SO got on here a good while back, and gonna try again cos the nature of internet availability for me before wasn't great!

 

But thanks to wireless and other such wonderful things I'm back and ready to really get into the site! I've used it to keep up to date with interesting news and things, but that's about it!

 

So now I need advice, things worth being part of (i'll try anything once) and interesting chats that people know are going on!

 

And if there's anyone else irish please say hi!!

Basically everything here on DM is worth trying at least once, whats worth trying more than that is up to you, depending on where your preferences lie. I will answer any specific questions you've got about anything here, if you've got them.

 

And we do have other Irish folk, though I'm not sure that too many of them tend to visit this board at all.

Welcome back, Conor, glad to hear your internet situation is resolved. Afraid I'm not Irish though, Belgian here. As Barm said, everything on DM is worth trying at least once. Though if you tell anyone I agreed with anything that brat said, I'll deny it.  8)

 

Best way to start would be to browse around the different public boards of all the Orgs and if you are into writing, you really need to take a look at the RP side as well. The freestanding threads on top of the boards are quite interesting as well, especially on the WOT books and such, though there are some that talk about everything in life and others that are merely brainless fun, which can be a great way to let off some steam from reality.

 

Myself I can recommend the Band of the Red Hand highly, being an Infantry Blademaster there and the Editor in Chief of our newspaper, the Hornsounder (you can find the most recent published edition of that in the public board of the Band). The Band's theme is music, travels and basic good fun. There's all sorts of fun stuff going on in there all the time, so I highly recommend checking that one out.

 

The White Tower doesn't really have a theme as such, but it kind of speaks for itself. I'm the Head of the Red Ajah there (cue 'shock horror') or also known as the Highest. Contrary to the books, however, the DM Reds are no manhaters and in fact love to endulge themselves in taking extra special care of our most prized male members. ;) Everyone can join in to be either Aes Sedai or Warder pathed, there is no restriction on the sexes for either path. We actually have a few Red Brothers ourselves, though they are out there in the big wide world, getting up to no good, undoubtedly lol.

 

One of the most laid back Orgs that I personally know is the Kin. The Kin is basically an Org based on friendship, relaxing, getting together, exchanging cards and other goodies through mail (snail mail) and most importantly about having fun. Which means, the freedom to be as active, or inactive, as you need to be. I very much like this Org as it is my 'winding down' place. Loreine (U4EA) may seem scary at first (trust me, I know, she was my mentor and my Mistress of Novices) but she's a real sugarbabe. ;)

 

Then there is the Wolfkin. As you can see in my signature (that pic under our posts), I'm a tiny little pup there. But it's a great Org too. Also very laid back, friendly and relaxing atmosphere and no rush whatsoever. It's also known as the Nature Org and has a truckload of great people in it. A whole forest of mischievous pups *grins* and some grey old wolves swapping their paws at the pesky youngens biting at their tails.

 

Um I think I got them all, and if not I'm sure someone else will fill in the ones I missed. This post has gotten quite long as it is. lol.
