Talyn scurried to the White Tower Library, he had forgotten to return a book to the Library and he didn't feel like being thumped by the nice Brown Sister who ran the shelves. Thankfully the Sister was not at the desk as he dropped the book off in front of the chair she usually sat in. Talyn signed and turned around quickly and ran right into the sister he had been avoiding.

"Returning a book?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Talyn glupped. "Yes Aes Sedai, returning a book." He skirteda round her and quickly walked out of the Library. He had no idea why this particular Aes Sedai scared him, maybe it was because she always seemed to look at him as if she knew more about him than even he himself knew. Talyn was by far a green Tower Guard, he was a Lieutenant after all and he had an example to set, but this woman set him on the edge.

Talyn's worries set his mind wandering and he wasn't paying attention to what was in front of him. He smashed into something and when he looked around he saw an angry woman with papers and books lying scattered on the floor. "I'm so sorry Aes Sedai. I need to be more careful." Talyn quickly set to picking up her things hoping she'd not be angry at him.

She was one of the few in the White Ajah who has some contacts outside the White Tower. But Aleanda believed it was necessary to do what she believed what right. Her personal philosophy. Aleanda had just sent away some letters and now she was having an afternoon of nothing more than easy philosophy in the White Halls with whoever was feeling for having a little chit chat with her.

It had been a busy week and Aleanda believed she had deserved it. She had worked until it was late at night, and she woke up to start working again early in the morning. But this evening she would go to bed early.

While walking to the White Ajah quarters Aleanda looked through the papers she was helding on one arm. It were quite much papers about various matters. There were papers she hoped no one would ever see. Ever. Keeping your own philosophy was not appreciated by everyone.

On the same moment, Aleanda was still walking and looking over one of her own reports about recent happenings in the White Tower and a Tower Guard smashed into her. Aleanda was not amused. "Can't you look where you walk? Look at what you've done! All my papers." Aleanda looked, as cold as ever and perhaps because she was pretty mad she looked even colder, might that be possible. The guy made his apologises and started to recollect all papers from the ground. Aleanda, quite impressed by the apperance of this Tower Guard, didn't know what she had to say about his polite action to pick up that papers. Aleanda helped with picking up her own papers and when they were done and she got her papers back from the Guard she said "I appreciate your polite gesture to make up for your foolish behaviour, not paying attention to where you were walking, by picking up the papers for me but next time ask if you are allowed. The light may know if I were carrying papers you are not supposed to read. Understood? Sir...?" Aleanda made her last question sound that way it was clear she was asking for his name. She was curious, as she wouldn't mind coming across this Tower Guard a second time.

Talyn hadn't even glanced at the papers he was picking up and was slightly offended by the accussation that he did. But he let it slide and smiled at the Sister before him. It hadn't even dawned on him to read the papers, he had no reason to spy on her, she wasn't anything but a mere sister, not someone who could influence his cause, one way or the other. It didn't matter, he was taught better than that. His mission here wasn't to spy. He didn't know what it was really.

"Yes Ma'am. My name is Talyn Rashad." Talyn offered his hand for a handshake and smiled brightly noticing her hands were full of her papers. "Can I assist you in carrying these to where ever you are going? I promise to watch where I'm going."

Aleanda waited patiently on Talyn's answer. She hoped she wasn't offending him too much with her accusation, but her papers were just a little more important than this Tower Guard. Aleanda looked if she hold all papers again but as she saw no papers lying on the ground anymore she believed so.

"Yes Ma'am. My name is Talyn Rashad." The Tower Guard said while offering a hand for a handshake. Aleanda looked from her papers to his hand and from his hand to Talyn himself. She noticed a brought smile accompanied by the question to assist Aleanda to where she was going and the promise to watch where he walked. "With such a promise you are welcome to accompagny me to my room. My name is Aleanda Antori, by the way. Nice to meet you," and she gave him her papers. "This way please." Aleanda started to walk to her room.

Talyn wondered if this is what a Warder felt like, following a sister. This was the first sister he'd helped in such a manor. He'd sparred with Christine Sedai and talked to several Browns in the library, but he'd never taken to working for or with an Aes Sedai. Tayln follwed closely, he didn't want to appear a servant or an equal so he stayed on step behind her to her right. "It's a pleasure to meet you sister."

Talyn wasn't sure which ajah she was from and he wondered if asking was polite but his curiousity always got the better of him, it always had. "Might I inquire as to which Ajah you are in? I've not met many sisters and then the ones I have have all been Greens or Browns." He hoped she was of another ajah, he wouldn't know what he wanted from a sister in a bond if one ever asked if he didn't know personally about each ajah. Sure there was the text book descriptions but not all sisters fit in that norm. It was always a good idea to know the others as well.

Aleanda noticed Talyn following right behind her. SHe was satisfied. Aleanda wanted to have a conversation. She wanted to talk about something, but she didn't know what. She was wondering if this guard had anything of interest to tell. She doubted it, but you could never know. In anyway Aleanda didn't know with what she could be talking with him about. Nor if he would be interested in having a conversation. Not that that mattered, but Aleanda wouldn't like talking to someone who didn't want to talk with her.

Before Aleanda could come up with anything Talyn asked from which Ajah she came, in a polite and behaved manner. Aleanda almost wanted to laugh. Had he not done his homework properly. She was walking in a white dress with a face of steal. Almost everyone in and around the Tower knew on first sight she was from the White Ajah. Though Aleanda wondered if they get thaught anything about the Ajahs at the Yard. She would have thougth so. "Greens and Browns you say? Well I'm not from the Green, nor from the Brown Ajah. I'm one of the White Ajah." Aleanda looked over her shoulder to the guy's face when she said that. "Surprised?" Aleanda wondered.

Talyn looked ashamed, he had missed the obvious but it wasn't polite to assume things either. Maybe she was just mean and liked to wear white. But Talyn didn't let his shame show for long, he pulled a quick smile when she turned around to see his reaction. "No ma'am. I probably should have guessed, but I was taught not to assume things." Assuming things as a Dark friend could lead to disaster particularly if you assumed wrong.

"The White Ajah is one of logic and philosphy, right?" The woman nodded. "So you are a woman of reason and opinions?" Talyn hoped she'd not be offended and added to his question. "I don't mean to offend you, I just find most peoples opinions are not always based on logic or on reason." He knew his own opinions varied on many things, particularly his views of the future, but he couldn't share that with this one, or could he. As Talyn continued his comments he flashed a darkfriend sign that fit into most normal conversations. "Most people base it off of their own emotions. Sometimes that leads to wrong assumptions."

OOC: Finally a reply:

IC:The shame left Talyn's face quick. "Taught not to asume things." Aleanda softly repeated Talyn, she said it to herself but was sure that the Tower Guard would have heared. "Need to remind that."

The explanation, of why he was a little surprised by Aleanda saying she was from the White Ajah, was followed by a question. Aleanda nodded to the first question and thought a little about the second. "I'm not offended Talyn Gaidin. I'm enjoying your curiousity. There are many around the Tower who would not ask so much question to a White Aes Sedai. They're.. afraid." Aleanda shook her head. "But indeed I'm a woman of logic, and of opinions if you want to put it that way. I'd say I'm more of reason and truth than of opinions, but to find the reason you need to know people's opinions. I consider myself as a phylosophical woman, still I'm one of those few Aes Sedai in the White Ajah that keeps themself also busy with the world we live in right now. How the world reacts on recent events." Thinking about what happens to the world Aleanda shook her head only a little. Barely noticeable.

"But yes, emotions are an obstacle to think logically. You need to put them aside if you want to find the true reason behind something. Opinions are based on how you have been raised. How you see and feel things. What you believe, what you think is right and wrong. Opinions are always subjective." Talyn walked next to her and she looked at him. "I believe you were interested in getting to know more about the White Ajah and that was the reason you asked me about opinions, but someone who knows you a lot longer than only a couple of moments might say that you are not interested in whatever Ajah at all. But who's wrong. This person or I? There's only one who knows. My information is incomplete and therfore my opinion is subjective and can I be totally wrong. To find out the truth, I should ask you. That's quite logical, isn't it?" A nod.

"You are right when you say that most people don't base their opinion on reason or logic. But I do and that's why I chose the White Ajah." Did you? Did you really? Did you chose right? Aleanda banished the thoughts. "Though it is logical to base your opinion on what you believe is the truth. But because you don't know the real truth your opinion is subjective. Now onto emotions. I take you as example again. I believe I can like you, but reason tells me that I can't like someone after a couple of moments, so I don't. But love and hate for interest in the Ajahs can be a reason to like, or dislike you. Although that depends on who you are talking to. I do like it when people, other than Aes Sedai, are interested in the Ajahs so you still make have a chance." If Aleanda wouldn't have been from the White Ajah, inspite of all her Aes Sedai worthyness, she'd wink. "Are you still with me?"

OOC: I hope this still makes sense :D If not tell me. If you have questions tell me. If you like it you don't necesarily have to tell me.

Wow, she talked alot was all Talyn could think. He wasn't sure whether or not to be lost or say he understood. Philosphy was not his strongest point, nor was a debate and his own philosphy was so much different than others because of his upbringing he didn't think she'd understand his reasonings.

Talyn spoke softly. "I think I understand most of it. It's all a matter of perspective." He hoped he got it right, he didn't want to be lectured. He had enough of that by the Browns in the library when he was doing his own studies. "Though I am always intersted in learning new things. I beleive your emotions lead you astray, even in battle." He didn't understand those folks who took the Spring as their means of reaching ko'di. Emotions played games with your mind, and even honing the skill he felt would do the same thing. Bring anger into a fight and you are sure to make a mistake. Cold fluid motions of the forms were the only thing that you could do that were flawless, until you got riled up.

Talyn noticed the querying look on the Aes Sedai's face. He smiled brightly. "I was just thinking about the philsophies of a fighter. The void versus the Spring."

Aleanda listened to what Talyn said in reaction on her question. She ware really curious to know whether or not this flood of words had lost his attention and was too much for his brains. She really believed it would as it was something the Whites had been busy with for a long time. It was not something you picked up after one time of listening. It took classes, lessons to understand. This Talyn seemed to come along pretty well. The answer to Aleanda question seconded that.

"Though I am always intersted in learning new things. I beleive your emotions lead you astray, even in battle."

Aleanda gave Talyn a look that asked for an explaination of this statement. It wasn't like she disagreed though hearing her own ideas coming out the mouth of a stranger asked for explaination and, next to that, she just liked explaination of people's opinions. The answer to the querying look, that Talyn was talking about the philosophies of a fighter explained a lot. Aleanda had heared of those and she believed indeed that this philosophy in which the fighters didn't use their emotion, the Void, was better than that other one, the Spring.

"Aah yes, I believe as well that that philosophy is much better than the Spring. Emotions are not to be used in battle, because that would lead to failure most likely." She saw the man nodded. "Could you tell me a little more about the Void. I've read about it, but hearing it from someone who uses the philosophy is, of course, much more interesting."

Aleanda Sedai.
