Personality

Fawne is a hard worker, she has grown up in an inn and had a big family around her. All of them were ready to teach her reading, writing, cooking and Fawne took it all in. Her father and later her mother gave her weapons classes and taught her how to do some basic fighting. She sparred with her brother and sister and learned about herbs and medicinal use. She is someone who studies easily but can easily be distracted from her task. She has a bit of a temper and can be fierce when she feels tricked or treated unjust. Her love for her family is her drive at this time, the death of her father a memory she dares not look into as she is afraid of the overwhelming pain.

History

Fawne was born as the second child of Matalina Gaidin, in the Fortress in the Blight where her mother had gone to hide her pregnancy and find her true faith in the Dark Lord. Fawne was taken back to Tar Valon within a month after her birth. She does not know she was not born in Tar Valon and assumes this city is her place of birth. She grew up in the house of Lila, an old friend of her mother’s, together with her half brother Jefferey Kincaid. She grew up as a happy child, when she was two years old, her father found her, Alexander Namere. From there on out, she grew up as her father’s daughter, her mother left Tar Valon and was assumed dead from there on after when Fawne was nearly four years old. Fawne never questioned the changes so early in her life, where her mother went or why her father only came in her life at the age of 2. She assumed it was natural and loved both her mother, her father and Lila as her family. Jefferey Kincaid was a constant factor in her life and there were no reasons for Fawne to feel alone or be hurt by the changes.

She stayed in Lila’s house after her mother left along with her brother. Jefferey Kincaid grew up and became the Master at Arms’ page while he trained in the Yards. Fawne grew up playing with the wooden lathe her brother used to train with. When Alex found his daughter dangling the wooden sword over his head one morning when he was still asleep, he decided it was time to teach his daughter. Fawne started with her training of basic movement and forms when she was about 7 years old. Fawne has learned to read and write and do simple math from her caretaker Lila. She had a happy childhood, trouble free and loved by her family. An ever changing family, as her father found love again in the city of Tar Valon. Elia, a Tower Guard in the Yards started a relationship with Fawne’s father when she was still very young. She appreciated Elia as her stepmother, even if her father never married her. They played and danced together. Elia read to Fawne and as the little girl grew older she practiced her reading with Elia. Fawne often went to visit Elia in the Yards when her father was at work in the inn, The Sirens Call.

Fawne has always believed her mother died, on duty for the White Tower and as such loathed the Sisters of the White Tower very much. As Fawne grew older, she woke up in the middle of the night sometimes, crying because she had dreamt about her mother. The Aes Sedai would enter the room she was sleeping in, her mother following the Aes Sedai in. Fawne would wake up and see the Aes Sedai slay her mother as if she was not there watching. The dreams scared her very much and fed Fawne’s hate for the Tower, until she met with Leona Sedai. Her father brought her to the Red Sister to be tested as he wanted to take Fawne on a trip. He broke the news to Fawne that her mother was still alive, in hiding from the Tower and that Fawne needed the test so she would be sure that her future lay elsewhere. Fawne broke down in tears as she heard of her mother still being alive and was very emotional during the test. Leona told her and her father that she had failed the test and would not become a student of the Tower then. Fawne was relieved, it was already so much to hear that her mother was still alive.

After her father died, Fawne stayed with her mother for a while who brought her back to Tar Valon. Fawne could live with Elia in the Sirens Call inn, caring for her new baby sister who Elia had carried to term just weeks after Alex died. Fawne wanted to be with her mother as she saw Elia with her child, she realized she did not really know her mother and so she traveled to Cairhien where she learnt from the warrior and the caretaker that was Cari Namere. She came to love her twin siblings and learnt from Cari about weapons and forms along with knowledge of herbs to treat minor cuts and bruises. She was happy with the life that she had and could often visit her father’s grave. Fawne made friends at the Ranch and played with her siblings often.

What Fawne did not know was that Leona and her Sisters kept an eye on the girl who returned to Tar Valon so shortly after her trip with Alex. The Red Sister had a feeling that the little girl would grow up to be able to learn how to weave Saidar. They visited the girl in the Sirens Call inn and when Fawne suddenly disappeared to stay with her mother, eyes and ears were addressed to find the young woman. Leona traveled to Cairhien on a trip, when she heard for Fawne’s whereabouts, decided to look the girl up and ask her for another testing. Fawne was found to be able to learn to channel, but it was a weak ability still. Leona did not give up and convinced Cari that her daughter should be trained, the woman was quite easily overturned and Fawne found herself on the way to the White Tower. Somehow, no matter what happened and how far Fawne would travel she always returned to Tar Valon. The city that centered in her life like a warm blanket that protected her from the cold.
