dan0uge
Hello! I was just wondering about everyone's favorite Ta'Veren and thought I could make a poll out of it... It's probably been done before but just think of it as one more chance to show your opinion ;)
Eel-finn
Personally Mat is my favorite. I find his character the most enjoyable, and the easiest to relate with. I also think he is completely badass with his Ashandarei and all of his new memories.
White_star
I love Rand and am wholeheartedly behind him. I fully expect Mat to win this however, since few understand Rand and most consider Perrin to be a complete looser at this point.
Bela_theDo
Who doesnt like Mat? The only person we all agree to love with. ;)I love his sense of humour, and the fact that his PoV's are rather enjoyable than anyone else's.
Pikapi
I like them all, but personally, Mat is definitely my favourite. I can definitely relate to him the most :)
Thanatos
My favorite has got to be Rand. I mean come on. The strongest ta'veren since the AoL, and possibly ever. He is just a complete badass. Nobody can stop him. And you really see his ta'veren nature at work in tGS. Can't say anything about it because of the spoilers, but nobody else has any scene like it. amy93
Rand. He is depicted so well, I like his inner struggle to remain sane, LTT's voice in his head, his sense of duty.. I think he's one of the most misunderstood characters, I mean, he always tries to do his best and people think he's mad, he's going to ruin everything and so on... Poor Rand. OptimusPrime
Rand by a long way, all the way through the story. He is such an indepth character; I remember reading an interview with Brandon and he said that writing Rand can be very draining, and I completely understood that. There are so many different levels to him, theres so much that influences his personality, I bet there was a hell of a lot of crossreferencing going on when Rands PoV was being written. I am always waiting for him, and even the scenes where we see him through someone elses eyes dont fully satisfy the waiting. Now that I dont have to worry about spoilers, I ALWAYS look forward to see how many pages I need to go through to get to him :D Mat comes in second place. He is a long way behind Rand, but that is a point for Rand and not one against Mat. He makes me laugh a lot of the time, his development is reasonable without removing the comedy element, and I love the whole Gambler Trickster Son of Battles thing. I like how he is the Fox That Makes The Ravens Fly. Just picturing Mat is almost as much fun as picturing Rand. Rand has herons on his hands, metallic Dragons on his arms, two never-healing wounds in his side, and a severed hand. He carries a sword, and the Dragon Sceptre, and wears a belt buckle in the shape of the Dragon. The main thing about Rands external image, to me, is endurance. Mat has the foxhead medallion, and a ring with foxes and ravens on it? He also wears a black scarf, a black broadrimmed hat, and carries the ashanderai, which is also marked with raves, part of his sigil. Also the fact that he has the scar around his neck fits well with the Trickster image. I love how he makes the ashanderai look as much like a fashion accessory as a weapon. Perrin in my oppinion simply cannot live up to Rand and Mats awesomeness. He had potential, with his wolfrage, and dream skills, and the axe vs hammer agony, and adopting the hammer & dagger style later. Perrin has shown a colder ruthlessness than Mat, but it just doesnt go far enough to make it good. The hammer vs axe thing should have had more to it, and the Wolfbrother side was supressed too much in the middle books-its understandable, but it just doesnt hold any weight when you stand Rand and Mat next to him. Well personally, I think Perrin Is the Stable and dependable one of the trio. I mean it's like you say, he has allot of potential with his wolf rage but he manages to contain it so he can think it through clearly. If I remember correctly, he even says in one of the books that people from edmond field used to think he was slow when he just thought things through better than anyone else. I can understand that he may not be the powerful emotionally challenged demi-god that rand has become, nor the tricky leader of men like Mat, however he is the one that has resisted the most to the world changing around them and has found the strength to remain a true Edmond Fielder always doing the right thing. Of course, (and I hope you will pardon me for this poor analogy) when you are going to a big party and one of the people you know is a designated driver, It can happen that you will have slightly more fun with the other drunken souls than with the clear thinking, still rational, driver that brought you there and that you can trust to bring you home safely. Now, having said all that, I voted for Rand because I like his emotional and intellectual complexity... and when he annihilates his enemies

Yeah I get what you're saying, Perrin IS no doubt the one who thinks things through more, the one who has kept more of the Emond Fielder. I just find that the way Rand and Mat are grants them a lot more flashy stuff than Perrin so in comparison Perrin feels less exciting to me. Its a flawed outlook on it, I know, but I cant help it :D I dont mind Perrin, I dont think he is a writeoff or anything, but I do find that his achievements lack the scale of Rands and Mats and thus it feels like he isnt as significant. Saying that though, Im sure there are a few more Viewings or Dreams about Perrin to be fulfilled, aside from the Wolf summoning and the lights filling darkness. We know Perrin is going to be absolutely vital to Rands survival at least one more time. Plus Perrins ability to smell emotions is handy so his PoVs do offer some hints to us I think, hints we might not get from a Rand or Mat PoV. One thing I enjoyed with Perren though, was that during the seemingly endless Faile rescue he formed a connection of his own to the Seanchan. Cant remember the name of the General he worked with... was it Tylee? Kirgan? Anyway, that was good, I always imagined the fact that both lesser Ta'veren had been briefly exposed to the Seanchan and walked away with their own connection to them was a nice way to show the Seanchans importance. I agree completely, but then I love any part of the story that has to do with the seanchan fighting with or against non-seanchan people :D
