A WHEEL OF TIME COMMUNITY

(Atten: Tigara) Saidin RP: To be a Weapon

Seyneru bade good day to her grandmother Estean and walked out of the house, his face composed.  He was wearing the black coat that he had been given the first day here.  Needless to say, the size of his coat was rather big, due to his height, a trait that he had inherited from Estean.  The coat swirled as he strolled, taking in the sights and scenes.  The previous two weeks or so, when he had arrived, he had already caught on on how to embrace the source very quickly.  Apparently it was uncommon, but not unheard of for one to progress so fast in strength.

Today, Seyneru was to be taught by someone that he had no inkling of.  His name was Mercury al'Thorin, but people most commonly refered to him as 'Myrrh'.  Having no notion of what the future held, Seyneru could only hope for the best and that Myrrh was a patient person, unlike some of his previous teachers.

Walking, Seyneru though about of the events of the past few weeks.  Estean was settling in nicely, though she was still a bit uncomfortable around men who could channel, and in her opinion, switch from sane to mad in an instant.  But Estean had been reassured by some Healers among the Asha'man that the madness rarely came on that way, but in progression.  And that usually long before the they went truly mad, they were given something in their wine that would put them into a wakeless sleep.  Seyneru shuddered.  He knew his fate.  But he would accept it for the greater good of mankind, to prevent the Dark One from blighting the world.

Reaching his destination, Seyneru raised his hand, and knocked on the door.

Myrrh woke up in his bunk, dreading the day. He hadn't been a Dedicated for more than two days and already, he was teaching little whelps. He dreaded teaching, or anything that required him to be somewhat civil. He had trouble with his temper...and maybe even his tongue. At least on the bright side, the Soldier already knew how to at least take hold of the Source. In his opinion, that was the worst thing to have to teach.

In his head, he went through a mental checklist of what he needed to remember...what he needed to teach. He had heard that this boy showed considerable potential in Earth, and was of no little strength in Fire and Spirit. A weapon, this one would be. A good one.

Throwing on his boots and black coat, he started towards the door, his fingers on his collar. He wasn't quite used to wearing his Silver pin, so he often reminded himself it was there. As he reached for the door, he heard a ratting on it. He opened it and there was his charge, standing on his doorstep. He arched an eyebrow at the boy. At least he's punctual.

"Well well, it appears that you are the lucky boy who gets to be my first student. We're going to the training grounds, but you're going the long way around the dining hall. Exercise and all that. Get to it and I'll meet you there. Now!" Myrrh barked. He might enjoy this after all. It was good to be in charge.

Seyneru's slight smile faded and fell off as Myrrh opened the door and stared hard at him, unsmiling.  Arching his eyebrow, Myrrh spoke in a loud voice, commanding.  It seemed that he had a bad temper.  Trying to control his own, Seyneru listened as was polite.  He was a Soldier, Myrrh a Dedicated, and respect was required of Seyneru.  So he swallowed his temper, and listened.

"Well well, it appears that you are the lucky boy who gets to be my first student. We're going to the training grounds, but you're going the long way around the dining hall. Exercise and all that. Get to it and I'll meet you there. Now!" Myrrh barked.

Seyneru bowed deep, and said, in a respectful tone.  "As you say, Myrrh Dedicated."  Running off, he started down the street towards the dining hall.  He also took the opportunity to explore the place.  There were areas that he had never even had the time to see, let alone explore.  But he could not explore for too long.  Myrrh was waiting.

Jogging, he ran around the dining hall, taking note of the faces he saw.  He recognized some familiar faces, but almost instantly they disappeared in the throng.  Interestingly, there seemed to be an uncanny amount of women and girls in the place.  It seemed that if Estean did not attract attention to herself by channeling, or mentioning anything incriminating, she would not stand out from the crowd.

Running off from the dining hall, he reached the training yard, where he noted slightfully resentfully that Myrrh was still as clean and fresh as they came.  A stark contrast to the sweat stained black coat that he was now wearing.  And with the perpetual summer as it was, it would be horribly stifling and uncomfortable.
