In book two Verin is caught in a direct lie, when she says Moraine sendt her after Rand and Ingtar, something Moraine denys later in the book.

 

Is this proof that Verin is black ajha?

She's not really caught in a direct lie, though. As long as she got the impression that Moiraine sent her, then she could say anything she wanted. Also, much later we've seen her consciously avoiding having to tell a direct lie by saying something which was technically true, but which would be taken in a different way.

 

'"The heat is very bad," Verin said, helping her to sit up again. "I have felt light-headed myself once or twice today." From weariness, not heat. Handling that much of saidar took it out of you, especially when you had already done it four times today.

The FAQ is incorrect about Verin totally. 

 

"Verin is evil," is far more likely the correct answer.

Verin may be evil, although there is nothing to support it, but if she is it's an evil other than the Shadow.
