expectations of inheriting the family business or lands.  Julianne had been a childhood sweetheart, they had grown up neighbors and had been promised to each other from long before their parents had though the arrangement a good idea. They were married just as soon as they were both able. His parents gifted them with a small house on part of the ranch that was unused and Gabriel continued to work for his father. The winter following their wedding Gabriel’s parents both died of the fever and Gabriel’s brother inherited the Ranch, Gabriel continued to work the ranch for his brother for a couple years. In the spring of their third year of marriage Gabriel’s brother was trampled to death in the spring Calving and the Ranch and the responsibilities passed onto Gabriel. He came to find out that his brother had run up huge loans on the Ranch that were outstanding and the only way it seemed possible to pay it all off was to sell it. Reluctantly after many nights Gabriel came to the decision, with Julianne’s help, that it was time to sell. Gabriel approached the one of the only men in the area capable of buying the land the ranch was situated on, Lord Swandell. Swandell was willing to buy the ranch, but he offered Gabriel and Julianne a way to keep it. It would mean doing a favor for Swandell though. Gabriel didn’t entirely think this through and accepted the deal. The deal was; Gabriel would lead a small group across the Erinin to drive cattle that would be provided to him. When the day came Gabriel left off with some of his trusted drovers and met the man just as planned. In fact everything went smooth as silk until he returned to Swandell’s with the cattle. It was then that he was arrested for Cattle Rustling and thrown into Swandell’s dungeon. Gabriel had been set up. A couple days later he was to be turned over to a nobleman called Wreisland whom apparently the cattle had been stolen from.  The next day Wreisland and his men were taking him back to be hung at Wreisland’s estate when he was rescued.

 

               As it turned out Swandell had wanted Gabriel out of the way for more than just the ranch, he also had designs on Julianne’s parents land through Julianne herself.  After  figuring out there was no way for a cattle thief to get his ranch back, or even his own home,  Gabriel and Julianne disappeared into the woodlands and have made a nuisance of themselves to both Swandell and Wreisland at every opportunity since. In addition they have attracted a few compatriots similarly put out by the Lords who now have a way to strike back.
