Portuguese addition to the community

Hey everyone!

 

Soo, first of all, I'm portuguese... Which means my english can get pretty ugly at times  :-\, BUT I'll try my best to write as clean and logical as I can.

 

I started reading tWoT two years ago, and just finished KoD yesterday (so only the prequel is left for me to read). I read the first three books in portuguese and loved them. However, after finishing the 3rd book, the publisher was still translating the fourth. Which left me pretty mad, and with only one of two possible choices: I could wait a lifetime until the entire series was translated or I could tackle the original english books. Now, I've always loved english and got pretty good ranks at the subject (btw, I was sixteen at the time, which makes me 18 now :P) but... I was afraid I lacked the vocabulary and skills to read such a colossal literary work. I tried, however, and ordered the Shadow Rising from amazon. The first 100 pages were tough, I had an odd feeling while I was reading but suddenly everything started to flow. Naturally, I kept on reading and here I am. All I can say is... wow. Ooooh the deepness, ooh the geniality! Ehem, anyway, I'm diverging...

 

I'll be looking forward to have productive discussions with people from the community!

 

PS: The spellcheck deals with most of the grammar errors, but if you find incoherences in the phrases please let me know!

Welcome to the Dragonmount Community! Your English seems fine to me. I think it is funny when non-traditional English speakers think their English is so bad but it turns out to be better than most Americans.
