Physical description: At 5’6, Marajha is not a woman to intimidate people with her size. Her slim posture denies her that advantage as well, but one look at her face will tell you that she does not need such advantages. With a strong jawline, high cheekbones and a bold nose, her face almost screams nobility and haughtiness, something that is countered slightly by her full, almost pouty lips. Her hair is dark and curled, and she usually wears it tied back, often braided. Her eyes are also a dark brown.

 

Place of Birth/Raising: Murandy, a mansion on a hillside near the Manetherendrelle.

 

Character History: As it is with all Murandy noble houses, fame and fortune came and went in house Igone. When Marajha was born, the house was rising swiftly. The lace trade brought fortune, and their political standings brought fame, and an almost certain claim to the throne. As one of three children, Marajha did not think she would ever be involved in these politics. Her two older brother quarrelled over who should be King, and her parents watched with mirth in their eyes, encouraging the sibling rivalries between the two. From a very young age Marajha was merely expected to look beautiful, and learn.

 

When she turned sixteen, it was discovered that she could learn even more than her parents had expected. She could learn to channel. Thinking that having a daughter there would strengthen their position, her parents bundled her off to the White Tower, to become an Aes Sedai. Unfortunately for them they never saw their house rise to the throne. A mistake in trading and a bar brawl ended their fortune, and the life of one of Marajha’s brothers. The fame of house Igone dwindled, and Marajha found herself forgotten, trapped as it were in a world she had come to accept as her own.

 

When she was thirty and four years of age, she was raised to Aes Sedai, and she found herself petitioning to the Gray Ajah. Politics still warmed her heart, yet she despised the way the people of Murandy handled their politics. Stability was something she always fought for, no matter where she went. Years passed, and she found herself rising slowly and steadily within the Gray Ajah. At the age of one hundred and fifty she passed up the opportunity to become Sitter, knowing that her work in the world was not done yet. Now, at two hundred and eight she has returned to the Tower, only to find herself amidst the chaos of choosing a new Amyrlin and Keeper.
