I have a feeling this means there is several "solo" winners here. Many Vig kills. Thats not too good, even if they killed 2 mafia this time. Next time it could be 2 innocent every night, appart from the mafia kill.. So we could go daown FAST!

The alarm is growing louder and louder with each passing second.  You know that time is running out.  What would happen if the time did run out, you had no clue.  You didn't want to find out either.

 

Dark Justice lunges for one of the buttons and presses it.  "Everyone, cross your fingers."

 

The alarm is still ringing.  Nothing is changing.  Everyone looks around in panic.  Just when Luthine is about to cry in dispair, everything stops.  There is total silence.  The metal plates slide away, unblocking the window. 

 

"Someone try the door."

 

Moghedian shook her head and backed away.

 

Redust tried it, figuring he needed to do something, anything, because it was his clumsiness that got them in this mess.  The door opened.

 

Everyone ran out of the building, not wanting to be trapped again.

 

"What was that in there?"  Moghedian asked.

 

"I don't know, and I don't want to know." Sven answered.

 

"Well I want to know." Chief Watson said.  "I'm going to go see if I can find any records of that building.  Anything that will clue us in as to why that machine was in there and why it did that.  We'll all meet by the Lynching Tree at noon."

 

Without waiting for a reply, Watson hurried off.

After the events in the abandoned building, everyone leaves to their homes to recover.  Noon comes and everyone arrives at the Lynching Tree.  Everyone except for Chief Watson.

 

No one had to wait very long.  "What is that thing?"  Barmacral asks, pointing to a shape floating in the river nearby.  Rushing to the object, you all find Chief Watson with his throat slit ear-to-ear.

 

There is a dead silence.  Everyone is in shock.

Okay, vigs =/= strike it lucky on Night 1 unless vig = awesome person. Who does strike it lucky on night 1? People who have information. Who has the most information? The mafia. I therefore posit that at least two of those kills were mafia, meaning multiple mafia families in competition with each other. This is supported by the commentary surrounding Mayleigh's death which refers to a hated brother.

I doubt that there are three fully fledged mafia families out there so one may be a serial killer (the outcast brother?) or a vig who jumped the gun.

 

That leaves us with three people, two of them mafia, killed by any combination of mafia, SKs and vigs. That is not a helpful picture. Even if we suppose a minimum of two mafia kills that still doesn't tell us who they killed. Jelly could have been taken out by an overenthusiastic vig for all we know.

 

What we need to know is who killed who, and to begin unravelling that I'm going to ask any vigs (townie aligned killers) [glow=green,2,300]who were active last night [/glow] to come forward and say who they killed. I think we can reasonably assume that there is a cop and a doc active in this game and that therefore both sides will act accordingly  8)

I realise that our vigs might be prohibited from coming forward so a lack of response doesn't necessarily mean there are three families or two serial killers or what have you, but positive information would be invaluable in helping us join the dots. If you're worried for your own safety I'm confident that we can keep you safe for a few nights (which at this rate is about as much as most of us have goat) and in the meantime you'll be able to contribute to more than just the body count.

The worst thing about vigs, for the townies, is that they muddy the waters when it comes to analysing night kills. If we can nullify that we will know a lot more about the shape of this game.

Whoa...I spend a day in bed with a migraine and see what I miss! At least the right button got voted for without my help. That's good. And I'm still alive. Also good. I've never seen a version of Mafia with more than one mafia team. This could get interesting.

Lampshading? I'd take this as misdirection if he had any inkling that he was going to die and be revealed, but who could have predicted a night kill? Mafia are usually very self-conscious about the implications of their actions and Loki is experienced enough to know what those impications are, but why on earth say so in the thread? If we read it that he did expect to have his actions analysed later then this comment could only have been calculated to put the heat on Nephi, because if he wanted to keep it off then just mentioning her name was a bad idea. It's unlikely that the mafia teams know who each other are for game mechanic reasons (although last night makes me wonder) so I'd say that this is at worst simply an opportunistic throw-away line for the benefit of future analysts. *looks at her paragraph and cries*

so wes was killed in the middle of the day, indicating either a vig kill, or a bomb, um though i think we would have got that in the corener. Not necessarily, and he should know that.

 

then there is FDM voting, on day one. as previously stated that has naver yet happened under her own free will, before this game. also it is interesting to note that as well as wes's demise being around the time she was on, it was also right after he was the first one to comment on her never voting the first day. now if rhummy or someone who was pushing for her death is night killed, think it will look very like a frame, or a very good double bluff. oh and also there is a compulser role about, or fdm is fake claiming on anothers behalf. very interesting

 

Chucking firewood on the biggest bonfire. I wouldn't read this to say that he wants FDM dead specifically, he's just throwing his weight behind tomorrow's likely bandwagon. It doesn't get FDM off the hook since we know there are probably multiple families. But he's got me convinced that they're not on the same team, at least.

 

Also note that he would rather we think that there is a compulsor role than that FDM has a post restriction. Why would he want that? It makes a great excuse for odd behaviour. He wants it sitting in the back of our minds so that it sounds more plausible to us in two or three days time when he or a team-mate of his is under fire and starts throwing around hints to the effect that he was under compulsion when he did X suspicious activity

 

so er basically the most imformation to be gained from tomorrow will be from lynching FDM or Thorum i think, though that is dependent on what happens tonight obviously.

 

He hasn't said anything about Thorum until now so he's more than likely just playing to both sides here.

I see three possibilities:

 

1. That Throum is innocent due to the fact that two evils were targeting him.

 

2. Thorum is evil and the two evils were targetting him to throw suspicion off of him or themselves.

 

3. Going with GoodGreif's theory of two mafia teams (:o), Thorum is evil and the two evils were targetting him thinking he was innocent.

 

Seeing as how two possiblilties poit toward Thorum being evil, I'm going to go on the path less traveled.

I copied it from goodgrief's rounding-up-post, and was too lasy to edit away her comments.

 

I just don't believe two mafia's would randomly vote another mafia (they don't know about). Actually, I ain't glad that it's me they both targetted. I'd know someone we could >90% sure trust (only not if there are two mafia teams could he/she be mafia still).

 

Just remember: we've only about 36 hours left, and still need at least six votes.
